### "Easy to use but lacking some features"

September 1, 2023

4.0

I use it weekly to staff members to projects and track their capacity. it gets difficult when we need to restaff people and/or use different timing in different times

Pros

You can filter down by project, title, names. You can also add details of the team members (what team they belong to, direct report or even simple tags like experience level)

Cons

When you assign a team member to a project, and they need to work different hours in different weeks, you have to create an entry for each segment. E.g. 3hrs/day in Q1 and 4hrs/day in Q2, and then the same in Q3 and Q4, you need to create 4 different entries. It gets complicated if you program by week.

### "Planning projects with Float"

March 15, 2023

5.0

For an economical price it is a useful tool that satisfies medium-sized project planning and budget control.

Pros

A very important feature is the ability to run detailed reports such as the budget report that allows management to ensure that costs are on budget. is simple to use, but requires time to explore and manage all your resources.

Cons

It is suitable for managing small to medium-sized projects, but not for large ones. This is due to the fact that a large project requires multiple tasks in the same project and some of them in the long term, a disadvantage that sometimes does not manage.

### "Integral part of our internal production process"

August 13, 2020

5.0

has honestly been a game changer for our studio and as a result, the wider business. The minute we first started using the platform, it transformed the way we visualise our busy schedules and communicated with the wider teams about our availability and timelines. It's made our lives easier and simplified the overall production process - taking a lot of guesswork and confusion out of the equation.

Pros

The simplicity and immediacy of the timeline interface is massively important for digesting and understanding an often hectic and clogged schedule. Customisation of clients, projects and tasks means that we can see, at a glance, exactly what clients and projects we are working with - it takes a lot of the project management stress out of the process for teams like mine, who need to focus on their own tasks at hand.

Cons

I think there could be more options to input information within the tasks in a schedule - although there is a notes section, it would be great to see more integration with other platforms like the Google suite (Drive, slides, docs) that could streamline our process even more.

### "Great Visual Tool for Resource Management"

August 1, 2019

4.0

We've been able to better project planning times for business needs coming in. When we know how long something takes via , we're able to give clearer milestones to our clients and we can manage our internal deadlines better. When you're able to take a quick peak at Float and see what someone is working on for the next few days, it's a more efficient way to manage resourcing expectations internally and across business units internally.

Pros

With , I love that you can make instant decisions on capacity management. I can assign someone a scheduled task and easily move the task back and forth between two team members if needed. It's a great visual tool to see how long people are spending in a certain area and to help plan ahead for the future. It gives a full visual picture of capacity and resource management, which can be hard to do. I love that you're able to assign color coding and different notes to each project, so you can monitor the health of the project properly and understand how many people are actually touching it.

Cons

Sometimes, there are some small glitches that happen, where you make an update and it either disappears or adds additional time to someone's schedule (making them fully at capacity). There aren't many cons to this application other than that because sometimes it can just take a lot of refreshing and some rework because sometimes the refreshes can cause a loss in information inputted.

### "Best Project Management Software I've Ever Used"

June 28, 2022

5.0

Our team works much more efficiently since we have started using . It has helped with project management and time tracking. We are able to seamlessly track all hours and days spent on project and go back and reference projects from months ago.

Pros

I like the ease of project scheduling and management for my teammates. There are multiple people on my team who do scheduling, so we can all easily view which resources are available with .

Cons

The only feature that needs improvement is the dragging of project dates. It skews the dates of the project, and can work a little better.

### "Program Manager using Float"

February 11, 2019

4.0

We are using in our organization to manage resource allocation and we have been using it for the last 3 years. It has been mostly great and enhanced our resource allocation amazingly and provided great visibility into resourcing across different programs and into the future. We use Float to track Holidays and vacation across all regions (worldwide), we use it to forecast allocation and revenue across the team per each project. Permissions are straightforward and allow us to control what we want. We can keep projects as tentative while awaiting for the contract and still allocate people to provide visibility into anticipated resourcing load. Overall Float has been great for us and I would recommend it to any organization providing services and focused around resourcing their team. Float has been constantly evolving and you can notice the difference and improvements rolled out weekly if not daily. Thank you for your work Float team!

Pros

\- Easy of use - Performance - Interface - Good visibility into my resources and their load

Cons

\- There were couple glitches and numerous updates in January but that is resolved now - Previously performance was not great, but there are great improvements recently on that part - Adding holidays could be easier - When grouped by project I'd like to show all assigned project for people, not only specified project

### "Beautifully simple and easy to use"

January 26, 2019

5.0

is a product I like using, and I wish some of its features and UX elements were in the other software that I use! We use Synergist for job and project management, but Float for scheduling because it UX is so much better than Synergist's scheduler tool.

Pros

's user interface and logic are inspirational. They have made the activity of coordinating multiple resources on multiple projects about as easy as it can be. They have paid a lot of attention to usability, efficient use of screen real estate and simple navigation. However the killer feature is the intuitive yet clever way that searching and data navigation work. All searching and filtering is done using a single search field, which offers indexed word search on pretty much everything including tags. There is also a well-worked out protocol for handling union and intersect searches.

Cons

The only real bugbear is that any user that can enter data into the system can define new values for any field. It isn't possible to centrally control lists such as task names, clients, job descriptions etc. This means that if you have more than one person using the system, very quickly you get different versions of the same thing being defined (e.g. job roles being slightly different) which makes it difficult to analyse across records. Not a dealbreaker, but I do think it should be possible to lock down lists of values. Also it would be good if you could zoom out the view a little more - if you're dealing with more than a dozen resources/projects.

### "Float review for Audio Visual Studio"

January 17, 2019

5.0

With using we have been able to have one central, accessible platform for the team to schedule tasks and projects and to assign them to the relevant individuals, sometimes weeks ahead of the deadlines. This has improved the teams overall planning of jobs and has allowed us to see what we can take on, what we need to reschedule and at times when we have to call in additional help to meet the deadlines. Float is quite easy to use and is improving all the time with new features. For us as an audio and design studio it has become an essential tool in our day to day operations that has benefited our overall productivity.

Pros

As a busy audio and visuals studio the biggest advantage we have seen with using is the scheduling feature. This allows us to schedule when projects and tasks need to take place, and who is working on and responsible for each project and task. As we have a number of people on our team and often numerous projects on the go at one time, Float has allowed us to better coordinate everything and has become vital in ensuring that projects and tasks are completed on time by each individual team member. As a team we can view the overall workload and time frames involved, while as an individual you can keep track of what tasks or projects you are working on and what projects you can or can not take on due to scheduling.

Cons

Sometimes the administrator /account owner has certain scheduling permissions and can add projects for individual team members int he scheduling feature. This is great but when these scheduled tasks or projects need to be changed or reshuffled it can only be done by the admin person / account owner and not the individual. There have been times when the admin person has not been available and I have needed to change the scheduled projects created by the admin person but have not been able to and have had to wait for the admin person to do it. This is the only downside so far that I have experienced using .

### "Multi disciplinary studio management "

January 22, 2019

4.0

Currently managing a team of 9 designers in a multi disciplinary team with 30+ different jobs daily. Tool has worked perfectly well for top line management of workflow and constant changing priorities. Visually easy to understand. Since the recent update the software has performed so much better then expected and has made a massive difference to usability.

Pros

The simple usability of the software. How quick it is to add jobs, extend and move jobs around to different people. Flexible scrolling through the weeks. So easy to set someone up and get started with very minimal training. Report system very useful for monthly reports. For top line project management this is the perfect tool.

Cons

The search bar sometimes doesnt work or show particular jobs on occasion. Search seems to only work within the month you are viewing, rather then showing a job from a previous month. This is intermittent and sometimes works to find what you are looking for when refreshed. Still need to test this after the software update to see if it has been resolved. Doesn't refresh for designers, so we have updated and moved jobs around and they aren't aware as their has remained the same, unless they manually refresh the window. Would be great to see more in depth project management potential, such as uploading briefs, designs and signing them off all on this software.

### "Great software to manage and plan resources!"

June 27, 2022

5.0

I like to use on my daily basis, helps me to track in the best possible way my assigned resources, time availability, billable and non-billable time to create reports on a detailed way according to assigned tasks, that helps to manage our projects and resources, looking always to prevent future issues.

Pros

Web based software, easy to use, good user interface, detailed timesheet records and reporting.

Cons

Improving some features can make a robust alternative. Filtering features can be improved to show resources on an easy way, also create and save custom report templates can help to final users.

### "Easy Ressourceplanning tool"

We're using it for three years now and intend to continue doing so.

Pros

This tool does exactly what its supposed to do for our Purposes. We are very glad to use it. On of the best features is the automated e-mail for the colleagues at the beginning of a sheduled week.

Cons

From our perspective there is likely nothin in particular to dislike.

### "Great tool for Resource Managers"

August 24, 2023

is very intuitive, so easy to implement and teach people on the team how to use it.

Pros

It was a great upgrade in terms of quickly visualizing the team's capacity and modifying tasks in real time.I also like the possibility of creating a project template because it saves me time when I add new projects.

Cons

I would like the possibility of de-zooming (or making the density more compact), because as I have a big team that would allow me to visualize the big picture of the workload of the team altogether.

### "Featureful, but lacking some that counts most"

May 9, 2024

4.0

Pros

The general UI is very nifty and responsive, and the scheduling view is great for visualising timelines. When managing a specific project, it's great for visualising timelines and tasks across the team.

Cons

It lacks certain reports and integrations, most importantly in the revenue tracking and headcount allocation space. This means that we had to resort to "hacks" to record information, and then visualise this data elsewhere. We also had to use hacks on other softwares to set up the right invoicing / approval / billing processes.

### "Good experience"

August 22, 2023

5.0

Pros

We were previously working on a competitive solution. Compared to other solutions on the market, is affordable and allows you to use the tool to its full potential. You're not drowning in a ton of functionality and that's what I liked about it. The ease of use for users and the ease of management for administrators is very satisfying.

Cons

Perhaps the most annoying thing about is the ability to export a schedule for customers that is easy to understand. The statistics section could also be improved so that we can compare the time spent (and internal costs) against what has been sold (with the costs sold).

Pros

Pros

Cons

### "Useful for Real-Time Scheduling"

June 14, 2022

5.0

Overall, I've really enjoyed using . I feel like I have the freedom to control my own schedule without needing to alert everyone in person, which could sometimes take a while. I like that I can easily move projects around on the calendar for myself and others. Now, anyone can look at my schedule and easily see conflicts or which days I've taken paid time off.

Pros

is a very easy system to jump into. My favorite aspects of Float are the real-time scheduling, and the calendar. My company has many projects going on at once, and it is easy to keep track of mine and others' schedules with the calendar function, such as dragging and moving projects around if there are conflicts.

Cons

I have not quite found a good way of managing all of my projects in one place. Difference project managers name projects in a different way than I would, so there is no stream-lined system to that.
