Pros The interface could be understood quite easily with minimal training allowing for quick generation of data reports. The SQL backend, data connections and data warehouse allow for the user to go into much further depth with their data. Cons Sometimes the platform would be slow to update and the data would could very rarely not update. Not only do you have a limited number of meetings with the person who helps with the onboarding but you also have a time limit to complete those meetings. Once we had it half working, the connections kept breaking every time something changed. It was too hard to pay attention to what you changed in a spreadsheet or system and whether that effected the link in Grow. Again, we are a rapidly growing business so things are changing a lot. I sent a message to my "account manager" and she scheduled a meeting with me and a professional services manager. When it was time for the call, we were informed by the PSM that we no longer have an account manager. The PSM helped me through the process of requesting a cancellation of our contract. We went over a month with no response. All of a sudden our old account manager was back on our team. She informed me there is no way to get out of the contract and we would have to pay for additional help. The system is truly too robust for our business and even though it doesn't work for us right now, that doesn't mean it wouldn't have worked for us in the future. After this customer service experience, once our contract is over, we will never refer or come back to this company. It's astonishing to me that they won't do the right thing to potentially gain a customer back in the future or the potential referrals from our extensive network of other real estate homebuyers. Pros It is a powerful tool for someone who has the time to dedicate to it. The connections were easy and there were a lot of ways to customize. Cons The fact that they nickle and dime you when you need help and won't let you out of your contract when you realize it's just too powerful of a tool and does not work for your small business. The team at Grow have always been outstanding to help us solve everything from simple to very complex problems in our to achieve our reporting goals. Pros Can do almost anything with patience and logic, no need to distract developers to assist with complicated data queries. Customer support is outstanding, always taking the time to properly understand and help address anything you throw at them - very solution-focused. Cons Can be a bit buggy at times, especially after big releases, requiring more attention than I would like towards "fixing" metrics that were previously working fine. Can also be very slow with large data sets, some of which are just too big for it to handle. Switched from [Microsoft Power BI](https://www.capterra.com/p/176586/Power-BI/) PowerBI was way too powerful and developer dependent. The ability to integrate custom spreadsheets with real time data certainly make it a product to drive insights for marketing teams. It lacks the ability to create anything using ai or with any sort of speed. Pros The best features about Grow are the native integrations that pull in data. This makes building your metrics and dashboards easy. Their support team and engineers are very knowledgeable and helpful along the onboarding process. Cons The lack of templates for dashboards, especially in Marketing, where 90% of the dashboards and metrics are the same for all businesses, is my only frustration. Taking Google analytics and building a web traffic 101 dashboard should be simple, it just takes too long. Once you do take the time to set any metric and dashboard up, it does a great job staying updated and will show you exactly what you built. Pros It is vital to my every day, I used every day for 6yrs with my former company and when I accepted a position with a new firm I requested the new firm engage the platform ASAP. Cons The company was very " clever " on how it bills. They line item services and then list an incorrect total and then press for the difference. However, if the grow team can plug some of their shortcomings, they'd be a far superior product with a loyal user base. They're headed in the right direction though. Pros User-friendly interface and intuitive design, which make it easier to navigate and use. The typical workflow has a learning curve though (connection > warehouse tables > datasets > metrics) which can be confusing at first to the uninitiated. Customer support is knowledgeable, fast and excellent. Cons 1\. Datasource options need to be expanded. 2. The data inside suggested warehouse tables can be improved to be made more relevant. Too much unnecessary information that defeats the purpose.3. The grow team can do a much better job of creating educational resources on how customers can make the best use of each connection. The documentation is often outdated and not helpful. March 21, 2018 5.0 Pros What separates Grow from the other players in the SaaS BI reporting software space is three fold. 1) Price. I had a call with DOMO and actually laughed when they told me what their platform would cost me each month. Grow is affordable for small agencies, startups and small to mid sized companies - especially when you factor in the ROI it generates. 2) Ease of use. We looked at MSBI but it's complexities - especially around Google Analytics made getting our reporting up and running extremely expensive. Grow makes connecting data sources super easy. I was up and running with basic reporting the day I signed up. 3) Data scientists. In my experience with SaaS software, their onboarding calls can be a big time waster, simply because the people performing the onboarding, are not experts in the field but rather lower level employees who were trained to follow a predetermined onboarding process. My onboarding at Grow was presented by a real data scientist! Not only did he provide excellent training on the software, he made suggestions on how to tweak my reporting needs to show greater value to my clients. The combination of these three elements come together seamlessly to create a truly viable alternative to Microsoft BI, DOMO and Tableau. Watch out big guys! Here comes GROW! Cons Surely I could find something bad to say right? Not really! I guess if forced I would say that they need to be easier to find on the web. Some of our feature requests have made it to the product over time Cons Often times connectors get disconnected, and data doesn't get refreshed. Visualizations are limited. Pros Grow being a no-code BI tool makes it easy for almost all of our use cases. All of our stakeholders can track KPIs with relative ease even though they don't have technical backgrounds. Cons Grow is lacking in technical capabilities that most other BI tools are offering like Python capabilities, machine learning inputs, pre-built predictive analysis graphs, customizable roles and permissions for roles, and more. It elevated performance and helps us understand past, current, and future performance trends. This helps us model and predict future goals. We're excited to see all our data points in one place. Pros Grow makes displaying data from multiple sources very easy. We have many different data points that stem from multiple locations and user interfaces, and Grow displays this data all in one place and on many different customizable dashboards for the different departments that may want to look at the same data, but in a different way or combination. The charts, run rates, goal trends, and simplification of data presentation has streamlined our operation and made all of us extremely competitive! It's great seeing our teams' performance lift simply by giving greater insight into the business in an easy-to-interpret interface. Cons It would be a nice addition to layer in some gamification.
