We've completely customized Toast to our business. Everyone from the floor to the office loves it. Our staff loves it. It makes their job a lot easier. Taking orders and payments at the table is easy. Toast's online ordering is perfect. I can look at sales on our phone and make menu changes from my couch at home. We're able to make our customer's lives more simple with Toast. I once had a customer ask for a receipt from a transaction she made 30 days ago. I was able to find and email it to her in less than 3 minutes. Toast's support team is willing to bend over backwards for us. Our old POS charged us for support and reporting. With Toast, it's free.

Cons

How detailed it is, there isn't something they didn't think about when building this product

Cons

Cost, Its pretty pricey but you get what you pay for.

Pros

Love the ease of use. Simple to train staff and easy to pick up. Functional for the front of the house. Back office features are easy to use.

Cons

Reporting could use work. Make it simpler to print reports. Still some functionality that needs to be worked out for back office.

Easy to use and update. Great support also 24 hrs and helped instantaneously. Menu features also great .

Need improvements in labor and inventory features. 1. Unable to track full-time employees salary 2. Inventory is not coordinate with food sales

Pros

Employee integration, it's as simple as one two three, or ABC, training on toast is simple and fast, I just hired an employee who had never used a pos system and had her up and running in just 1 hour.

Cons

not all features work in offline mode, but its a step in the right direction when internet isn't available

I don't like how when it updates we occasionally have problems with things dissapearing but we usually just put them back in no biggie

This app does help our office order food together especially with Covid, has made it safe for us.

Pros

Toast is a very easy and user friendly way to order food for our office. I like how straightforward the steps are on the app to order.

Cons

I don't like when the app takes awhile to load which happens often. I think it gets backed up a lot with a lot of orders and it lags and leaves you hanging.

We are able to see real time inventory levels and sales of our baked goods and write precise production schedules for our kitchen. We also have the inventory module and love the costing and menu mapping.

Pros

Ease of use when training incoming staff. The software is very intuitive and easy to teach/learn.

Cons

The "cupcake" problem...not having the ability to create drop down menus to select a specific number of flavors/cupcakes to put in a box - and - have those choices deducted from the running inventory in real time. However, the Toast Tech's found us a workaround, it is however, slightly cumbersome.

Cons

I wish the clock in/clock out functions were easier to integrate to our payroll company. Also, I wish the exporting spreadsheet for payroll was more customizable.

Pretty easy for our general manager to use l. Additionally, our employees find it pretty easy to use.

Cons

Tech support has not been the greatest. There are times we have called and have. It been able to get a resolution as quickly as we would like.

It is easier to navigate the back end than other software we've used. Easy to modify buttons and add buttons.

Cons

To get to some items it takes too many clicks/taps. Especially when clocking out. There are 5 steps when it just needs to be one-step.

As an owner that's trying to spend less time in the business this software allows me to do that. The highlights for me are the ease of accessing the reporting, how intuitive the program is for our employees, our tips have doubled, and having online ordering! The expediting screen in the kitchen has really cut down on our mistakes and ticket times. Everyone we've worked with from the initial sales call, through the training, and customer service has been spot on. You guys are running a great business and I know you guys will continue to rapidly grow.

So far after a solid month of using this in a busy restaurant we have come to realize that Toast has just entered their awkward teenage stage--willing to try everything but everything just falls short.

Pros

Price point allows for multiple terminals, easy to edit closed checks, easy to track closed checks (and email them), good depth of modifications.

Cons

Terrible fire courses, random items are sent to the bottom of tickets, tips at close out appear in three different sections, no fast and easy BIN system, no direct integration with Binwise or Avero, no direct integration with RESERVE, cannot see 'fire' times, no way of assigning seats on a fast bar screen...

This software is super easy to use, it's very self-explanatory. I also love that it emails you receipts automatically. No need to enter email address.

Cons

No cons. If anything, I wish more local bars and restaurants used it. It's very user-friendly and simple.

Before Toast, my POS was old and full of glitches. Toast is extremely easy to use. From day one, it felt familiar. New tech can be scary but we felt comfortable with Toast right away. I access reports on my phone every day, wherever I am. I'm able to hold my staff accountable no matter where I am. I could never do that before. We no longer have a line of servers standing waiting to input orders at a terminal and overwhelming our kitchen. My staff loves running credit cards right from the table.

Its a really dynamic solution for table side service. Offers great speed and a vast array of options. It makes payment and ordering a breeze.

Cons

It doesnt have all the bells and whistles as far as other pos compared to some of its competitors but its very close and they are always adding apps !
