### "Great POS System!"

Toast is a super easy POS system to navigate. The restaurant I work at just all of a sudden switched over from Micros to Toast, and everyone seems to love Toast. There have been a few glitches here and there, but each issue was resolved. Customer service was always more than willing to help. My coworkers and I quickly caught on to this POS system, and no one misses Micros at all.

Pros

Toast offers training through their website, which is something I took advantage of for sure. We all had to quickly learn Toast, and the online training through Toast University was amazing. It made learning the system very easy and quick to pick up.

Cons

Honestly there hasn't been anything negative so far that I have experienced. However I'm just a user, not the administrators. Their answers might not be the same, but I think for the most part everyone appreciates how simple Toast is.

Pros

Toast POS is the best cloud based tablet POS out there. Their reporting is easy to use, and accessible anywhere this is an internet connection. Everything is laid out intuitively and on the front end, the staff find it very easy to use.

Cons

We wish their support team were more responsive. Several times we have reached out with a question and haven't received an answer.

Very intensive interaction between all integrated productions within Toast as well as outside Toast.

Cons

Working with the support group and trying to figure out with Case Numbers, CX Service and Customer Care tracking.

Servers learn it quickly, managers can learn back end easily too. There are also a ton of data points available in reporting function.

Pros

Toast is our third & last POS & we love it. Software is easy to learn, does everything they say it will & it provides more data points than you'll want, so you can see what you do want to see. Super easy to add menu items & photos. When you call support you get a real, english-speaking person who knows how to deal with your issue. Communication from Toast is high quality & consistent.

Cons

The credit card processing fee is a bit high but it is NOT costing us more than before; I had just hoped to save a few dollars in this area.

Nothing is perfect...improving operating readability and customization will improve in the future.

Pros

On line, up to date on a real time basis of all that is happening in the restaurant.

Cons

Some ordering information is hard to customize on a day to day basis. Have ad some outages that cause havoc in operations and cash collection.

Pros

Toast is user friendly and I have have been helped several times when calling customer support.

Cons

Tutorials could be more available, for example I still don't know how to properly set up a cash drawer in the restaurant. A Toast Representative coming in person to answer questions would be helpful.

Overall it has been a great experience and a seamless transition from our previous POS system.

Pros

Very easy to navigate and super easy to customize from the POS device itself, don't have to make trips to the office. It is very in depth with its customizations and sub menus. Also love how I can access the back end information remotely from any device.

Cons

There hasn't been many issues with the software itself, just sometimes with the hardware. The printers they provided we have had to replace and sometimes their servers do go offline.

### "A struggle from the start and failure into grand opening 2 weeks later"

This POS system has been a struggle from the get go. I was only allowed 2 terminals for 185 seat bar/restaurant. I understand that COVID has impacted supply chain so then I ordered 2 hand helds and a wireless printer. The handhelds showed up but never the printer. A week later I was told they no longer support wireless printers even though I was sold one, which never arrived. Now into live mode. I've been active for a week and processing cards then in the middle of service my system reverted back to test mode not allowing me to process CC's. I had to comp a LOT of money out which was extremely frustrating for a new business. 2 hours on the phone I get it resolved and then 2 days later it goes back into test mode again and now I had to shut my doors down a day prior to opening and still it has not been resolved nor will they allow me to get copies of phone records. I would NOOOOT recommend this POS system as ther customer service has been terriblwe sand their is no urgency in getting us live again in an urgent matter.

Pros

The fact employees can clock in and out thru the system

Cons

The customer service is beyond usefull and you will spend hours and hours on hold

Pros

The ease of use. All of my managers and employees always say how easy the system is to use after training. The customers love the rewards and being able to access everything on the tablet right at the counter.

Cons

There are certain limitations that are irritating. They are always minor, but you inevitably find yourself saying "I wish you could do that this way instead of that way."

The POS works great until it doesn’t. Level support barely better than experienced users and that’s not 100%. Level 2 is much better but almost impossible to engage with them. Accounting information and support very poor close to non existent other than reporting.

Pros

Order POS is pretty straight forward and works well.

Cons

Support is weak. Financial and backend support and information is very weak.

Reason for choosing Toast POS

Lots of functionality, integration with other software, and versatility. It's constantly evolving and improving.

Cons

Toast has made processes at the lodge so much faster. You can swipe a card and start a tab and close that tab with two button presses. The members love it because they don't have to wait nearly as long as when we had micros.

Pros

Toast is good because you can make it whatever you want to be. You can add your modifiers, sales are easy to ring in and close, and everything is where you need it to be.

Cons

Some of the more simple functions like repeat an item are not easy to find.

Pros

Relatively easy to use interface though programming new adds to menu etc can be challengin

Cons

Been with the software for 9 months - for the last couple months customer service has been hot or miss with level of competnece and responsiveness. Think its probably a talent issue. You either get someone who knows what they are doing or someone who is reading from a manual and clueless

Steer clear of this company. I have 18 units using Toast and I am having to go through the painful process of switching to a new POS system because their service and support is non existent. Their staff is to inept too even onboard new locations.

The same as all other POS systems, nothing special

### "The Hand Held Device is Groundbreaking"

While getting my ơn business under way, I was a gẻneral manager at Banditos Cantina. I have been in the hôspitality business a long time and mostly used Micros. I was introduced to Toast Systems and it blew my mind. The hand held device has changed everything. No more waiting for a terminal to put an order in or print a check. You can do it from anywhere in the restaurant. Increases in sales, típ and table turnovers where through the roof!

Pros

Not having to go to a terminal to put in a food or drink order is amazing! It saves so much time and hassle.

Cons

Had no problems with the system during my time as manager.

Complete waste of time and $$… there are better systems and WAY BETTER customer service people out there. STAY AWAY FROM TOAST.

Pros

Pros? It’s supposed to make things easier, which it does, if they install it correctly.

Cons

Too many too list. CUSTOMER svc is NON EXISTENT. They lie from the sales person to the onboarding consultant and there are no managers that actually care about the customer.

Tech support is hard to reach. You must use their credit card processors. Fought a chargeback, provided a signed receipt and still lost the case because Toast doesn't have an EMV chip reader and the card had a chip. Apparently and according to Toast reps anyone is able to get their money back if they have an EMV chip card. I know this doesn't make sense but it's true.

Pros

Toast is easy to use for the most part. I don't have a problem with the software it's quick and functional.

Cons

Inadequate credit card processors. Not emv capable. Susceptible to chargebacks even with signed slips. Do not honor their warranties of their hardware. Had to buy new terminals after a year and a half.
