I don't know how often your organization asks the same questions to your SME's over and over, but confluence helps save time by helping you document and share links to other users. We use it for so many different things - taking meeting notes, creating how-to documents, sharing presentations - and it's fantastic. Cons I don't like how Atlassian keeps changing the functionality of the product. Blog posts are now virtually impossible to create in the same manner that we used to, and it's frustrating. Updating calendars and assigning projects to specific users is a major advantage. We can link the content in the confluence to Jira/ALM tickets which will reduce so much of time. Budgetwise it is cheaper to use confluence than the other collaboration tools for startups and Freelancers. Cons Naming conventions wise,there cannot be two files with the same name under a parent which is supposed to be a limitation but rarely used in this scenario. It is very feature rich and there is no training required to use confluence. Cons In the 6 months that we have used confluence , everything has been smooth. Contents are reliable and processes are easier to understand with it's layout and dashboard format. Cons One improvement they could do is a more "newbie" friendly navigation and icon format, as a tenured agent it is easier for me to understand how it works since it's been quite some time that Im using different tools and platforms. But with Confluence some of my co workers really need some time to understand it's tabs and icons. A free tutorial would be very helpful such as a video provided directly to the company. Pros The biggest pro for this is its ease of use. I tried out many other similar applications before giving confluence a chance. I dont see any reason to switch to any other applications anymore. Cons Apart from the occasional hiccups, there haven't been any major issues with the application as of now. There are some features that I would die without and some that just aggravate me non-stop. Pros We use confluence for our internal Knowledgebase to publish articles for our users. The ability to integrate with Jira to link the KB directly is great. Cons So many features you'd think would be standard are instead available as "add-ins" that must be purchased separately. So far my favorite option and I would highly recommend it. Pros I've been trying out a lot of project management software recently to find a good fit and I absolutely love Confluence. It's very intuitive and easy to get the hang of. It has built in templates to make it even easier to get started. It's user friendly as well in terms of searching for projects and staying on top of recent updates. The blog feature is great for communication. Cons It may not have the levels of specificity as some other options (in terms of breaking down tasks or reporting, for example), but it comes with all the essential features and with this comes the benefit of ease of use and not getting bogged down by features you're not going to use. Pros It provides collaborative / simultaneous information sharing from multiple sources on the same topic in an almost-live manner. The performance is stable and look and feel is good. The bigger the company gets, the more opinions you get on how things should be organized. Pros There is nothing difficult about Confluence. It's easy to add pages and even move pages if you decide they should be somewhere else. It gives notifications when someone changes a page that applies to you. You can search everything to find what you need. It gives a tree setup on the left to keep things organized. Cons It's so easy to make pages that we find a lot of duplicates when someone opens something and thinks they are editing but actually makes a new copy of the page. Also, the tree structure is great, but it can be confusing because different people categorize things different than other people. Fortunately the search feature solves that issue, but it can be frustrating if you don't know what to search. This way, any new joinee can just refer to the confluence links and easily follow the steps. Pros Great way to have all your data in place and share with the team. We can organize them nicely and can easily find stuff using Search. Also, it is very simple to use. Cons It is difficult to search something if you do not know the exact search text. In the case of needing to consult some detail of a past project, I do it without problems because my projects keep them structured in a good hierarchy of folders. Pros What I like most about Confluence is without a doubt being able to save my files and information without any problem. In addition, thanks to confluence we can have all the files and information that we have structured by folders. In the company where I work we have been using this software for more than 2 years, and in it we keep all the documentation of all the projects, so in this way we will never lose information in the future, and at the time something should be consulted , you can access really fast thanks to its quick search. Cons I could not say many bad things about Confluence, maybe I would say that it is simple, in the sense that only documents, text, etc. can be saved.
