### "Worst Service Ever!"

Pros

Hand held terminals are fast and efficient. Guests appreciate the speed and simplicity.

Cons

Their support is abysmal. We have not received our credit card swipes for over a week. My and my staff’s calls to the company (4) have been handled with long holds and promises of call-backs that never happen. They have a week’s worth of our money and yet have the audacity and utter bad judgement to drain our bank account for payroll! Why not use OUR money that you have already imprisoned? Why the need to steal more?

Toast can be whatever you want out of a POS system- you can customize all settings to fit your needs or if you want something you don't have to be too involved in and you want to keep it simple, Toast can do that too. They are always introducing new features and ways to make your life easier- and if you think of something they haven't added yet, you can request it and it will be added if other users and restaurants like the idea too. Hardware and software are integrated well and easy to use, and if there's ever a problem then 24/7 support (not robots, real Toast employees!) is only a phone call or email away.

Pros

user- friendly, simple, customizable, intuitive, fast.

Cons

Android's operating system took some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it then it's a cakewalk.

Pros

I used this as a vendor, and loved the UI's simplicity and ease of use. Everything ran, ran fast, and remarkably never crashed (even on iPads that were...less than stellar).

Cons

The price seems I guess steep, but considering it's a B2B kind of app, it really is in the right range.

A couple of years ago Costa Vida completed an extensive search for a POS system that would replace our outdated Micros 3700 platform. After reviewing more than a dozen options, we selected Toast and launched our first location with them in July of 2015. Immediately we saw improvements in speed and processing. Our cashiers learned the system quickly, and were able to fly around the screens inputting orders. The customer support during the past couple of years has been outstanding.

Pros

It is quick to implement, quick for our people to learn, and has proven to be very reliable.

Pros

The interface is easily customize-able on the fly which is a necessity in a fast paced restaurant.

Cons

Would prefer if there was an option to have "speed screens" or better functionality specifically for bartenders.

Peace of mind and a relaxed workload.

Pros

Easy to modify and update, whether at the terminal or remotely. I love the ability to use my android phone to access checks and modify items while maneuvering through the restaurant and managing my staff. It's basically an extra terminal. I've used many pos systems and I have to say that this is about as feature rich and user friendly as you can find. They have tons of resources and videos to help guide you if you are unsure of something. I will recommend, have a tech help you install and set it up.

Cons

GUI is rather basic and sometimes unintuitive. This could be a result of previous systems training me to think a certain way regarding pos interaction but regardless it's happens. It's definitely able to be overcome.

Cons

Nothing! They are unprofessional! Only excuses! After one month they didn't make the deposit of the merchandise, they say that the person in charge of my case is on vacation! I'm still waiting for my money but the guy is on vacation! That means that a Company like Toast doesn't work if an employee is on vacation!

Pros

It is pretty full-featured but you still need third-party add-on apps to make it a complete POS package (things as basic as employee scheduling). These apps cost more money, so beware.

Cons

Getting things set up for third-party app integration was a real pain. Not the app integration itself, but getting them to enable it took a long time, so far it has been two and a half days. They claim it would take 24 - 48 hours which seems ridiculous. Third party apps are what make this system complete but Toast hasn't found a simple way to integrate them like a lot of their competitors have. We use Clover at our other facility and app integration is easy and immediate. We have only used this for a couple of days and not starting off on the right foot.

Pros

I like that you can access all information from virtually anywhere there is internet access - you don't need to be on a POS tablet/station.

Cons

There are some clunky aspects - the first that comes to mind is that you are unable to access archived users and re-activate them yourself. You have to email or call support in order to access their records. In an industry where the workforce is ever changing - this doesn't really make sense.

Overall the Toast program is on the best that I have used. I would recommend it. Not a big fan of the tech side due to lengthy wait times for repairs.

Pros

It is very easy to use the POS and train employees on. I love the ipad functionality of it. There is training online for the POS.

Cons

It has many features that I need to learn more about. We have one system down and it has been 2 weeks now due to waiting on the tech team.

Toast sent over a 3rd party contractor to help install the system. Only for 2 hours plus 2 1/2 hours of drive time for them, and we had nothing that was in their scope of work to do. Although, they help is we paid them separately. We get to the finish line and Toast sends over some shady shysters wanting to get paid by Toast and me.

Pros

cloud base system with more functionality

Cons

Toast makes lots of assumptions on set-up. One, is that everyone is an IT major. Two, there is no help with hardware installation.

Pros

What we like the most about the software is the constant upgrade, how easy it is to use, the back office is fantastic!! We had Micros before we switched to Toast and it's like we came out of the dark age and into the modern world!

Cons

Honestly not much we don't like.....maybe that SOMETIMES it lags. We don't experience that too often but it does happen from time to time.

Pros

The hardware and quick editing make this an efficient method for restaurant server and mod use. The screens are easy to edit as well.

Cons

The customer support is TERRIBLE. We were even given wrong information from the trainer before we started using the software. We are often on hold for extended periods with no response and the majority of our help tickets go unanswered. All of our credit card machines have malfunctioned in the three months that we have had the program. The tablets are also not spill proof and have glass screens making it incredibly restaurant unfriendly. The reporting is thorough but has consistent flaws and bugs. Editing checks in difficult and many basic management tools require multiple steps.

Pros

Toast is an approachable new POS offering that makes it very simple to onboard and learn and their support is fantastic.

Cons

The interface is a little bit dated in its aesthetic, but still, it is a very simplified and easy system to adapt to.

My restaurant had a Micros POS system for over 12 years. When we expanded and renovated, we had to expand our system. Micros was too expensive and we began to look for alternatives. We chose Toast after looking at many options and it was a great choice. Restaurant specific so they understand what restaurants need. Very intuitive and with all information in the cloud, easy to change items, prices anytime and get real time reports. Great support, too. Highly recommended.

Pros

Easy to add, change or delete items. Great for getting real time sales reports as well as items sold in real time. Always updating as more users offer feedback.

Cons

Sometimes a little slow.

The software allows for a lot of functionality, but only if you want it. If you don't need to use a function you don't need to mess with it after the initial setup with Toast's menu team.

Great system that the company is constantly improving. Make keeping track of business and easy. This system has a reporting system that let's you see from anywhere how business is performing. The online menu is a feature all customers will love with a layout that is mobile friendly. The rewards program needs a little work yet with how points cannot be assigned, but is worth the investment. Overall a great system to have.

Pros

Easy of use and great Tech support.

Cons

Rewards program to recognize phone numbers and names when assigning support. Tech support need to assign ticket numbers so it easy for you to talk to the same Tech person.

It increased efficiency and accuracy in every part of our restaurant. The reporting is incredibly detailed, yet easy to navigate.

Pros

Ease of use is the biggest pro for Toast. From initial training through menu editing and reporting, everything is very intuitive and easy to understand. I can hand a new server a tablet and they can input an order without any help, right from day 1.

Cons

Right now it is not pizza based. It works, and works well in our restaurant, but things like changing the size of a pizza are not possible right now. I hear it is in the works though.
