Each group has a specific place, so there is no confusion in the repository. There are access levels that limit files for certain individuals. Cons On rare days, Confluence suddenly freezes and starts to work more slowly. Navigation is bad: the search may not show the desired file. Large data in the storage does not load. This gives our users an easy way to learn how to use the product for themselves. We also use it to collate meeting notes when working with external partners. It's easy to write and share these notes, collaborating with little to no effort. Cons Our users have a varying level of computer literacy and, when viewing from the widget, there is no way for them to click to view an article on a full screen. We have found a workaround, but that would be a nice feature to add. It does what it needs to do for the most part. Pros I think it is a great and valuable collaboration tool that allows members of the team to not only update everyone on a project but other team members can look up the updates at their own leisure. It provides a nice edit history and great for documenting processes and procedures. Cons I dislike that it is tied to the rest of the Atlassian suite which has been overall subpar in my experience. We are thinking of integrating the confluence with Jira to store all the details of issues and reports on confluence. The UI is very user friendly and easy to use. But a tool used for that needs to be so good for the usecase that it ends up being used. Confluence is not used. Pros Confluence can do a lot of stuff. Apparently they have been slowly adding features over the years. And features they have. Probably enough to check all the checkboxes if you're using checkboxes for deciding what to buy. Probably also integrates with other Atlassian products. Cons Confluence is not easy to use. All the places where I've used it, the information hasn't been up to date and people have preferred to work in some other tool before transferring info to confluence. Pros This is an easy-to-use tool to manage a project or your business by ensuring that all pieces are integrated. Its a powerful tool for team collaboration and information sharing. We are currently using Confluence as a repository for our project research findings and tech development documentation as well as product requirements. The fact the you can link your product requirements with epics in Jira makes tracking really easy. Cons I am not crazy about the login process - if you google COnfluence - you will find the Atlassian page with Confluence details on (https://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence), but that does not lead you to your own login. Unless you save the Confluence page you initially logged into, it can be time-consuming to find the login space at first. That is just a minor observation though and I would not turn to another solution because of it! With it, we can quickly place content on pages without using HTML. Copying content from a document and placing it on a page now takes much less time. Cons I need to add the ability to hide pages from users. I propose a solution to the problem - to make special links that can be sent to certain users so that they have access to hidden pages. Since confluence has been well integrated in JIRA, Agile boards and the rest of atlassian products we have moved to document all our design and requirements in there. It becomes very simple to click through he tickets to the main requirements and also collaborate on changes while they are being made.
