Pros: The ability to check in with coworkers and determine who is on which projects many weeks in the future.

Cons: It is hard to narrow down searches using two different requirements. To search by people and a project name is difficult.

Overall: I am able to better understand who is where and working on what at any moment.

Pros: The straightforward view of the projects, and the infinite calendar. The interface looks nice but it lacks key features.

Cons: The lack of features to leave notes or to ask questions about the current projects on the same page. It will be awesome to be able to have a discussion on the project.

Our business uses float to organise staffing and scheduling.

Pros: The flexibility and ease of changing schedules as needs change. Also its simplicity. The filtering tools that you can use in order to highlight specific projects are also useful.

Cons: It can sometimes feel quite laggy and slow to respond when filtering. It also does feel a little slow to respond in some cases more generally. This could be sharpened up to be more in line with other modern software.

One of the best capacity planning tools I know

Pros: Working in a creative environment, we love great designed tools. Float does not only do the job, but also looks good while doing it. And everybody who can handle any calendar, can work with it.

Cons: It would be great, if you could schedule a task with different hours/per day, e.g, 2 on Monday, 5 for Tuesday and 1 for Wednesday without create them after another.

Overall: Better and faster planning of our teams and a greeat overview of running projects

Pros: ability to view each project on its own and make sure no step was missed in scheduling. Ability to drill down on a user or a team and be able to review their schedule. Also, the fact it shows if someone got overloaded is very useful and I like the ability to move people and regroup them

Cons: it is slow when we do an update. When the administrator is moving things or adding new items on someone's schedule, it is very slow to update. Not sure how we can speed it up. Also, when filtering on a project to reschedule, it filters any user that has any link to that project which is great but I think it should show also, maybe in greyed out or faded colours the other items on their shedule. Example, if I am looking at Sep 20, it looks like that user has nothing, because they are schedule Sept 18. So, if I am planning to move their time from Sep 18 to Sep 20, I will not be aware of their current Sep 20 schedule until I exit the filter

Overall: it is easier to filter on a project or individual or group as well as tasks. It gives a better view and allows you to see if you overloaded someone

I like Float because it enables me to view my schedule and my team's schedule beautifully!

Pros: What I like most about Float is its ease of use and aesthetics. When you integrate essential functions such as viewing the teams schedule and provide it in a beautifully formatted layout, it really make its a delight to use.

Cons: I don't like the fact that I have to manually search for my name to view my schedule and project. The system should automatically know who I am since I am logged in and by default it should display my schedule.

Overall: Ease of access to viewing my schedule and the teams schedule ahead of time and understanding how it fits in with the project as a whole.

Float has helped me improve my workflow and control. Taking advantage of my time.

Pros: With Float we can export data and keep track of what we dedicate the most time to. It also updates in real time, so the creative team members always have up-to-date schedules. If I need to move things around I can just drag and drop into people's swimlanes, so that saves me alot of time.

Cons: Unfortunately, I don't think Float is compatible with Basecamp. If they were somehow integrated, that would save me so much time. Feature request!

Overall: Saves time

Pros: Easy to use. Great visual collaborative tool for managing resource. The addition of the feed is great for checking on who's updated the schedule in the unlikely event someone has gone rogue!

Cons: Can be a bit glitchy when adjusting in browser. But it's updated all the time and seems that bugs get ironed out.

Overall: Better team exposure to understanding the available resource for our clients.

Pros: Weekly emails, ease of adding in new projects or tasks to existing projects, the color options (it's like working in a rainbow!), and the reporting/statistics feature. It's nice being able to see current utilization vs. projected. It's very basic, but very straightforward. I also love how it's cloud based, so I can access it anywhere I need to.

Cons: My only complaint is that if you make adjustments to the weekly schedule too close to when the weekly emails go out, the changes might not always get picked up in the notification. I've worked with the developer team to try and figure this one out without any luck. It's so minor, though.

Overall: I manage a team of 8 consultants. Float allows me to see where everyone is going to be on just one screen, instead of having to check 8 different calendars. Ease of my job is absolutely the biggest benefit.

Very easy to use - would highly recommend.

Pros: I really liked how easy it was to start working with. Importing resources and projects was easy and I liked that you could populate the template with your existing data. This made updating information particularly easy.

Cons: We chose to go with a different piece of software, Ganttic, which had a more competitive pricing structure.

Pros: Very easy to use, and lots of handy features such as the repeat task option and the ability to add different departments.

The ability to add 'observers' is great too, so everybody on our wider team can check in and see what we're up to/what our availability is.

Cons: The lack of a mobile app is an issue, but I believe they are working on one as we speak. The mobile website is quite tricky to use too.

Overall: The key benefit is knowing that my team can track the tasks they are doing which makes reporting P&L a lot easier.
