We are more integrated and all under the same guidelines. This tool is unique, it allows us to stay connected through your app on our smart phones. I love its interface is very friendly and almost intuitive. Very easy to use and it is very efficient. Cons I think the free trial time should expand a bit. I find it’s the perfect site for all of my knowledge base needs. The layout of the site is very clean looking and organized and I’ve never once come across any bugs or issues. Pros Confluence, used as designed, is most likely fabulous allowing for collaboration within and across teams. Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of using it that way. Cons Unless EVERYONE across your institution, mine is higher education, adopts and uses the software, it becomes more frustrating than anything. You wind up spending most of your time trying to remember where content lives and even if it's all in Confluence, it becomes unwieldy. It's also a duplicative product, especially relating to the chat/collaboration features, when you have multiple other products that do the same thing, e.g. Microsoft Office 365. And, this might seem minor, but it is incredibly annoying that you can't import and export spreadsheets and have to everything in tables. Review Source AW Allison W. " January 11, 2018 5.0 Confluence is extremely beneficial in that it allows the Development Team to have a centralized repository to store pertinent information that all team members can access. Pros I love that Confluence allows me to document all of my training processes and provide a consumable file structure to new employees. I also love that Confluence allows me to enter links within documents for team members to access. I started using Confluence before I used JIRA or HipChat, but now that I use all three I love the ability to link documentation to various JIRA tasks or to mention Confluence documents in HipChat with ease. Cons Formatting. I transferred quite a few training documents from the Microsoft Suite to Confluence & the formatting was extremely difficult. I found this took a big bulk of my time with reformatting after I had pasted the information. I also wish there was a more user friendly way to share tables or spreadsheets. It is a great way to keep knowledge base articles organized for use within your organization. We have a confluence page for all of our product teams so we can easily stay up to date with the latest work that is being done by each of them. Cons Sometimes it can be hard to find exactly what you are looking for within Confluence without having to dig into multiple menu hierarchies. Pros This software makes managing knowledge or other user-created content a breeze. On its own it's a capable knowledge base, together with Atlassian JIRA it's the de facto pair of products you need for software development. You cannot be fully Agile without it - at least that is my experience. Cons Learning the "workflows" is a steep learning curve, but at least the community is helpful. I loved this product because creating an informational page was simply clicking and dragging. The layouts were super nice and viewer friendly, and it was super quick to learn and use. There is a lot of documentation about how to use it. There are many applications and add-ons that plug into it. It's relatively simple to learn how to edit pages. There are great dashboards and collaboration features. Spaces are a nice way to split up content among different teams or areas of concern. Cons Can be a bit pricey. Administration can be cumbersome or complex due to the powerful features available. Can be slightly slow / resource hungry. Very easy for anyone to make a page. I think it's core value comes from being able to quickly search and link to other confluence articles and JIRA tickets. Cons There's just not a lot going on. For instance, it is extremely easy to create new documents, search documents, and implement notifications for changes to the documents. The other things that I admire about confluence is that it provides direct sharing with the team members, and send email to notify the concerned person (with whom the page is shared). It is also very easy to tag someone easily on the page. Cons I don't see any drawback of this software. However, it can be bit tricky for the new user who uses it for the first time. Training or guidance may be required in order to understand the real capability of Confluence. It's mainly for the developers and project management, so don't expect something rich that you might be used to in some other word processors. Pros Confluence is a perfect complementary service to Jira. We manage our tasks in Jira and a lot of those tasks involve a number of technical documentation and assignments. This is where Confluence comes into play. Instead of writing all of the details in Google Docs or directly inside a Jira task, making documents in Confluence ensures that they won't get lost due to a high level of integration with Jira itself. Cons It's a more or less straightforward service, however there's some light learning curve to it. The biggest issue I have is that it was difficult to get used to Confluence instead of any other service, but me and my team have managed to make Confluence into a habit. Review Source Davesh M. Pros Confluence makes it easy to handle projects , as all requirements can be documented on it.It's an easy to use product to share documents,create tasks and interact with other team members.We can keep track of the documents we need for the development in our projects. These documents can be updated easily on confluence. UI is very simple so that any user can use it efficiently. Cons Cost is the only con i found till now.It is a little bit costly , so not all organisation can use it if they are also considering the cost.
