Cons Task categories should be able to be assigned to multiple users. For example, I should be assigned project manager, web dev and director task categories, while another user would be just web dev, and another user assigned as project coordinator, web dev, etc. We should not have the list of ALL categories across ALL users- they should be able to be filtered and assigned to specific users. In this case, the latter is more accurate; Avaza is an excellent tool for any group working on numerous projects together, especially those with a high volume of interrelated tasks. Time tracking for teams, individual work hours, and even smaller tasks and subtasks are all included. Pros Avaza is mostly utilized by our company for PM and tasks. By removing mundane, time-consuming tasks, it frees up a significant amount of our time each week. Our actions are closely tracked and evaluated by Avaza. The process aids in locating bottlenecks and other trouble spots. Avaza is vital to the smooth functioning of our Admin, BD, and TS departments. Cons Although the quoting mechanism is solid, it lacks the adaptability necessary for our purposes. We'd love it if large projects could be broken up into stages. For example, there is no ability to add custom fields or logic. However, Avaza has stated that adding custom fields is on its roadmap, but in general more ways to customize the application would be nice. Working for a consulting firm it's been indispensable for timesheet tracking, keeping projects on budget, and invoicing clients. Pros The API feature has been transformational - I have been integrating it into Google Sheets through AppScript in order to have auto-updating custom workplans, as well as auto-book the team's resources instead of entering each resource booking entry one at a time. A huge time saver! Cons Resource booking is a bit cumbersome and time consuming. Reports not as customizable as I would like, and there were some issues when running expense reports in multiple currencies with the conversion rate that I couldn't resolve. I love how the Timesheets, Invoices, Reports, etc can all be linked to the Projects in the system. It is also great to be able to collaborate amongst the team and have access to important Project files. Avaza has really allowed the business to manage employee time, projects, assess financials and overall streamlined our processes. Cons Sometimes getting set up can be a learning curve as with getting to know any project management software. While there are many areas to customize/personalize the software with our company branding and messaging, there are minor features we wish it could have — for example, being able to more freely customise the look of invoices. The reporting side is also really valuable and we plan to use that more as our needs grow. Pros We've been using this for 6+ years now and love it. I'd tried a lot of other systems but this is easy to use across the team, easy to customise and whilst it's really good in terms of projects and task lists, it's invaluable in terms of managing resource and visually seeing what people are working on to help prioritise and get things done. Cons Sub-tasks are a frustration - you can have them within tasks but it's very basic, you can't assign them or give them due dates. It's on the roadmap we hear so will be a welcome addition when it's in place. I remember thinking Avaza really wasn’t all that different in layout, which is a good thing, but it’s some of the extra features here and there that I need to learn more about as I continue to get comfortable with the site. Pros Mostly being able to work with other people who aren’t with me physically. There’s a lot of details that can be involved and I’m still able to have others stay on the same page as me. Side note, so in love with the fact you guys have an app. Cons I’m not sure if this is an option but a task prioritization feature is always helpful to me. Easy, quick and supportive" March 7, 2018 4.0 Pros Quick to set up. True Gantt charting AND resource loading - great that we can plan ahead visually. Nice workflow from quoting to invoicing, without becoming intrusive or cumbersome. Cons Still some work to do, but we'll keep station: Can't for example progress invoice and easily see what's billed/what's left to bill, and you can't add true supplier costs and sell on as margin (they have to be added as expenses which isn't the right method in PM). Also, for the 65%+ of colour-blind males out there - once you reach your 8 hours, the schedule changes to 'Full'. So far so good. However, go over 8 hours and it changes from green to red - which is extremely difficult to interpret at a glance if you're red-green colourblind. Some UX refinement required here. What makes this harder is that the number then changes to how many hours 'over' your 8 hour day you are rather than showing either a '-' against the number, or more appropriately just continuing to add up the hours you need to do on that day. We're sure these are niggles that will be ironed out as the product develops.
