December 19, 2017 5.0 Visualization into our ROAS, and one central place for all of this data to live. Pros I can use it. They've taken a complicated problem and made it simple enough for non-technical people to use and setup. I've now got a central place to go check all of my different ad campaigns from every channel, tied to the revenue that we capture in our database. It's truly magical. They offer a 1 month free trial and require you to meet with a data consultant 1x a week so you can onboard with ease. More companies should be doing this - I bet it converts like a boss! Cons Really reaching here - would love some color scale conditional formatting so I can quickly see the good/bad/ugly of cpcs or ctrs. Review Source Forrest D. Pros As a marketer who tends to geek out on performance data, it's been great to have a solid dashboard solution that allows me to connect multiple data sources, aggregate all the data and slice and dice to create visual charts, graphs and tables that paint a clear picture of how our marketing initiatives are performing. Cons Again as a marketer (vs. a data analyst), there is a bit of a learning curve at first when figuring out how to leverage Grow's data manipulation and filtering tools. But the Grow team has continually made improvements to these systems, which have dramatically improved the metric/dashboard building experience. My main criticisms, which are probably not unique to Grow, just revolve around the integrations that they provide. They are still missing some popular platform connections that we need. This has reduced overhead and automated several reports we used to have to do by hand. Pros This tool has expanded our decision-making capabilities in our small company in ways we could not have envisioned a year ago. Cons Some data integrations (namely Asana) don't play very nice so workarounds are needed. There is also a lack of transparency for stored data to verify it is still updating--this has led to decisions being made prematurely. Review Source Brad D. They have most of the integrations that most people need, but if they don't, they have some great recommendations for warehouses. They're very smart, and I enjoy working with them. Cons Although it promotes itself as a BI tool, I believe it doesn't have all of the BI qualities. It's a tool that allows you to create your own analytics, and metrics and has it refreshed often throughout the day. The tool does not do the thinking for you. While we have integrated most of the financial functions into one system, we still have a number of service systems that needed to be joined for executive reporting not involving spreadsheets. Grow.com makes our reporting fast and easy and allow us to make timely decisions. Pros Grow makes it easy to connect a ton of different data sources. The UI is quick to learn and easy to understand. Our clients typically need to share this with their internal leadership too. Our metrics are unique to the programs we offer and each client has different KPIs to measure, so we need a flexible (but not overblown) tool to accomplish this. Pros Extremely flexible because you can grab data to input anyway you like. If you can prepare your data in a google sheet, then you can easily import it and update it regularly. Cons The calculated data tabs are slightly difficult to use. Reason for choosing Grow Simple, just what we needed, not more or less. I've used other BI platforms, and yes they might have been more powerful, but I had to hire a developer to do what I needed to. For a business that needs to keep track of key sales metrics and employee metrics. Grow is perfect. Cons It took some time to get a handle on the spreadsheet functions. It works almost like Excel and Google sheets but not exactly. Some of the common formula commands are tweaked slightly and I had to train my self to use the Grow formula commands. I was able to produce the visualizations I had envisioned and along the way also received amazing support from the team that never failed to go the extra mile.. Pros I like that functions for SQL like JOINS etc. were made accessible to people that are not familiar with SQL but want to use those functions. Furthermore, GROW is also able to handle large amounts of data which is a huge plus point for me. Cons The concept of having multiple datasets were slightly confusing. January 15, 2021 4.0 Overall, this service has been the backbone of our company's data analysis. Pros The tool has many ways to break down the data for my team. Very simple to use and quick to stand up a metric/dashboard quickly. Cons There are some glitches that I've noticed (more recently since the update to Grow 6). One big one is that if I am in a metric and a co-worker jumps into the same one, they can inadvertently delete my work.
