Seems banal, but it is very easy to loose parts of processes or information when having everything in emails, or drives. Pros This tool allows you to create content (from short processes, notes, to manuals and documentation) and share them with other coworkers. What I like the most, is that Confluence allows multiple people within the organization to edit the information which makes all the documents richer and always updated. For people who is not very tech savvy, it might seem a bit overwhelming the first time you use it, but after a few times, it is almost natural to create, edit and share articles. The possibility of the article/document to e easily re-edited is very useful when working with teams in different locations. In order to organize/protect work, it is also possible to create spaces with different attributes in order to d restrict the visibility of some articles so your team will see only what is relevant to them. Based on the popular JIRA design, Confluence offers an easy way to link JIRA tickets to their respective pages in Confluence, so the two tools work well together. Cons Project pages can sometimes appear lengthy if there are a lot of revisions or additions over time, and it's hard to follow the history of a page. The editing tools for generating content are superior to other products, and we actually removed content generation from ZenDesk so that we could generate in confluence and then "push" to ZenDesk using a custom-built connector. Pros Easy to maintain a hierarchy of documents. Also a wealth of plugins available. Cons Not all plug-in vendors as good as Atlassian in terms of quality of their offerings. Engineers and other techies at my company who used to enjoy making html edits have lost that ability as it was great restricts a few major releases back. It is simple and powerful. Cons It might be a little difficult to use in the beginning. But after you get the hang of it, it's pretty cool. It is having the customized dashboard with the rich features of document management coupled with the tracking tool like Jira on daily basis. I have been using it for different activities like project planning, project & team management, requirement gathering, scheduling, team collaboration which are accessible on both web and mobile making the work activities fun and focusing on other project specific activities leaving all other things to confluence. Cons As I have been using this for a couple of years, I did not find any so far except on a certain occasion, an error appears and landed out of login, but after that, i did not get any till date. It allows for us to keep structure for important documents and processes changing. Cons It is a little confusing to find things - I do wish they would have an email/alert sent out when items were added or changed and where to find those changed items. I like the way you can make some files easy to edit and others you can lock (like training documents). Cons This system functions like it was designed a while ago. Pros Confluence is a well-rounded tool for internal documentation in the company. If you are already using Jira and/or Bitbucket, choosing Confluence is a no brainer given how well it is integrated with those products. Cons Confluence lags behind a bit in terms of user experience, if compared with the likes of Notion or Coda. Cons The only thing that I hate about this software is there is no any autosave feature, you must save everything after you finished your work. And I would like to see exporting tool for download.
