There should be a way to 'clear' the function after using it. Pros I like how simple and easy it is to use, makes doing timesheets a breeze! Cons My cursor gets stuck after I add/delete/split. Float is superb! Pros I love the ability to analyse utilisation and schedule resources at multiple levels - for an individual, a project team, a department, and even the whole company. This allows an immediate way of getting feedback once changes are made. It also allows me to see profitability immediately based on resource actual and scheduled utilisation. Only the first 15 or so and the last few characters are visible. This should be corrected. Also, I would like improvents in the view and functionality in the scenario when a resource is assigned to multiple projects on a single day or has a few hours off and not a full day off Review Source Dylan M. It works intuitively and has everything we were looking for in a tool. We compared many tools, and ended up with Float. We are all very happy with it. Pros It is great that float offers, in a very intuitive way, a tool that combines everything we need: project management, capacity planning, an overview of the spend budget, a good overview of all deadlines, and hour tracking. Cons When you log your hours you cannot see the notes that were added to a task while planning the task. Employees no longer hesitate to use their personal tools and applications for professional purposes. Collaboration and communication tools promote new uses and new ways of working within a digital, agile company that is increasingly extended to its external ecosystem. Float as an internal communication tool makes all this possible, bringing managers and employees closer to the company and meeting their expectations in terms of information. Fun, practical and functional, Float has become for me an indispensable managerial tool, both to explain the company's strategy and to highlight my results. It also allows me to motivate my colleagues! Pros I find that the features already present are exactly what I need for my start up: the possibility to call each other via Chrome browser is a plus. The mobile application is really very useful and makes Float easier to use. Not only does it allow me to continue to follow the threads of conversation wherever I am (in a meeting, on the road, anywhere), but also to send attachments (images, records, etc.). The integration with other applications is very ergonomic: I use Jira and Confluence a lot and the widgets in Float are very responsible as soon as I import a link for my collaborators. Cons I'm a fan of it, I find that it is not lacking in functionality, but if I ever change my mind, I know that the customer service department will welcome my remarks and suggestions with kindness and professionalism. However, I do find that the possibility of not having to change browsers and make or receive calls from Mozilla would be great. Review Source LM Liz M. Integrating with our job management tool saves time on timesheet management and ensures jobs don't go over on time. Pros One dashboard, one overview of all resources and it integrates with our job creation tool which makes it super easy for timesheets. Moving jobs to other days is just a drag and drop away. I have never used it before but within 15 minutes I'd managed to schedule all my projects. I also like the budget tracking element - I have quite a complicated project with a less than 2% tolerance with the budget and Float has been invaluable helping me track that. Cons I find it's quite hard to export the data which we need for our invoicing - I end up exporting it in Excel and then having to copy and paste. Cons Task management is a bit fiddly and either too or not enough restricted.Having multiple way to define certain information (pricing) is great but can sometimes lead to a lack of clear vision. We can easily categorise people into teams, roles etc and then do quick searches. It's also really easy for every employee to log their time spent on projects so that we know what to invoice to clients. Cons It's not great for managing the budget of a project: the reports are really limited so you have to do a csv export if you want to do in depth analysis. Additionally, it promotes a balance between home life and work life as time recording encourages me to to identify signs of overworking. Overall it helps create a healthier and happier work life. Cons Time recording in general is burdensome or very administrative. I try to record my time at the end of each week as a habit but I tend to forget. There is a lot of very good positives for Float, but I can see there is still room to grow, but I have no doubt the team at Float will progress this in time. Pros Float is incredibly easy to use and integrate into smaller teams. Visually straightforward, it gives you quick and simple answers to essential resource-based questions and allows team members to see what work they should be progressing and when in a tidy calendar view. In addition, there is an easy link between time in the calendar to projects that can be managed quickly. Cons I do find that compared to some other systems, a level of detail when it comes to finances and budgets vs resource is missing. Whilst you can get some very top-level detail, the ability to link actual time spent versus project budgets is a little simplistic and could be expanded upon to really drill down into more detail to provide better overall reports.
