### "Keep looking - Toast is awful"

Pros

The ability to quickly and easily implement online ordering during COVID

Cons

Don't do it! We've been using Toast for 3 years now and it's awful. Outages during our busiest times, with no support or guidance on how to get through them. Useless technology for pop ups and festivals (we lost $600 when we tried to use the handheld at a recent festival), and terrible customer service. For example, we tried to re-implement QR codes and was told they won't work because our menu is too large?!?!?!? When I asked how to resolve this, they couldn't provide any guidance.

The ease of use of the POS, the reports, payroll

Cons

There was nothing really I didn’t like I guess if I had to choose it would be the ability to contact the tax area of toast

We used Toast for online ordering & counter service, as well as a second terminal that runs online catering ordering for the shop downstairs, and bar service / order processing for an events venue.

Pros

Toast makes it very easy to customize settings, services and web sites online, and most of their support team is top notch.

Cons

We've had a lingering tech issue since June 2019 that causes an error message to be sent to our users, even when their order is okay and approved. We've had to invest way too much time trying to fix this issue, and it's still not resolved.

Accountability for myself and my entire crew has been top notch with this program.

Pros

Ability for Kitchen screen, Inventory, Daily Reports and summary, Ability to transfer tickets to other servers and servers availability to edit and add to other orders for busy evenings.

Cons

There really isn't anything I do not like about this software. It is an incredible program

AccuPOS was just fine for a smaller scale of sales, but we have grown into a very successful bar/steakhouse with multiple employees on the floor, at all times, and our banquet room has been building. We needed a new program that was more diverse with our multiple seating areas

### "Big Problems w/ 3rd Parties"

for the last two weeks we have used Toast the 3rd parties are still not set up correctly, there is ZERO RESPONSE FROM UPPER MANAGEMENT INCLUDING THE \[sensitive content hidden\] OF TOAST, they just send you links to articles for you to solve problems on your own, meanwhile charging $600 per month, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TOAST AT THIS TIME

Pros

when Toast is fully functional its great

Cons

Totally lack of ownership from Toast w/ regard to 3rd parties, Toast continually blames the 3rd parties for their own short falls, losing thousands per week because Toast does not know how to set up 3rd parties

Five stars, we have not left yet and recommend to all our other restaurant owner friends.

Pros

Easy daily use and modifier options and report options. We had to submit an insurance claim and everything requested was available through Toast.

Cons

Hit/miss with customer service. You either get someone excellent that can walk you through the issue or someone with no clue that keeps you on the phone rather than transferring to someone who can assist.

Overall i really like the system. User friendly and quicker for the servers.

Pros

Love the easiness of the handhelds, the order is ready feature is so helpful and make it easy to find items and edit items as needed. Some of the support team is amazing and very knowledgeable and easy to understand and patient that I am not computer savvy.

Cons

Sometimes I am put on hold too long or the support agent isn't familiar with my issue. Some support techs aren't as familiar with the system and can't help, they do end up getting me to techs that do know the answers. The customer invoice section needs an easier way to edit the invoices besides voiding and putting them back into the system. If there is a way, the tech that i talked to needs shown.

I'm paying over $500 per month and there is no support. wait I'm sorry there is support. there is email support, articles to read and don't forget the videos, but that doesn't work when you are in a real time situation. wait, they do have phone support, the worst. we know more than they do and were calling them for help. its like the student teaching the teacher!!

Pros

hand held ordering. tableside payments. and a few other things.

Cons

the worst support of any company i ever dealt with. I'm currently paying $75 dollars per month for integration. almost a month in still doesn't work. online ordering 3 weeks in still not functional, gift cards still not functional. I could go on and on.

Peace of mind, modern and easy to use especially with staff who is accustomed to cloud based software.

Pros

I enjoy the easy access without fussiness, it allows for customizable features that work for our restaurant, it makes updating menu items/labor simple instead of a headache that it was on other POS systems. I think the ease of functionality lies in their cloud based system that allows you to run credit cards even when offline.

Cons

There are some sluggish features within the software, however Toast happily accepts feature requests and has fulfilled a few of mine!

### "first blush review of Toast POS"

it is a huge program with many options. As a result it is hard to navigate and the service side of the equation, the back side administration personnel are knowledgeable and available but their response is always 'Here is how you can do this yourself'. That is not my idea of service. When I was promised certain services and performance I expected there'd be someone to facilitate that, considering the monthly fees I am being charged. The way it is set up I have five different emails and names of people who steer me toward what need to pay someone else to do. As a result all the additional services go un(der) utilized.

Pros

It works in the basic ways we need it to work as others have.

Cons

The promises for a large integrated system have not come together.

Reason for choosing Toast POS

Because you promised services that I could not arrange or seemed less efficient with Clover. Now I am regretting because I am paying more for the same service while all the additional services are not in line.

Pros

The customer service with toast system is amazing. I have called at least once a week for the past two months learning features and everything there is to know about the POS. I have never waited longer than 1 minute for a real live person to answer on their customer support phone number. Every time the guys are so helpful and quick. They explain everything and are available 24/7 seriously it’s 3:08AM and they just got done helping me set up scheduling through the system. I highly recommend

Cons

The only concerns that has come to our attention is the processing fees. But all processing fees no matter what system you use is high and adds up every month. It’s nots toast fault credit card fees are high and that’s the banks not toast

### "So much issues with connectivity"

Last 2 years have been bad. They must of changed something now I have load of problems especially connectivity issues.

Pros

Its easy to use and has a lot of functions

Cons

Every time they do update which is often 4 times a year it throws the pos off and i have to call to reconnect it!! So annoying and they are so busy I have to be on hold for 30-45mins!!! They need to hire more people!! I wont use toast anymore

### "Great POS for restaurants "

After over a year the restaurant is still super happy with the switch

Pros

I was hired to help customize, train, and implement this new software at a friends restaurant. I have worked with a few different POS systems and this was by far the most user friendly. Easy to customize their menus and check preferences. Easy to update if we figured out how we originally entered in an item needed to be changed. Cloud based so when not on sight I was able to fix remotely when not at the restaurant. Also the handheld option is great for taking orders and splitting checks on the fly. Also were able to implement gift cards with the new system.

Cons

No real cons. The only downside was the initial few days after switching for the staff to get used to it.

Overall, the experience has been positive, with the exception of having a dedicated Toast employees to ask questions of, we are referred to the toast classroom.

Pros

Toast is mobile for administrative purposes, it's live reporting, and easily used from mobile devices

Cons

I don't have control of processing fees, I don't have access to customized reporting

Overall experience is very dissatisfactory with . We have yet to switch software but may need to in the future since it's inadequacy is costing our business to lose customers.

Pros

Bar staff likes software. Simplicity and integration low rate.

Cons

Integration with accounting was time consuming with little assistance from Toast when setting up. Outsourced Toast customer service has EXTREMELY limited knowledge of ALL issues with Toast. Toast reps and customer service do not return calls. Credit card charges duplicate weekly on multiple customers accounts for no reason. Our staff has continued to process tabs the same way for two years but for about the past four months, Toast transactions duplicate on customer's personal financial accounts. Even VOIDED payments that should never even show up on a customer's account will show pending for over a week. Toast continues to close cases without a resolution.

The software is incredibly versatile. There is not much it cannot do. Highly customizable and very easy to teach to teams.

HORRIBLE. They owe me over $1700 since we opened up 9 months ago.

Pros

They may have a lot of useful software, but if you ever need help it's almost impossible to get it. We sent back some items they sent us when we first opened. Items we never did need, but we had paid for them. Toast has not returned the money and we are now 9 months into this. Getting anyone to even answer a call has become impossible. Try any other company because this customer service is horrible.

Cons

Customer service usually screws up what you are trying to do instead of helping you. They are absolutely horrible about helping. I can't stress this enough, this company doesn't care about the small restaurants.

I love Toast. Super easy and very user friendly. Most servers catch on in just minutes.

Pros

Toast is amazing it not only can handle on the fly menu changes, but can also work as your punch clock. Runs very smoothly on android os.

Cons

I can't complain. Toast handles all your daily reports and makes them easy to send to others, archive or what ever your case maybe.
