It helps us keep track of our budget and billable hours so we do not lose everything. Pros It shows me on a timeline, when people are available. This is adequate; I wasn’t really expecting the colors to make much sense or be an overwhelming mess but surprisingly it worked well enough for our clients. Okay, the block view works great for seeing the blocks of work I need to do during the day. And the program did not freeze up after I entered all the employees’ information (which took way longer than expected). Cons The mobile version of this application is completely ridiculous. Once I enter a task, I am forever stuck in some pop-up and I have to clear my entire browser history to escape. If I use the Google calendar feature to connect this application to my own calendar, I am unable to adjust the meeting times. Cons I disliked the colour of this card as it is the same colour as my mastercard and I have accidentally used my float business card for my personal use because I thought it was my mastercard. Some changes would be helpful, but in general it is a massive help in resource planning and I can't imagine working without it. Pros It is a great tool to be integrated with jira - it works well for our team, it's a seamless, smooth integration that helps us estimate time & choose the right resource for any jira tasks. It is also easy to follow by the users who are marking tasks "complete", adding comments, mark bookings as tentative. All very clear and transparent. Cons The integration with google calendar doesn't work that well. Some of the bookings are wrong / outdated / are not being updated / duplicated / not being displayed in a correct project or are missing. Luckily, the support team is open to help with this kind of issues. Also, the annoying feature is that the "View in jira" link doesn't work for duplicated bookings. It doesn't work well for our team as more people use the same tasks on jira in different time. It's impossible to search using the jira ticket number (you have to know the ticket name). Also, ticket numbers are not displayed in the “Task” field- that causes some confusion because we work with tasks with similar names. This means that you don't need any time to familiarize yourself with it. Just click and add entries.If you work with many different customers, you can create them once and then easily add individual projects within these customer folders.I especially like the fact that I can tell my clients apart right at first glance using the Color Coding feature. But when I need more information, I can also click on the entries and have access to the job number, the available budget, and any other information that might be available.Thanks Float - you make my daily work so much easier :-) Cons What could be improved:Currently, when I enter vacation, my projects in the same time frame just disappear from the schedule. This is quite inconvenient and should be fixed. It would be more practical to at least be warned and transfer the projects individually to someone else from the team, or be able to specify vacation substitutions so that the projects are automatically transferred.Also, it would be great if you could duplicate blockers via copy & paste. The split tool is often a bit impractical to use. The planning, time tracking and reporting features seem to work in a stable manner. Sorting and filtering is done really well. Cons There are some UX problems which are just plain weird. Scheduling time for an employee is tedious because the planned time affects the duration and vice-versa. We do our planning on a weekly basis instead of day-to-day, so we're often entering time planned like 0.4h/day which is more complicated than we would like it to be. There are some weird issues with the API as well, where some fields are not being applied correctly, or behavior changes with updates. No clear way of making tasks clear priorities for creative. System for logging could be better so that creatives can send any notes on incomplete/unstarted tasks back to the allocator. Cons I'd like to have employee birthdays displayed on the schedule somehow, other calendars use suitable icons e.g. cake with candles. There's really nothing else important I'd ask for. March 21, 2023 5.0 We have been using it for almost 2 years, overall we are happy although it took a bit to get the hang of things. The customer service was super nice and helpful the couple of times I have reachedout.We have tried the time recording module a few months back but the price was too much for us at that time. Pros That once you get the hang of it is great tool for my team (about 40 team members). The big board gives great overview and the filters work like charm! As long as you have set them up correctly. This took a bit to click through all the team members but once done it make traffic management SO much easier! Cons Lack of multiple currencies, very cumbersome managment of retainer projects (those that need to be repeated month by month).
