Pros: The front end functionality is pretty good, though not as good as it was sold. Aloha was better. There are features such as drag and drop table transfers that are pretty neat. Splitting checks is very easy.

Cons: I researched Toast very thoroughly and went through many hours of Q&A with the sales team. I feel duped.

I should have dug deeper and gotten more personal feedback from current users.

The platform has certain features that are very good, but not enough to outweigh all of the bad.

Hands down the worst part of it are their service and support after the sale. If I ever get through to support, they typically have to call me back with a solution...which never happens. My account "manager" responds to every communication with regurgitated boilerplate BS and has yet to solve any of my issues.

We have frequent issues with our card readers, and our warranty period is up in November. They won't replace the crap readers with the newer upgrades.

You don't get nearly the functionality and ease of use on the back end that you pay for. The reporting features are weak at best.

The inventory module is terrible. They claim you can use the tablets to do inventory...which is true, but it takes 4x longer to do it that way because you can't select the fields to enter the numbers and then when you do, often times the quantities change. My account "manager" replied to my complaints about this with "Our inventory module may not be as robust as you need, maybe you could add on one of our partner software companies."

Short story: Run from Toast and never look back. I regret the move every single day.

Overall: The benefits we have gotten are overshadowed by the drawbacks.

Comments: With now being in business a full year now, I have and I still am learning pro and cons of doing business. I have worked in restaurants but I have never been on the manager/owner side and it's not as easy as you think it is. When running your own business for the most part you are on your own! I sat down with a computer tech to figure out the best POS system for my business. There are SO many out there and being unfamiliar with them a lot of research was done! I attended the Gordon Food Show a month before we opened and I got to see first hand how Toast worked. I was very impressed with the system and how easy it looked to operate (remember I've never been on this side of the business) and we had decided to work 100% with Gordon Food Service because of their support and looking at our best interest for starting our business. Now a year later, I could't imagine being with another POS system so no regrets here on choosing Toast for our POS!

Pros: Customer Support! - I rate them 100 on this!! Any questions I have big or small, they are just a phone call away! If my call isn't answered right away or I get busy, they have the feature to leave your number and they will call you back ASAP. Customer Service - Being a tech and answering some of the crazy questions (I'm one who probably has the most) they are always patient, friendly and very professional when answering questions.

Cons: Credit Card Processing Fees - With other Processing companies out there some are cheaper but overall with Toast, they win. It's the hidden fees you have to watch. Toast fees appear to be higher but what you see is what you get where with the other guys you have to read the fine print.

Pros: That is super user friendly. Fast and overall a great system. Seriously aside from what I write in the CON section. Toast REALLY is the best software POS system I have worked with. Hands down.

Cons: The credit card processing fees they initially promise you they can match your current rates which they DO NOT its a LIE. Then customer service never gets back to you or passes you on to someone else then someone else and someone else. Never follow through with their promises and never can get ahold of your sales rep and he doesn't reply or follow through when you finally do get him on phone. Beware they will not match your credit card rate like they promise you. They will overcharge you if you don't watch exactly what they are taking out of you bank account. You will get charged for modules they say they will " give you for x amount of months free" and then continue getting charged and have to wait months and months and make a million phone calls to try and get your money back for 'free trials they charged you for and your money back for when you told them you didn't want them at all after "free trail" and they continue charging you. Biggest advice is get your credit card rates in clear upfront writing and sit down and figure it out. Make sure they are not screwing you. Because its not only happened to us but several other businesses.

Comments: They grew too fast and lost sight of what they were doing. They have lost control and customers are suffering. We have had the system for 1 year and are in the process of purchasing a new system.

Pros: There are not many pros to this system. Appears to be easy when watching the demos however the reality is that if you do anything custom in your restaurant this is not the program for you.

Cons: The upfront cost for hardware is expensive compared to other systems. They will sell you on a low monthly charge however if you want to use all of the features that they will sell you on you will pay dearly. Just a simple integration with a scheduling program will add an additional monthly charge. They will tell you that their credit card processor is competitive however do your homework - you will find out they are way overcharging for what most processors charge restaurants. Tech support is almost non existent. They have started using third party re-sellers which has confused the tech support even more. The third party re-seller that we have had to use (after being sold on the product by Toast direct) have made our lives miserable with the "that's a toast problem" or "we will get back to you when we get an answer from Toast support". If you have to go thru a third party do not buy this system, you will no longer be able to contact toast directly for help.

Comments: We've had Toast for over a year and could not be happier. We never planned on switching from our old POS but after seeing a presentation of Toast we were blown away by the possibilities. Toast has increased our efficiency immensely which shows in our sales. We recently had over 10,000 people for our annual St. Patrick's Day Street Event. We've always been please at how easily it handles our volume, but wow, it ran smoothly and effortlessly all day long! We had 17 handhelds running and 5 terminals! We cannot say enough good things about Toast! We learn new things every day that increase our productivity!

Pros: Easy to use, reliable, good value.

Cons: There are still a few features that have not matured yet. A more robust ideal food cost tool that could integrate with more food vendors would be very valuable.

Overall: For over a year our organization searched for the right POS solution for us that would solve issues that our current provider could not. We had 65 locations in our brand and it seemed like they were 65 islands when it came to our POS system. There were many versions of our data base, and we were hampered by issues such as the end of life for our operating system.

Toast was one of many POS providers we evaluated, including all of the top names in the industry. Some of the most important considerations that influenced our decision included the system being cloud-based, easy to use, and easy to integrate with other technology. We installed the Toast POS solution for the first time in July of 2015, and have been converting locations since then. We currently have over 60 locations using Toast, and anticipate the rest of the locations to convert this year.

Awesome product, completely cost effective and easy to work with.

Pros: I have found their system to be very easy to work with and definitely cost effective. The thing I hated about the other POS systems that are IPad based is that a new Ipad is so ridiculously expensive to replace. And I don't know about y'all, but when you hadn employees tech, you better be prepared to replace it. I have added tablets in literally less than 20 minutes on a Friday night because I decided that day I wanted a phone station. It was easy to do, and I took care of it without support. But when I have had issues on Friday night, like when Time Warner decided to go down for a couple hours just cause, Toast was right there on the phone and able to walk my staff through the offline experience. The data is easy to get on the back end, and in real time. I love being able to log in and see what is going on at any given time. Or edit the menu because I forgot something from my recliner at home, if I am actually able to that day. Y'all know how that is, or will.

Cons: Their software is a constant work in progress, which is a good thing. They have added a ton of features since June 2014 when I started with them. There isn't anything I don't like about the system. My only complaint is they don't yet have a fully integrated scheduling system. That is coming though, and there are solutions that sync with Toast, but I just haven't gotten away from our spreadsheet system yet. Old habits die hard.

Recommendations to other buyers: I looked at Ipad systems, First Data's system and a ton of others. I did not find one that beat the functionality of this system for a lower price, and with a truly simple maintenance or replacement cost. It definitely helped to see a demo of the product, so if you can check out a live restaurant or get on the live demo, it makes understanding the experience so much better.

Pros: I most liked upgrades. With our previous systems, you bought them and that was it. We suffered for years without functions we wished we had. With Toast, if they don't already have it, you can bet it will be in a future upgrade.

Cons: It's what I like least but I appreciate: It's a LOT to learn, and it's constantly evolving. You really have to stay on top of it to get the most out of the system, but paying attention and a little research goes a long way.

Overall: The back end entry saves HOURS out of my week, and my employees are much, much happier with the ease of functions they use everyday (splitting checks, transferring tabs). I also enjoy the community and keeping in touch with Toast. It's not like one of those systems where a salesman comes into your restaurant, sells it to you, and never answers your call. Toast is constantly finding new ways to be a partner to us.

Pros: Toast seems to be the most put-together of the next wave restaurant POS. They offer a few styles of terminals for greater flexibility in the unique spaces that are restaurants. Toast also will take feature-requests, something the older generation of products seems to have stopped doing.

Cons: The ability to pull up custom reports and analyses are their weakest feature. Toast can also have very occasional connectivity issues which is scary in a restaurant setting.

Overall: Toast is a full-service POS that works for our three very different restaurant concepts, including a high volume bar, a deli counter and market, and a fine dining, multi-course dining establishment.

Pros: As a software developer I have had the opportunity to see this mobile application and I think it's really great everything he does.

is an excellent tool for restaurants where it offers a good system of administration of restaurants based on the cloud and where it calls more attention is its integration of points of sale to this software built in android operating system.

the application has a comfortable and easy to use interface and where there is enough documentation.

Its products include: receipt printer, cash box, kitchen display screen and card slip.

Cons: I really do not have a negative comment about this application, the only thing I can mention is that for a small company it could be a bit expensive to acquire this system.

I believe that this application can continue to grow and continue to improve its application more and more both in the backend and in the frontend to make it more attractive.

Pros: Your able to do anything you really want. With 5 stores I love the fact that when I make a change on one restaurant it make the exact same change on the other 4. Offline Mode is huge considering what we had before. 24/7 Technical Support is nice although at times they just tell you they do not know the answer and will call you back but 9/10 they never do call back.

Cons: Technical Support is so-so. Like I said, sometimes they don;t know the answer to a question and will tell you theyll call back but do not. Some features I like are not available yet but they are constantly doing updates so Im sure thatll change.

Overall: Toast has been a great overall experience thus far for my 5 restaurants. The functionality is amazing as well as the back end . All of employees hands down prefer this software over what we use to have. Offline Mode is amazing!! No more phone calls because the internet went down

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure to train your staff right after you sign the contract. Hold training meetings. Print out all of their useful tutorials.

Pros: Service, support, simplicity, reporting, integrated payment processing, online ordering, and overall functionality. When we launched our business, we had purchased a competitor of Toast's product that ran on iOS platform. Based on our needs and our gourmet mobile food business model, it seemed to be a great fit. But when we attempted to implement the other software, we ran into a variety of problems from the outset, and after 2 weeks of struggling to get the other system up and going, we realized we needed to find a different solution. Toast literally saved us! Their tech engineers were on site the day after we connected with them, and they set up up for success instantly! My favorite thing to say about Toast is that it just works! But it is also much more than that. It is a very robust and integrated tool that is available at pricing that is almost embarrassingly fair. A true "Champagne Product for those on a Beer Budget," to quote my uncle.

Cons: Inability so far to offer custom app(s) to help manage and monitor the business from remote locations. This is kind of nitpicky because the ability is there; it just requires signing into site. But I would like to have a self-controlled mobile app that I can use to monitor very specific data points on a real-time basis.

Recommendations to other buyers: Consider your mobility requirements and what wireless router issues you might have in different environments. Also, give careful consideration to how you structure your items from the beginning, so there is consistency as you grow and change.

This POS functionality is not the best. They will sell you what you want to hear but not deliver.

Pros: Not much, the POS does track customer info well but it is a long process to ring in orders and we can not mix cashing out at the register at lunch and the table at dinner. I told them this was important and the issue is just being ignored by toast. They promised food pictures could be loaded to tablets to display for customers, it cant do that. Our register after installing didnt balance out at the end of day, for 3 mo tbs thier answer was someone was stealing. I fired my manager and the drawer still wasnt balancing. They sent out a trainer and found out our system was set up on multiple wifis. This was three months of repeated check numbers on the same shift and several other operational problems. Toast only cares about collecting thier cash. I would recommend looking at other POS systems.

Cons: 1. Ringing in orders can be lengthy

2. We cant cash out at the register for lunch and table sideat dinner

3. You cant print from POS directly

4. You cant take pictures of food or drinks to show guests.

Comments: Tech support is hard to reach. You must use their credit card processors. Fought a chargeback, provided a signed receipt and still lost the case because Toast doesn't have an EMV chip reader and the card had a chip. Apparently and according to Toast reps anyone is able to get their money back if they have an EMV chip card. I know this doesn't make sense but it's true.

Pros: Toast is easy to use for the most part. I don't have a problem with the software it's quick and functional.

Cons: Inadequate credit card processors. Not emv capable. Susceptible to chargebacks even with signed slips. Do not honor their warranties of their hardware. Had to buy new terminals after a year and a half.

Pros: I enjoy the easy access without fussiness, it allows for customizable features that work for our restaurant, it makes updating menu items/labor simple instead of a headache that it was on other POS systems. I think the ease of functionality lies in their cloud based system that allows you to run credit cards even when offline.

Cons: There are some sluggish features within the software, however Toast happily accepts feature requests and has fulfilled a few of mine!

Overall: Peace of mind, modern and easy to use especially with staff who is accustomed to cloud based software.

Pros: user- friendly, simple, customizable, intuitive, fast.

Cons: Android's operating system took some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it then it's a cakewalk.

Overall: Toast can be whatever you want out of a POS system- you can customize all settings to fit your needs or if you want something you don't have to be too involved in and you want to keep it simple, Toast can do that too. They are always introducing new features and ways to make your life easier- and if you think of something they haven't added yet, you can request it and it will be added if other users and restaurants like the idea too. Hardware and software are integrated well and easy to use, and if there's ever a problem then 24/7 support (not robots, real Toast employees!) is only a phone call or email away.

Recommendations to other buyers: The automatic updates are wonderful as you never end up with outdated software shortly after buying it. Just like updating an app on your phone, it's super easy and is usually full of new features to check out and use to make your life easier.

Comments: run away from toast

Pros: nothing but a big headache from day 1. Salespeople gave me the wrong info regarding pre installation steps. Financing was easy through a third party leasing company but that way toast got paid up front for their product probably knowing full well they were not sticking around that long.

Cons: This company has been very shady. The claims to match credit card processing by the sale person has yet to be fulfilled. The hardware is poor quality and ipad would have been much better. The software is ok but is not as seamless as micros or square it seems as if it was not designed for a restaurant. There is no follow up and account managers are non existent problems go unsolved for months. During implementation the manager never contacted me for weeks then had the wrong dates for going live that is very poor service and unforgivable from a contractor. I was billed for extra hardware and services I never received as well. Square is a much better pos for a small value conscious restaurant and if you are doing high volume Toast will not match credit card processing rates as promised it seems like a big credit card scam so far.

Comments: We switched from NCR Aloha to Toast within our franchise system and it has been a huge leap forward. We went from an archaic product full of unnecessary layers of complexity to a streamlined solution that our entire team loves. Sure there are occassional issues as technology is an imperfect solution, but the Toast team certainly tries harder to resolve issues than some of the other bigger guys we've worked with in the past, including NCR.

Pros: UI is simple and friendly Software is modern and intuitive New features are constantly being developed

Cons: Level 1 tech support is just as useless as most other companies. Our assigned account rep has gone on vacation more in the past year than I have in my life.

Pros: The software is very easy and intuitive. We operate three restaurants and have it in each of our properties. It is nice to be able to conduct business for all three from one easy to use platform. The reporting functions is second to none.

Cons: The customer service leaves something to be desired. Have had occasional issues with software and hardware. Each time it is like pulling teeth to get the desired solution.

Comments: I would not choose Toast if I had to do the process over again. Their system is great but their hardware does not hold up specifically their tablets and CC readers.

Pros: Great backend system that is easy to use. Hardware is great when it works but thats not often. Love having the ability to know how the restaurant is preforming when I am not around.

Cons: Replaced 7 of 9 pieces of hardware in just over a year. 3 did not last 6 months and then their replacements broke down 7 months after replacement. We were told the warranty does not start over from the time of replacements and had to buy new equipment.

Pros: Ease of back end work making menus...reporting etc .

Cons: Not many cons that I can think of...have to reset register tablet fairly often due to unresponsive touch screen.

Overall: Fantastic customer service. Easy to learn if you have prior computer and POS experience. Reliable and efficient

Recommendations to other buyers: More beginning training...I was able to understand the system fairly quickly but I have an IT background. I know of another business who implemented toast and were very frustrated with the lack of training as far as making the menu. My advice would be to not focus so much on attempting to make the "starter menu" for the client but rather use the time to show them how to make their own menu from scratch. There are different little quirks about how every restaurant prices their menu, and while toast does extremely well in allowing for those, where they are lacking is making the customer comfortable in making those changes.

Toast will change your business for the better! Save your business money with toast! New toast customer.

Pros: We love our Toast POS system! We have been with Toast for a couple of months now and it is one of the best business decisions we have ever made! We used to have to pay 2 separate companies for POS and one for online ordering.. with Toast it's ALL IN ONE (and cheaper than both of the old companies). Toast also offers very thorough accounting and inventory software that makes it easy for us to see where o. ur money is coming and going! The software is very user-friendly. We are happy we joined and can't wait to see what this growing company has in store for the future!

Cons: Would like the option to have both digital and print receipts available after every transaction, I'm sure they will find a way.

Pros: The biggest benefit to our use of the software is the inventory control. We are a dessert bar, so our daily inventory is finite.

No need for an 86 List.

Cons: What I like least is the inability to change the Tip Percentage or the Order that the Tip choices appear on the Quick Order paying with the Pad. It has made us have to use paper....the First Choice, should not be No Tip.

Pros: It's all in one.

Cons: When something goes wrong with the system and I lose connection (which practically happens in every software, I guess).

Overall: I love my Toast POS because it's easy to navigate and I like it that I get the reports I needed in a flash. I have a very busy schedule that I must admit I don't know that "ins" and "outs" of the POS system but I few click here and there I'm able to get the information I needed when I needed them. I'll probably be more happy if I'm able to find time to just explore what else are there to find that this system can do for me. I usually enroll in the webinars offered to members but at times, I even don't get to finish the webinar because I have to attend to calls, customers, and vendors when they are in my place of work. But I try anyways. Thanks for a great system.

Recommendations to other buyers: None at the moment (maybe next time).

Pros: We started using toast and to be honest I wasn't in love with it. After two months I genuinely loved the service. As the manager I spent two months daily as the cashier and learned the system like the back of my hand. The better you know your POS the better you know your business. Toast has an extensive FAQ section where they cover almost everything. Their staff is so prompt with responding and if they don't have an immediate answer they will forward you to someone who does. Since I have moved from PC America and Revel at two of our different stores to Toast and the staff have been raving how it immensely helped them do their jobs.

Pros: Easy to use and very simple and clear layout for each screen. And it is very easy to modify new changes. And the website is reliable to give most current updates in sale and labor and other statistics.

Cons: I wish that an apple app will be available soon to make it easier for management staffs to check on immediate statistic. Also the customer service takes forever to reach every time we call. And the customer service representatives respond in emails , most of the time they don't really know what the real answers they are providing but some generic email templates. And they will ask you to call them if you have any questions. So yes, you are back to square one.

Comments: A couple of years ago Costa Vida completed an extensive search for a POS system that would replace our outdated Micros 3700 platform. After reviewing more than a dozen options, we selected Toast and launched our first location with them in July of 2015. Immediately we saw improvements in speed and processing. Our cashiers learned the system quickly, and were able to fly around the screens inputting orders. The customer support during the past couple of years has been outstanding.

Pros: It is quick to implement, quick for our people to learn, and has proven to be very reliable.

Pros: I like that you can access all information from virtually anywhere there is internet access - you don't need to be on a POS tablet/station.

Cons: There are some clunky aspects - the first that comes to mind is that you are unable to access archived users and re-activate them yourself. You have to email or call support in order to access their records. In an industry where the workforce is ever changing - this doesn't really make sense.

This system has a reporting system that let's you see from anywhere how business is performing. The online menu is a feature all customers will love with a layout that is mobile friendly. Overall: My restaurant had a Micros POS system for over 12 years. When we expanded and renovated, we had to expand our system. Micros was too expensive and we began to look for alternatives. We chose Toast after looking at many options and it was a great choice. Restaurant specific so they understand what restaurants need. Very intuitive and with all information in the cloud, easy to change items, prices anytime and get real time reports. Great support, too. Highly recommended.

Pros: Ease of use is the biggest pro for Toast. From initial training through menu editing and reporting, everything is very intuitive and easy to understand. I can hand a new server a tablet and they can input an order without any help, right from day 1.

Cons: Right now it is not pizza based. It works, and works well in our restaurant, but things like changing the size of a pizza are not possible right now. I hear it is in the works though.

Overall: It increased efficiency and accuracy in every part of our restaurant. The reporting is incredibly detailed, yet easy to navigate.

Pros: The dependability and ease of use. The cost isn't bad either!

Toast is light years ahead of the old legacy system we had prior. I'm not sure how we made it this far without it.

Cons: Support. I've have to call back several times when I need an issue fixed. This has happened on several occasions.

The agents are polite but always assume the issue is with a setting, even when it's clear that the problem is a bug.

Pros: Multi-screen use, Cloud-syncing, and cataloging of receipts are some of my favorite features. It's very user friendly. I can do all of the tasks I need to do from one device.

Cons: I think that the syncing between screens can be extremely lethargic. Also, I feel that the performance really depends on the day. Some days we have to reboot and restart the entire system. Other days, we get it from the get-go. In addition to including register information, I think it would be better to fully include a report to the owner when we close the registers. We have an external app that he made to count all of the coins and spare bills so we can report them to him. Also, the receipts for daily amounts earned are entered into this app and sent to him. I think it would be better and easier if it was integrated into Toast

Pros: Toast is our third & last POS & we love it. Software is easy to learn, does everything they say it will & it provides more data points than you'll want, so you can see what you do want to see. Super easy to add menu items & photos. When you call support you get a real, english-speaking person who knows how to deal with your issue. Communication from Toast is high quality & consistent.

Cons: The credit card processing fee is a bit high but it is NOT costing us more than before; I had just hoped to save a few dollars in this area.

Pros: Easy to modify and update, whether at the terminal or remotely. I love the ability to use my android phone to access checks and modify items while maneuvering through the restaurant and managing my staff. It's basically an extra terminal. I've used many pos systems and I have to say that this is about as feature rich and user friendly as you can find. They have tons of resources and videos to help guide you if you are unsure of something. I will recommend, have a tech help you install and set it up.

Cons: GUI is rather basic and sometimes unintuitive. This could be a result of previous systems training me to think a certain way regarding pos interaction but regardless it's happens. It's definitely able to be overcome.

Pros: Ease of use for our staff. Most of our staff have little to no experience with POS when we hire them, but toast is such an intuitive system to teach/learn that they pick it up very quickly and become proficient in no time.

Comments: Software is not nearly as innovative as they claim. Yes they use a cloud but when toast is having issues and their whole cloud goes down you cannot do much. None of your tablets and terminals will talk to each other, you lose tabs and you cannot process credit cards. This has happened at peak times for us and is a huge inconvenience.

Another big draw back is that if you own a bar/restaurant like us this isn't a system that's ahead of the curve. You are not able to accurately track your bartenders indivual sales. You also don't have the ability to precisely see when/what exact time sales are being made. It's very hard to notice this until you actually get the system at your place. I pointed this out to several people at Toast. Most of them were unaware this was the case. They told me it would be dealt with and then two months later said it wouldn't be because Aloha didn't have it as a feature, (which I found out later they do) and also because they felt not enough customers were requesting these features.

One more thing is that they overcharged us for the startup equipment and debited $500 more than they should've. They eventually correct things but had I not spoken up they never would've.

Pros: The hardware and quick editing make this an efficient method for restaurant server and mod use. The screens are easy to edit as well.

Cons: The customer support is TERRIBLE. We were even given wrong information from the trainer before we started using the software. We are often on hold for extended periods with no response and the majority of our help tickets go unanswered. All of our credit card machines have malfunctioned in the three months that we have had the program. The tablets are also not spill proof and have glass screens making it incredibly restaurant unfriendly. The reporting is thorough but has consistent flaws and bugs. Editing checks in difficult and many basic management tools require multiple steps.

Comments: This is one of the best POS systems I have had the opportunity to work with.

Pros: Easy to use system with an intuitive setup. They are also willing to develop features which are not currently supported

Cons: This is a fairly new platform; as such some features are still under development. Mostly reports are not as easy as they could be to breakdown, but they are getting easier.

Pros: Toast is a great POS system. It is easy to use for both front office and back office features. I like the constant updating of new features!

Cons: The one area that toast needs to work on is hardware shelf life and customer support. We have had issues with credit card readers on the tablets and have not gotten much support with the support teams.

Pros: We've had Toast for 2 months, and the comparisons from our old system to this system are just night and day! The ease of menu changes, contacting support, using the system on my laptop while I'm home on a day off-I'm a much happier manager. The staff all agrees that it's much more intuitive, and when there is a problem (wrong tab closed out, remove an item from the bill) it's so much quicker to solve.

Cons: I love that it's so much more customizable than our last POS system, but (sometimes) that necessitates there being more clicks per order. The money tray for the registers are smaller than we're used to. I wish there could be a bit more room in each money slot.

Pros: It's cheap. Other than that I'm just writing words to reach the 100 character minimum. This seems like a tech start up run by 25 people who saw a market opportunity...

Cons: Nothing about this product is streamlined for high volume bar use, I.e: extra prompts, two extra steps for every drink upcharge, sliding tablet screens left and right, no simple repeat buttons and so on. Tech support for the west coast is questionable at best.

Pros: Toast is a great POS for our restaurant. I have found it to be much more easy to use than our previous system. It's great that we can make changes to our menu from outside computers and have access to the entire system from out of the restaurant. It's great that I can update my menu and make adds and changes without being at work.

Comments: Thank you Toast for helping to streamline the process by which we order food and beverage and provide accurate , easy to use handheld ordering tablets and back of the house programming features and reports.

We no longer need to walk away from a table with a customers credit card in hand, great for improving customer security. Additionally, most customers sign the tablet and opt out of receiving a paper receipt, saving hundreds of pounds of paper anually and helping to be a greener establishment.

Additionally since orders and entered right at the table, the number of errors in ordering is dramatically reduced, again helping us improve overall customer satisfaction.

Lastly, Toast has repeatedy demonstrated superior customer service by helping adjust our system requirements to meet the needs of the high volume nightclub business that supplements our dining and banquet sales.

Pros: Sleek system! I looked at many Tablet POS systems and Toast was the only system that ran smooth without any lag. Meet just about all my needs. Delivery, Online Ordering, House Accounts and more. Great system! Super simple to teach new employees how to use it!

Cons: Would like the ability to pay House Accounts in directly on the POS not just online. Would like to be able to have a setting that makes it so all delivery orders automatically print. Currently the only setting is for To Go & Deliveries. Should be just Deliveries. Online ordering does not have coupon code capability. NEED THAT SOON... Delivery fee is set as a gratuity for the employee. It is not a gratuity. Need to change that as even though it is paid to the employee it is a reimbursement of expenses and not taxable.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great system. Still some work in progress but the key features needed are in place and work well.

Pros: I like the functionality, customer service, consistency, and value. Toast POS as a product is an absolute no brainer. Issues with operations are experienced very sporadically (every other month or so) and dealt with quickly and efficiently. The interfaces are simple and easy to learn. You will save a ton of money and the hardware is not proprietary, which allows you to use it for other purposes and source it from wherever you like (Android based).

Cons: Quite frankly there is literally nothing to complain about this software or the company.
