### "Toast Review"

April 22, 2026

4.0

Generally good. Support can be pretty lacking for the backend and a lack of knowledge seems to exist in that regard.

Pros

The retail inventory UI makes it easy to work through inventory trends and identify products for reorder.

Cons

Inability to save table column organization for recall. No report building wizard. OOS items cannot be sold and do not show price when recalled from the POS station. This is a major drag as any incorrectly OOS item really slows down checkout. Showing price would atleast allow for quick checkout as an open item.

### "Great POS System!"

April 29, 2026

5.0

Overall, we have had a great experience with Toast. The program is intuitive and I love the different subscriptions and programs that are available. Troubleshooting is easy. The point of sale is easy to update and the staff likes the interface.

Pros

Easy to use, in depth reporting, employee time management and scheduling with sling. Fast support response time. Sales data syncs with our accounting system seamlessly and is highly customizable though xtrachef.

Cons

Permission sets for employees can be confusing. We also use xtachef. The xtrachef add on is robust and can be a little counterintuitive

Both systems did not have the features that could keep up with our growth and needs. Toast has everything is one place.

### "Something for Every Company"

August 8, 2025

5.0

Overall, my experience with Toast POS has been great. Programming is relatively easy and intuitive to figure out. The reporting features, tip management, and online ordering are just a few of my favorite things about Toast.

Pros

Ease of use for front of house team members, and guests and the many different features that Toast POS has that can be specified to our needs.

Cons

Support calls can take a long time to get to the right department and have someone know how to fix the issue.

### "Beware! Toast may take your money and give you nothing in return"

January 19, 2026

1.0

I purchased a gift card for someone else on Dec. 24, but the restaurant I bought from was closed, permanently. My first question is why is Toast taking $100 for a gift card when the business is closed? Of course, when I learned the restaurant was closed, I called Toast's customer service. They said I need to get the refund from the restaurant, which is ...closed. They said there is no way for them to refund me. \[sensitive content hidden\] got right snippy too when I asked for a supervisor. He said I could not talk to anyone else and told me since I have nothing else, he was going to hang up on me. So, basically, I now am out $100 because they have no oversight. Like many of these companies, it's all good until there's a problem. When there's a problem, Toast has absolutely no plan at all for the consumer.

Pros

It was a very easy way to lose $100. They list restaurants, even ones that are not open, so be careful!

Cons

Toast sold a gift card for a restaurant that was no longer in business. They have no customer service for users. None. At. All.

### "Strong POS system"

July 29, 2025

5.0

I really like the system and consistently recommend it to all my clients. Toast POS is reliable, user-friendly, and well-suited for restaurant operations. It has become a key part of how we manage and streamline day-to-day tasks

Pros

I migrated to Toast POS four years ago and have been very satisfied ever since. It’s a reliable, restaurant-focused platform that covers everything from front-of-house to back-of-house operations. The system is intuitive, stable, and continues to evolve with features that truly support daily restaurant management

Cons

Although Toast POS has improved a lot over the years, there’s still room for improvement in the inventory management features. It works for basic tracking, but more advanced inventory controls and reporting tools would make a big difference, especially for multi-location operations

I switched from Clover mainly because of the poor customer service experience. With Toast, I found not only a more robust platform for restaurant operations but also a much more responsive and professional support team

### "A POS worth your time "

September 24, 2025

5.0

Positive. Our team has found most of the features really helpful to our business, and we have 5 different stores, all using toast. We've had a few bumps, but they've never ignored us, or made us wait.

Pros

I've been using toast for seven + years, and the big reason I stick with them, is they are always adding new features. Some, I don't use, but I've always appreciated the new things, along with off line payments when our local provider has issues.

Cons

Pricing. It's not expensive to get into, but they like to add charges ( monthly ) to everything. It adds ups but if it can make you more money, than I don't see an issue with them getting their beak wet

### "Toast Gets The Job Done"

November 28, 2025

4.0

Pretty good! I don’t have a ton of experience with POS systems, but Toast is my favorite of the ones I have used.

Pros

I like that it is cloud based and from the admin side can be accessed from anywhere, allowing for easy remote work.

Cons

The biggest con is that you are not able to export order details into excel to use pivot tables and other excel functions. Als that when viewing an individual check on back end, it is not full screen

### "Best Toast Ever!"

April 15, 2025

5.0

My overall experience with Toast POS was a very positive one. In the restaurant industry it is imperative to be quick and efficient with entering your orders - since the customer's satisfaction depends on it. With Toast POS, this was very doable. It was easy to access the food and drink menu and modify orders in a timely manner. It as easy printing out receipts and closing out checks after payment. Having a simple yet quick system is imperative to making sure a restaurant runs smoothly - and Toast allows just that.

Pros

I would use Toast when I was working at my waitressing/bartending job. Toast was such an easy system to utilize. I really liked the layout of the ap and the display of the system. It was very user-friendly and easy to access and read which is important for a fast-paced industry like restaurants.

Cons

I've worked in a lot of restaurants before and have used a number of different POS systems and Toast has always been one of my favorite.

Great product easy to use and train employees on. Gives a great amount of important information .

Pros

The ease of understanding daily sales. The mobile app allows me to track Sales when I am off property right on my phone

Cons

They make changes to reports but the legacy reports gave better information. Getting in touch with a sales rep is difficult.

### "Good software, terrible support!"

August 21, 2025

1.0

The system itself is pretty good, as is the hardware. The major problem, and the reason for the one star review, is the absolutely disgraceful customer service and support! We lost over £20,000 in the first month of using the system, due to complete negligence by toast staff in supporting us with basic issues, and set up of the toast system. We was literally abandoned after we received the hardware and banged our heads on the wall trying to get help. We was then sent 2 additional KDS screens, which was an apparent mistake, and was then told they would be taken back, but instead, Toast slipped the subscription for the 2 additional screens into our monthly bill. Further to this, I have been trying to contact several members of the toast team so we can send the system and hardware back (as we certainly won’t be using it again) and, surprise! Zero response from Toast. The toast system also blocks many QR code/mobile order payments for no apparent reason, which Toast states is a bug they’re working on, but of course, I never received answers for questions I posed on this matter. Do not waste your time or money dealing with these cowboys! Chargrill Cabin, Camber Sands

Pros

Software works well and is efficient, if set up appropriately! Hardware is of good quality and works ok.

Cons

Appalling customer service following delivery of hardware. Support is absolutely awful, literally non-existent.

Overall it speeds profitability through short training, consistent operation, while allowing for quick transaction.

Pros

Cons

### "Outstanding POS system for restaurant"

April 13, 2025

4.0

Positive experience and manage to keep Toast Tables, Toast Go and kitchen display in sync. No more confusion during dinner service.

Pros

Toast POS not only solve our issues with table turn and bottlenecks, it also gives solution for back-office management automating cost management and daily sales report. The task is too repetitive and burdening our office clerk to keep-up with all the data, Toast POS gives the solution and helped to keep everything smooth. Handhelds device for contactless payment is the winner as customer don't have to head to cashier to make payment and can pay the meal from the comfort of the table. All the payment is securely process by Toast payment processing.

Cons

Labor scheduling system is confusing to use. We ditch the system and just use our old manual system to manage the shift. We might give the system one more try if Toast POS customer success team can help to train and configure the system for us.

### "They will say and do anything to make the sale after that you're on your own.."

April 9, 2025

1.0

Pros

I've never had the chance to use my system. Unfortunately my cafe never got off the ground due to the landlord having a bunch of illegal apartments in the building. TOAST was amazing during the selling of the product but as soon as things went bad for me they played games and lied to me until it got to the point that I've now been paying for a system that has never been out of its boxes, for almost a year. They were so helpful and responsive until they made the sale and then literally just tossed me around, lied to me and trapped me into losing $1000's of dollars, so be very very careful. They pushed hard for the sale including making me believe I needed this system before I really did and now they're just more if my money wasted for nothing. I'm not saying they aren't a good system, I can't say, but I can say they're "caring customer service" is a crock that will disappear the minute your only is signed on the contract and they will lie and do things to make sure you're trapped. At the beginning I was told they couldn't do anything about it, now they say it's been too long to do they lied to get me past the 90 days and then acted like I didn't tell them what was going on. I highly recommend getting EVERYTHING in email or text. Do not believe anything you're told over the phone or they will screw you over

It’s been great! It’s a very organized software which makes it easy to do things both in person and from home online.

Pros

The pros is a lot of the sales summaries can be located online which makes it easy to look up specific bills etc.

Cons

I don’t love that the POS can only have on bill open at a time. It makes it challenging for buyouts.

### "Toast POS for your restaurant"

February 7, 2025

3.0

It's been decent. The sales push was a bit too much. I felt rushed. The dangling of discounts that were going to expire etc...The system has worked well though for the last few years.

Pros

It's ease of use. The plug and play setup.

Cons

There's not enough of a rollout. Lots of seminars and video conferencing but for my personality, I would've liked to have a rep show me some hands on traning.

### "Toast POS Review"

December 18, 2024

5.0

Overall, I was happy with Toast. It was easy to use for the most part. There were some minor issues and some servers or bartenders did not like it. We did find that most had some previous experience with it so training was easy.

Pros

Toast was great! We used it in both our food truck and our brick and mortar. Having multiple screens was great and the convenience of the handhelds was great!

Cons

Their set up process is horrible. No support for the set up. Basically just have to find and then hire a guy to set it all up for you.

### "Not the best overall, but the best modern choice"

October 29, 2024

4.0

A one of the longest running TOAST users, almost 10 years, I love it because it's functional, easy to use and customize, if you know the program. If you don't have a TOAST expert on your internal team, it can be challenging as customer service is poor and they don't have operational experience that relates when you are trying to resolve an issue.

Pros

Ease of implementation, interface, and reporting. Very functional if you take the time to learn the system. TOAST central database has lots of e-learning and resources at your fingertips. Like how many integration partners there are.

Cons

Customer support is lacking. Phone support is painful, Follow up by assigned managers is one sided. Most companies are better of hiring TOAST independent contractors to set up and manage their systems. TOAST fees including credit card processing fees are very high. Lastly there has been a very big known and detrimental outages

It was supposed ti be easy. It is not for a small business. Be ready to be a full tech ex0ert with zero help.

Cons

I was on the phone for 34 minutes and not one person could figure out how to reinstate my account. But you better know they still charged my account even though I had zero access.
