My experience has been fantastic and I do not see myself switching ticketing platforms any time soon.

Pros

I started using Ludus just over a year ago for our school's event ticket sales. Ludus is so easy to use and has a ton of personalization features to make it fit your needs. Aside from the ticketing platform, I also use the fundraising platform and their newly launched retail platform. Everything is so easy to use, and makes my job so much easier. The fees are passed onto the patrons, so using the platform doesn't cost me anything. For any of our patrons who are anti-fees, they are able to pay in cash to avoid them. We are continuing to grow our program, and I am excited to hopefully begin using the marketing features more this year.

Cons

While I don't really consider it a con, Ludus is still growing and expanding. When some of the newer features are launched, there is a learning period for both me and the Ludus staff. That being said, they have always worked quickly to get me answers, even if they don't know it at the time of the question.

I met a Ludus rep at FTC and she really sold me. The fees are lower, the platform does significantly more, and now I had an actual person to connect with for issues.

Overall, Ludus has been the BEST program we have use for our small non-profit. It has saved us a ton of time and money compared to programs we have used in the past. They truly have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Ludus is super easy to use, even for staff with less aptitude with technology.

Pros

The customer service is incredible. The service itself is very easy to use, but if you need help with any issues that might arise or a problem you cannot solve, the staff at ludus is there to help you out. With just a tap of the chat box, you are connected with a staff member and guided step by step through the process of helping you solve the issue

Cons

For our non-profit, Ludus has everything that we need to do what we need to be done. The one impactful thing that is an issue for our non-profit is the integration with Quickbooks.

Your support is outstanding. I have always received quality help. When I use the chat people listen and are very helpful.

Cons

The ticket printing was a little challenging at first, but once again, with help it is smooth now. My parents run the box office with ease.

Built for theatre and very useful in the educational theatre realm. Reliable and consistent costumer service, and a good interface!

Pros

As a busy high school director I really appreciate the support team. They are always quick to respond and help with even simple tasks that I just can't figure out. The Ludus seating chart method is amazing. I have been able to create dinner theatre seats as well as full auditorium seat for our major musical. Finally Ludus makes purchases, donation, fundraising, and payout easy, they have the simplest fee structure and were truly built for theatre, especially at the high school level.

Cons

My administrators have trouble understanding the fee format. In most cases Ludus is cheaper but not in all and when we as theatre teachers argue that they "don't" understand it. I wish I had an answer this but I am happy this is my only con.

Overall, I am more than pleased with Ludus and have recommended it to colleagues from other organizations.

Pros

From the admin perspective, Ludus is easy to use, reliable, and user friendly. Customer Service staff members are truly amazing - competent, courteous, quick to provide solutions/recommendations, and very respectful. Setting up events is pretty simple although I have to ask questions (see my note on the great Customer Service). Payout is quick and easy. This helps.

Cons

Our patrons tend to be on the "senior" side of life. Sometimes they don't understand how to get their tickets even though it is clearly spelled out. Most don't understand about downloading things to their devices. They want printed tickets and often do not see or read how they can do this themselves and/or request "real" tickets.

Complex tasks often require customer support to troubleshoot, rather than relying on the online manual. The online manual is relatively brief regarding advanced functions.

I recommend Ludus to anyone who will listen. They have made event ticketing, donations, fundraisers, fee collections, and marketing so user-friendly. It simplifies my workflow, and I so appreciate that they continue to update their product in ways that make even more sense for teachers and event coordinators.

Pros

Ludus has so many great features, but their customer service is truly outstanding. Many companies offer similar ticketing services, but I have never worked with a company that offers such accessible, quick, and reliable customer service.

Cons

Honestly, I didn't love the signature Ludus green at first, but after many years as a loyal Ludus user, I have come around. And Ludus allows you to customize your home page, so if the green is also not for you, you can change it!

I love that Ludus has been designed for the performing arts and around the needs of arts organizations. The customer support is superior. The ticketing process is easy and straightforward with multiple options that can be tailored to a variety of productions. The technical support is quick to resolve issues and bring new, well thought out innovations to the platform. The fee's are the best value for the features compared to other platforms. Ludus provides a comprehensive ticketing platform designed for arts organizations and continues to evolve to meet the ever changing needs of performing arts for all levels of programs. Simply put Ludus is the best!!

I hope that in the future, their will be the opportunity to bring more customization to the platform in the splash page and other pages throughout the platform.

I'll never use another ticketing product - I'm a die hard Ludus fan. It's easy, simple, endlessly customizable - fantastic service and isn't yet another thing for me to 'manage' - it just works.

Pros

I love the easy of use - for both the client/end user, as well as for me, the admin - it's so simple to use and manage, and the customer service is GREAT. If I ever have a question, no matter how odd, the folks at Ludus always get back to me almost immediately with help and answers.

Cons

My one dislike, if anything, is something super minimal - when a customer orders a ticket, the QR code isn't by default in their email - they have to select how they want to receive the ticket itself. It's always retrievable, but in an older building with awful wifi, it makes it one extra step my patrons have to navigate.

### "Ludus is the best program out there!"

We have tried many other known programs for marketing, fundraising, ticketing, and with all the others they didn't have exactly what we needed, we had to use 103 different programs at the same time, or they were too expensive to continue to use. With Ludus, our overall experience is fantastic! We wouldn't go anywhere else and hope that many others check out Ludus as their program of choice.

Pros

Ludus has been a huge asset to our small/mid-size non-profit. Ludus is all-encompassing to include ticketing, support, marketing, fundraising, reporting, and all at the best value for your money. One of my favorite parts of Ludus is that the team listens to you and your needs, and takes your thoughts and needs into consideration. They are forever working on upgrading to make the best program they can, for the needs of their clients.

Cons

I don't know that I have much to like least about Ludus... the only thing I can think of, and it might be me doing something wrong, is when I am putting together a marketing email, I sometimes try to use the "blocks". When I move them over where they need to be, they don't always "place" in the right location. Beyond that, we are thrilled with Ludus.

I love the versatility of Ludus. I can collect payments for different things as well as sell tickets to our productions. It is also very user friendly and the customer service is top tier.

Cons

There is nothing I don't like about Ludus that I can think of. I have had other companies reach out to me trying to get me to use theirs but I have nothing but positive things to say about Ludus.

Exceptional. Customer service is always on top of things and extremely helpful. The team is always working to stay current with the needs of the times we are living in - for example, developing a way to socially distance seats as tickets sell. Overall, I have consistently been impressed with this product, team, and innovation. Not once have I ever thought twice about using Ludus.

Pros

Ludus really took a lot of the business stress out of directing a high school theater production. I run a small program, without a lot of staff to assist. Ludus took the biggest time consumer - ticket sales - and streamlined the process by allowing patrons to purchase their own tickets and print them or have a picture on their phone to show. The ability to livestream through Anywhere Seat was also extremely helpful last year. Customer service is always amazing - fast and helpful.

Cons

The only issue I have ever had with Ludus is that sometimes figuring out how to do something can be a bit confusing. Got example, when I needed to switch someone’s reserved seat to a handicap assessable seat or how to refund a ticket. It took some doing on both counts, but I figured it out. Customer service was helpful as well.

### "The only product you need for virtual software"

Absolutely fantastic.

Pros

Transitioning from our old and expensive virtual ticketing system was SO easy. The team helped me build two auditorium maps (the thing that kept me from transitioning sooner)..and I was up and running within minutes. There is such a variety of options for customization it's crazy, and so helpful and when I ask for help, they are right there..I do not need to make an appointment. When they told me they could link my virtual performance from another company( that I HAD to use) into their system so I only had to give my customers one link for virtual or in person performances, that just did it. I'm a fan for life. For my uses at the MS and HS level, I've not used anything better and cannot advocate enough. I have enough to stress about, and now, I do not about my tickets!!

Cons

Sometimes I have to look hard for what I want...but, most of that is learning Ludus process vs how my old system did things. Not really a con on THEIR end....

I talked to other director friends of mine and it seemed like it would be a good fit.

### "Perfect solution for managing theater ticket sales"

Reserving tickets for will call and selling tickets online to be printed at home are the main problems that this solves for us. Our patrons have found the solution easy to use. As an administrator, I am very happy with how easy the software is to use. I have used 5 different ticketing platforms over the years and I prefer Ludus.

Pros

Ease of use and customizability is the best part of this software. I also love how the team provided much needed features for streaming during Covid.

Cons

The only feature I miss compared to some competitors, is the ability to send email marketing campaigns. However, I found other solutions that do this just as well for free.

Reason for choosing Ludus

Ludus provided similar features, was easier to use, and had straightforward pricing.

### "Schools and Arts Organizations Should Choose Ludus!"

Pros

Ludus is an intuitive product that is easy to learn and implement. They are forward thinking and always finding new ways to improve, even in a global pandemic. On top of it all, their customer service is second to none. I would strongly recommend Ludus to any school or arts organization. Their web-based ticketing software has saved us hours of time and money and has been a very positive change for the St. Johns Public Schools Theatre Department.

Cons

There isn't anything I dislike. Ludus continuously uses feedback from their customers to improve their product. We asked for more support videos and tutorials and they delivered. We asked for social distancing tools and they delivered. I don't have a single negative thing to say about this company or their product.

Ludus is one of the best services I have used as a public school performing arts educator. They are friendly, helpful, and extremely prompt in their responses and their services are reasonable.

Pros

Ludus' customer service is second to none. I have had to contact them multiple times over issues both big and small and every time a representative has answered my questions or helped me troubleshoot almost immediately, even on weekends and in the evenings. I never feel like I am on my own when using Ludus. I also love that I am able to sell merchandise, take online orders, and send marketing emails all through the same dashboard.

Cons

I would prefer not to have to use a phone or other device with wifi in order to make credit card sales with the card reader.

It's great! I highly recommend using Ludus, the team is amazing! The platform is easy to use, and they offer so many services- it will serve your entire Fine arts arena

Pros

I am not the most tech savvy person, but the platform is extremely user friendly. The team at Ludus are ALWAYS very quick to respond and have helped me solve anything I needed on the platform. It is a great value, and it has saved us considerable time and money. I am able to market, fundraise, and receive donations in addition to selling tickets. Ludus really does so many things! It has been a wonderful choice for our FIne Arts Department.

Cons

I've used other platforms, and honestly Ludus is the best out of what ive used so I really don't have any. I'm sure anyone can find something wrong with everything, but i'm very happy with it

Love love love, I cannot sing the praises of how much I love Ludus. Well done and thank you for making an affordable program.

Pros

Ease of use, quality of product was great, and the number of things you can do from Ludus; email marketing, sales, donations; it's got everything you need!

Cons

I do wish it had a device specific for check in. I don't like giving up my phone so volunteers can check people in. Though I might look into a small ipad for this purpose.

Ludus is easy to use and offers so many extra features that make running events so much more efficient. We love the Splash page, and our donations have tripled since we began using Ludus.

Pros

We love all of the options that we get with Ludus. It’s not just for tickets. We run a donation and sponsorship campaign through Ludus, as well as seating chart tickets, registrations, forms, fee payments, and rental charges. That’s not even everything that Ludus does! We recently ran an email campaign through Ludus that gave us a high return.

Cons

Figuring out the process off how to exchange tickets is a very difficult, and it seems there should be an easier way to do an exchange quickly (especially when this is happening at the box office on the night of a production).

It was so easy to switch and set up. My parent users and patrons all love how easy it is to use and I love that it eases their stress and that if/when I need anything, a Ludus rep is always there to help.

Pros

Ludus is so easy use and the customer service is 10+ stars!! I love being able to set up fees for productions, products, events and classes. And I LOVE the invoicing feature.

Cons

I wish I could use Ludus to inventory more elements in my theater - like costuming and props/set and I wish the world didn’t have credit card fees.

### "Ludus-Who Could Ask for Anything More?"

Ludus allows me to ask questions that start with 'How can I...?' Many companies answer that question with 'I'm sorry but...' In all of my experiences with Ludus their team has helped me find a way to run my program effectively. I've registered camps, sold t-shirts, signed up volunteers, and of course, sold tickets.

Pros

Using Ludus is so easy! I appreciate that training my volunteers is finally a manageable task. With our previous system, it was so complicated that I had trouble keeping volunteers in the role of ticket sales. Now, my volunteers stick around even after their students graduate.

Cons

I can't list a single thing I don't like about Ludus. There are many tools I haven't used yet, but I have high expectations and no reason to believe Ludus won't meet them.

From the first call I had to learn more about Ludus I knew it would be a good fit. They immediately spotted the major issues we were experiencing with our former ticketing platform and helped us resolve them when we switched. Our ever-expanding season has so many multi-faceted and complex needs and Ludus was the only one that could meet them well and within our budget.

Pros

The depth of knowledge by the customer support staff, the features available on the platform and the intuitive, easy to use interface make Ludus the winner out of all the ticketing companies I've tried.

Cons

It was a challenge figuring out the best device/view for our volunteers to use at check in, but once we got the hang of the check in app, it was a breeze. Major improved experience for volunteers and audience members.

### "P&B Loves Ludus!"

My overall experience with Ludus as been extremely positive! It's been easy to use and I'm always finding more benefits for our organization!

Pros

I started at a small community theatre in the middle of the season. Ludus is incredibly easy to use. I was able to learn and navigate the system with ease. Soon after starting, I was able to refine our comp ticketing system for our cast and crew and make our ticketing site more appealing. When I have had issues, Ludus' customer service team is ready to help! All of my concerns have been addressed quickly and with ease.

Cons

I would love if Ludus allowed for monthly donorship processing. I love that Ludus allows our guests to make donations on our website and during the check-out process. However, it would be very beneficial if I could process monthly donors.
