Pros I love how easy it is to create a page that includes code blocks, JIRA issues/filters, and all the other macro options. Cons It can be tough to re-organize spaces and trees when changes occur in the company. We're also limited from truly archiving pages, which can make the cleanup process even more difficult. We are using open source tools to create flow diagrams and pasting in confluence. Pros Confluence allows you to make documentation easily, providing plenty of templates for ease of use. The ability to subscribe to pages and be notified of any changes made is great. As long as we properly document it we can just link to the relevant article. Also makes working with IT a lot smoother. Pros It's designed specifically for documentation which we desperately needed. Prior to Confluence we use Google Drive and found it was too difficult to maintain. We have a lot of tasks that need to be documented for new hires so this product is perfect. The integration with Jira makes working with IT (I'm marketing) a lot easier as well. I also love the drag and drop functionality. Cons Small gripe but logging in never seems to work. I log in to Atlassian and despite clicking on Confluence I get redirected to Jira every time. I have to fumble around a bit before I can get to where I want to be. I can create pages, subpages, and even entire spaces to house my documentation. We have a support team who use the knowledge base for solving client issues. I probably don't use it to its full potential, but it does everything I need it to do. Pros Confluence is full-featured containing lots of ways to format text, insert objects (graphs, charts, pictures, etc) Cons I'm not a heavy user of this software, so I don't think there is really anything missing from it. Pros We transitioned over to confluence and jira to help our internal workflow, dropping the need for shared drives, word documents, excel spreadsheets. Confluence drives our results and productivity. We find the tool superb to share content rich media to others, processes and procedures. Cons Missing some key macros that could really boost the web applications potential i.e Excel macro, polling tools etc. However we are working with the provider to open up these tools.
