Good experience. Sometimes servicdd ex was slow. But they hired more people to hdd as file the work load. It’s been more smooth lately.

Pros

The transition from Aloha to Toast was very easy.

Cons

There is worked involved in setting it up, but once done, it’s worth it.

Love the system, great customer support, love the analytics.

Pros

I can access it anywhere with my Android based phone. Check sales or help solve an issue. Editing buttons takes seconds and over all had a very easy layout. Online ordering is synced with the tablets so when I 86 an item it is out everywhere. I like that I can email or text receipts and do e-cards quickly at the terminal. There is now a new feature that if a server needs assistance immediately they can send a text to the manager on shift and it tells the manager what terminal to go to.

Cons

Learning the cash register system was very confusing.

From start to years later every process has been easy and customer service is always there to quickly answer your calls.

Pros

the ease of use our staff quickly gets the hang of how o use the system so training is quick.

Cons

we had a few things that we did not like when we first started but through the years they have started implementing updates so they have heard all our concerns and features we all need to operate.

The people have been nice and are trying to fix this so I'll say overall it's been a 2/10. We were sold a BROKEN system not optimal for our establishment. The sals pitch sure looked great but with no live support and testing, it's been a complete disaster. I can see how for Applebees it would be fantastic but here it's plain terrible.

Pros

Main terminal seems like it's well built

Cons

The handheld does not work and no matter what toast support has done it's not working. A support Member was sent to us to fix it arbor other location but arbour main location, it's still broken and has been since we opened. The smart tipping feature will not work. Tip pooling is a joke. There is no X report function etc...

### "Not worth the hassle "

Pros

It’s nice that we can order in straight from the tables. There’s no limit to the categories and buttons you can add.

Cons

It’s internet based and in the south we often have inclement weather. We had one incident where it got fried during a power outage. Inventory is not the best. But my biggest problem.... is customer service. You stay on hold for 20/30 minutes almost every time you call. And most times the live chat is no better. You wait only to told to call and then you’re on hold for another 30 minutes for a 2 minute issue on their end. I’ve been hung up on twice and had one agent end the chat without resolving my issue. It’s a nightmare and one of the worst customer services I’ve dealt with.

Pros

Toast has so many features to utilize! As a GM, the reporting was user friendly and easy to generate! It was so mainstream and I love that automatic reports I could sent up to send to myself every day.

Cons

We have issues with overloading the system at times. It took awhile with support to finally get our printers set up correctly in the kitchen. But set up with a new system that your business is 100% reliant on takes times and navigation to work out the kinks.

Ease of Set up ( self install) and ability to make changes on the fly

Cons

There are some reporting features and menu features that would make things a bit easier ( Ability to turn menu's off on scheduled times without having to build another, ID check hold for Alcoholic purchases)

Pros

The best part of this product is its customer support, Always available.

Cons

There is a wait time when booting up. Often if customers come in early to dine, the product has a lag time before usage.

Pros

I love that I can access Toast from home or the office. It is fairly easy to find all the reports I need and super easy to enter new employees. This has made our payroll much easier and our hiring process a lot smoother.

Cons

The customer service could be better. I have had great luck with most of the things I have needed help with but sometimes it can take awhile to get a resolution.

It is easy and modern, but if you have a high-volume business you may want to avoid using Toast.

Pros

The way you can manipulate the software to work with your own business. You can change how certain employees can use the P.O.S. for the position they are in.

Cons

Too many updates... Almost everyday. Lots of Connectivity issues, especially when using the handheld devices. The credit card readers go offline a-lot. The P.O.S. seems to crash a-lot.

The features it could have and we could leverage, if we could get the basics to just freaking work!

Everything else. Learning curve is steep. Clunky interface that is very unintuitive. Back end is a hot mess of word salad. Who designs this?

It's been great. The last POS that we used was not nearly as efficient and easy to use on a day-to-day level. The split check options is GREAT and the credit card transaction time is much faster than with our last POS.

Pros

Easy to learn how to use. Easy to teach others how to use. And it's a great value.

Cons

The fact that it's cloud-based can be a bit of an issue if the internet goes down.

For over a year our organization searched for the right POS solution for us that would solve issues that our current provider could not. We had 65 locations in our brand and it seemed like they were 65 islands when it came to our POS system. There were many versions of our data base, and we were hampered by issues such as the end of life for our operating system. Toast was one of many POS providers we evaluated, including all of the top names in the industry. Some of the most important considerations that influenced our decision included the system being cloud-based, easy to use, and easy to integrate with other technology. We installed the Toast POS solution for the first time in July of 2015, and have been converting locations since then. We currently have over 60 locations using Toast, and anticipate the rest of the locations to convert this year.

Pros

Easy to use, reliable, good value.

Cons

There are still a few features that have not matured yet. A more robust ideal food cost tool that could integrate with more food vendors would be very valuable.
