Ease of use, all the features that are available.

Cons

I was used to a POS company that would send IT support to my location to help resolve issues. Toast does not provide this, but does provide phone support to help walk you through it. My only negative to the phone support is that it is sometimes difficult to get through to someone

Very good Despite the few technical difficulties that occur at times .

Pros

This POS system is much more advanced compared to others I have used prior. There are many options for inputting whichever items and functions are needed within your business. The overall appearance of this software is much nicer. I also enjoy how user access changes with position ranking, and verification can be implemented for certain features which helps to deter possible theft or misuse. The sales reports are also extremely thorough . Overall, this is a great pos system for all occupancy levels.

Cons

There have a been a few issues with the connection dropping/printer not receiving orders despite our internet working fine. This has caused quite a few times of commotion due to our high volume occupancy levels which left our kitchen backed up for at least 30 minutes to an hour depending on how fast customer service could resolve the issue. Of course since it is an app it will be prone to crashes, but it is extremely inconvenient when it happens during a rush.

I understand nothing is perfect however when you combine it with a lack of customer service this drastically decreases the value of the product.

Pros

Easy setup, very intuitive, easy to train employees

Cons

The customer service is very poor. They don’t even pretend to care. If able I would post the corespondents I have had with the company. Extremely poor however they are quick to bill or sell you an add on.

Pros

Easy of use for employees, intuitive interface, and barely any technical problems over the course of a year.

Cons

Reporting system is good but lacks some options I would like to see. Labor reports are great if you use Toast Payroll (I assume) but need some work to to be used with other systems.

### "Toast POS has everything you could want in a POS system! "

Toast is easy to use which makes training new employees a breeze. We rarely experience issues with Toast, but if we do, customer service is very attentive and solves the problem quickly. I don't have any bad things to say about the POS system or the Toast team!

Pros

The inventory feature on Toast has revolutionized the way we track our products. Being able to enter recipes, add invoices, track waste, etc. - and do it all in one place - is awesome. And the fact that it is all so easy and user friendly is just a bonus!

Cons

We receive a sales report from Toast each morning, which is great. It would be nice if in this email there were a few specific reports that were pushed to you, as opposed to having to click "full report" and pick and choose what you'd like to view on the website. For example: weekly sales summary, hourly sales, payroll detail, etc.

Toast had everything that we were looking for in a POS, and more!

Overall this is a great system. Easy to learn and easy to use.

Pros

The inventory management feature is probably the best feature to me.

Cons

It is difficult to add a food item to the menu. You can’t close the system down for the night with an open tab.

It is easy to use, 24/7 support is very helpful, and it streamlines ordering, order management, and collecting payments.

Setting up different modifiers is sometimes difficult.

Pros

I would like to have someone get me the upgrade, but there is no one to speak to.

Cons

There is zero account management. I have several issues that are critical and I cannot get one person who is capable of making any decision or even sending me to the right place.

Again, Toast was once a good company. This is no longer the case.

Software is ok. Customer service and support sucks

Pros

Ease of use. Intergrations. Overall it is a decent software. Just service and support sucks

Cons

Poor customer service. Reps don't call back or followup. Customer support is always busy with long hold times. Waiting 2 months for a refund on equipment that was returned that they charged my account for. Get run arround from customer support. Account rep never replies to emails or calls.

Overall, Toast is far more superior of a product than my last POS. While there are some pretty big issues still on the table, I know that the support team is working diligently to make changes for the better.

Pros

It is amazing what you can accomplish when you have a solid POS that can integrate to other products. Toast has literally cut my back-office time in half, by partnering with the software companies I use for payroll and accounting. Toast delivery has saved me a ton of time and wages.

Cons

There are still some major kinks that need to be worked out. XtraChef has not been consistent, although customer service has been great. The Toast Delivery functions are limited and almost impossible to navigate if a customer needs to change an order; ie it will not allow us to update an address, change from delivery to pick-up or change a timed order. We need more flexibility to help our customers.

Over all, the system is easy to use and is accessible anywhere there is an internet connection.

Pros

Pros: The FOH part system is very user friendly. Con: Reporting is sometimes a challenge when running specific reports.

Cons

The system has some manageable challenges when internet service is interrupted. It would be great to integrate a back up system that would allow the handhelds and tablet communicate with each other as long as their connected to the same network. No matter if there is internet service.Another idea would be in integrate a back up hotspot for when ever internet is disrupted.

Reason for choosing Toast POS

I have used Micros, Aloha, and Pinnacle in the past. Toast out performs all of them in functionality.Great job Toast!

Overall my experience is indifferent. While I am occasionally irritated with this system other days it functions fine but overall it is still mediocre. I would recommend it to someone with a strong encouragement of researching the program to see if it is the best system for your business.

Pros

system has a VERY short list of pros from my time using it in my restaurant. One of the only pros is the easy-to-read menu set up. While There are not many features or anything about the system that I found unique or helpful, there are not to many bad elements that stand out either. It is a simple and mediocre system.

Cons

The biggest con of this program to me is the ridiculous amount of time it takes the systems to download and log on, not just first thing in the morning but periodically throughout the day. There are also issues with set times and online orders being updated because all systems must sync variously throughout the day as well. The system is not user friendly or easy to use right away and takes more time getting use to than past systems I have used.

### "Daily Toast POS User"

I find it to be a simple platform that is very user friendly.

Pros

I enjoy how many items can be displayed throughout the system within endless categories. It is very simple to edit the spelling of a product, the price or the quantity you have remaining. Adding more products is just as easy and for the food and bar industry we all know how many modifications guests request (and you can never have that many buttons), so the "special request" option, which allows you to type and charge whatever you would like below a certain item ordered is a lifesaver.

Cons

It is frustrating that Toast categorizes every product alphabetically. Additionally, our company has had better credit processing company offers but we are locked into Toast's credit processing and higher fees.

### "Best for Bigger Restaurants "

Pros

There are so many POS devices in a Restaurant and Toast has one device that can take order, Create and Take Payments all in one and that is more easier for servers.

Cons

The Bar Order taking and Payment terminal should have autodiscovery that has reachable IP addresses in the same network to be able to link it easily.

### "Toast is a modern and still growing POS and restaurant management product"

Toast has helped us organize and stay nimble through aggressive company growth. Looking forward to the next period with Toast where we adopt their HR, payroll, and scheduling features.

Pros

Toast allows users to log on to its website to edit menu items, run reports, track punch-in's. In the past, POS systems were loaded into desktops in the back office. It's so refreshing to update, edit, and from anywhere because it's based off a website. The devices that Toast has selected for installation in the restaurants are modern, slim, and highly functional.

Cons

Toast can slow down, which isn't good news when the restaurant is busy. The sales tracking is still not as robust as I would hope from a product that does so much else so well. For instance, it can be hard to get results on the sales of a menu item for an entire year.

### "Online ordering is a mess"

The system is slick but they don't help you get it going correctly.

Pros

Great analytics but the on boarding and follow up customer service is embarrassing.

Cons

I've been trying to set up online ordering for weeks now. It's been counting a lot of problems because of the basic lack of customer support. They are responsive but spend a lot of time telling you how they understand where you're coming from without actually solving any problems. It got so ridiculous that I asked a basic question about how toast had approved a test transaction outside of the 5 mile delivery radius and what happens if a customer did this. The agent I was poking with actually told me that she didn't know what would happen, or even if those delivery services was functional right now. I asked her frank advice as to whether or not I could trust the system I if I turned it on and she said she didn't know. I was supposed to receive a follow up call from a manager this morning and have now been waiting by my phone for two hours past the appointed time. Also, I was actually charged a fee for setting up online ordering when I first got the system. Just embarrassing.

Very good! In all my years that I worked as a server, was by far my favorite POS system.

Pros

I loved how easy the POS system was to operate and all the additional features Toast has compared to other POS systems. Also, the handheld tablets make service 100% more efficient.

Cons

One big complaint I can remember is that when customers would use gift cards, and the gift card wouldn't fully cover the balance, the tip percentage would only reflect the balance that was left on the bill, and not the subtotal before the gift card was applied. This would result in very low tip percentages sometimes because most customers do not understand this.

Toast hits home runs on almost all aspects of a restaurant POS but the issues with being able to process payments with any reliability is unacceptable.

Pros

Integrations, ease of use, flexibility of what parts you wish to use, interest in feedback, hardware is amazing.

Cons

Support is outsourced and often unknowledgeable about problems.

Overall the program has promise but if you have a large menu and like your tickets in a specific format you will have difficulty trying to make it your own. I think as they become bigger and they hear more feedback they will hopefully become better at the restuarant industry.

Pros

The software has some features that are convenient such as the ability to pull up a customer receipt then either email it to them or text it to them. same with retrieving credit card payments etc. You can program new items easily. You can mark items that are low or out of stock and the server will see the prompt when they try to place an order.

Cons

The handhelds are fussy they lose connection easily which can create issues with ghost checks etc. The back office reporting is generic and feels like it's in the early stages. The credit card deposits are always off because they have a problem from when they merged American Express with Visa/Mastercard, so I always have to go back into my accounting program to change the total, this has been going on for over 3 months and they have still not fixed the problem.

TERRIBLE!!! It was halfway decent when we started but their menu development was terrible. they need to survey restaurant users about how much the system has deteriorated over the past 2 years. I would never recommend this system to anyone

nothing.....everytime there is any change or system maintenacne, everything falls apart.

Cons

UNRELIABLE!!!!no one in TOAST can troubleshoot because system has gotten too complex and no documentation exists. they keep patching and adding and it's a total disaster. our printers are always messed up!!!! we never know if the system is going to work or not. the reporting is terrible!!! phone support is poorly trained if at all.

Love that it is built on the android platform and technically you can use your android phone to run the system.

Cons

Since it is cloud based, if your Internet goes down your POS will still run but in "offline mode"

It is great that you are taking advantage of the Android platform! We like to think of our Offline Mode capabilities as a pro. As you know, your internet connection may go out from time to time, but it does not hinder the ordering process thanks to the local area network connection provided by the router. Offline Mode allows you to continue to place orders, print tickets, and receipts, and take credit card payments until the connection is reestablished and you are back online.

Pros

As a software developer I have had the opportunity to see this mobile application and I think it's really great everything he does. is an excellent tool for restaurants where it offers a good system of administration of restaurants based on the cloud and where it calls more attention is its integration of points of sale to this software built in android operating system. the application has a comfortable and easy to use interface and where there is enough documentation. Its products include: receipt printer, cash box, kitchen display screen and card slip.

Cons

I really do not have a negative comment about this application, the only thing I can mention is that for a small company it could be a bit expensive to acquire this system. I believe that this application can continue to grow and continue to improve its application more and more both in the backend and in the frontend to make it more attractive.
