Pros

Several aspects of the program we use everyday, from POS to labor tracking

Cons

Not the easiest to use. I don't like the way reports and options are displayed.

Overall my experience has been great. There have been issues, but they’ve been resolved. The only thing I’m waiting on this point is someone to acknowledge I cancelled a few subscriptions that I’m still being billed for.

Pros

Toast is incredibly user friendly and all of my employees have found it easy to use on a daily basis.

Cons

I feel like inventory management could be improved.

Pros

We started using toast and to be honest I wasn't in love with it. After two months I genuinely loved the service. As the manager I spent two months daily as the cashier and learned the system like the back of my hand. The better you know your POS the better you know your business. Toast has an extensive FAQ section where they cover almost everything. Their staff is so prompt with responding and if they don't have an immediate answer they will forward you to someone who does. Since I have moved from PC America and Revel at two of our different stores to Toast and the staff have been raving how it immensely helped them do their jobs.

My overall experience is good. We are pleased with the features that it offers. Our staff does need a while to learn where all of the item buttons are. The modifier buttons seem to be in different locations for different items.

Pros

Toast is a good program for our industry. It will run many reports that are helpful. The connection to a mobile phone is great because you can do almost anything from the mobile phone that you can do from the desktop.

Cons

Since the pandemic, customer support has been very difficult to contact. Our franchise is taking in customer support from Toast so that we can get help when we need it. It does have a learning curve that is difficult to learn very quickly.

Frustrating calling into customer service. Long wait and incompetent. Clueless when you talk to the rep after having to click 18 options before you get to a live person. Better yet, assign a case number and a month later, go through the same process of 18 clicks before getting to someone on the phone and only to find out the case is still open.

Pros

As an administrator, the backend reporting and analysis is pretty easy to navigate.

Cons

Syncing with payroll has been a big issue but seems to be getting better.

Hardware maintenance can sometimes be a challenge, and need some development in enterprise menu management. Otherwise, software is very good and Toast team has been great to work with.

Pros

Ease of use, conversational ordering is great. Easy menu programming. Online ordering also works well with our provider and credit card processing is very good.

Toast is flexible for multi concept companies where you need the POS to perform differently while still having the ability to manage and report multi unit operations

Pros

The whole system has been great to work with. From implementation to daily use it is very streamlined and operational. Ease of use and intuitive process reduces training time for new staff. Easy to change data quickly from anywhere in the building

Cons

Some of the report is basic and could be more specific or drill down more.

Pros

Toast is a light weight tablet pos system that is fairly easy to implement and support. Its a smaller less encumbered system than Aloha POS which we used previously. That said its not as full featured when it come to multi location management as Aloha POS.

Cons

The support on Toast is the largest issue we had. Each time you have an issue you have to start with square one at support. They dont offer account reps or any such services even with the initial roll out.

Being able to access everything through my laptop/phone. I was accustomed to other POS systems before, and I really ended up preferring Toast.

Cons

Off the top of my head, I can’t think of anything. Every system will have a flaw of some kind, but nothing stands out in my mind.

Pros

Toast offers the simplest POS interface I've ever used, if you can work an iPhone or iPad, you'll be flying through this system with no issues.

Cons

I really don't have anything to say negatively about Toast, at first I was worried about the learning curve, but that was practically non existent.

Overall considering all of Toast's features is it virtually unbeatable for the price for pizzerias and QSR's. If they just improve their delivery features it would be perfect.

Pros

Pretty easy to set up menus and make changes on the fly while integrating with 3rd parties...Also excellent reporting features

Cons

Their driver "module" is not very robust. It is very difficult to see which drivers took which deliveries at the end of a shift. They should implement a simple report to be able to see which driver took which deliveries. Delivery mapping also needs work.

Very pleased with our decision to replace our old solution with Toast.

Pros

Very feature rich with a robust online delivery platform that seamlessly integrates with the POS solution. Synchronization is almost immediate and we have seen a huge increase in online ordering already. The self service kiosk was easy to setup and has a great look and feel

Cons

Overwhelming and we have barely begun to turn on all the other features - customer loyalty, customer feedback, delivery and so on.

Pros

We have used several POS systems in my restaurant. After trying Toast, I was convinced it was the best. We have had multiple issues with credit card readers not working with promises of new ones (which we have never received) so that’s my only complaint. The ease of use is great and when the cc works, there isn’t a better system.

Cons

Credit card readers don’t connect properly and sometimes they don’t work at all. Punching in numbers costs my restaurant a lot of time and money with higher fees.

The ability to review sales and labor from anywhere.

Cons

The labor does not update live to the minute online. If you are having to check labor from your phone or PC you have to drill down into the labor tab to get live data.

Overall I think after a lot of research and a couple of trials Toast seemed to be the best option as a long-term solution. I believe it can grow with us over the years.

Pros

One stop shop plug and play solution! I was not interested in having to switch between systems and wanted easy reporting across the business.

Cons

Takes a while to learn all the functionality but worth it once learned. Although it’s not a problem with the software itself, either a better hard copy training manual or disk would be helpful.

It frees up bottleneck at traditional computer terminals

Pros

Toast is an easy to use platform that allows you to streamline POS transactions through the use of handheld POS. The handheld POS can perform cashier functions, ordering, statistical tracking (total sales, tips, % of sales by category, etc.), and its' portability offers freedom on the go. Being a Server, I am able to take orders tableside and perform payment functions from almost anywhere.

Cons

It's cloud based so make sure you have a strong internet provider. Spotty internet connection can stall the entire system.

Love the software and so does our staff! Expansion options were a major consideration as we have more takeout locations opening so this was a winning solution for us. Works Great!

Pros

Its easy to setup! Configuring was straight forward and easy to understand. The user interface for servers is nice and offers a wide range of options to customize for the needs of your staff and restaurant. Offering a vast selection of options for takeout and delievery.

Cons

No real cons, can seem pricey at first, once we looked at others with the same features and options, the price became less of an issue.

I was a POS technician back in the day and this is some of the best put together software I've come across. Seriously.

Pros

Like the title says, it does literally everything I want it to do. I have the options for gift cards, online and mobile ordering, and I just got the inventory management module and it's just a freaking dream.

Cons

It's got a few bugs -- one is updating the current inventory without our permission. It'll suddenly give us a heads up that it's decided that we have 4 plain bagels when we clearly have sold 3 of the 5 we received in the morning. I'm sure I've got a setting messed up in there some where that's making it do that.

The customer service is by far the best part. Any issues we had, their reps would stay on the phone with us until they were fully solved.
