As a Data Engineer, I used Confluence to document data workflows, dbt validation processes, raw data validation steps, and technical designs. It helped the team maintain clear project references and reduced dependency on individual team members for information. We also used Confluence along with Jira tickets to track requirements, changes, and implementation details, which improved collaboration between technical and business teams.

Pros

Confluence helped our team maintain project documentation in one central place. During the LendingTree project, we used it to document data processes, technical details, and project knowledge. I liked how easy it was to create, update, and share documentation with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders.

Cons

As the number of pages grows, finding the right information can sometimes take time. Better search accuracy and easier content organization would improve the experience.

Confluence has been a valuable tool for documenting network infrastructure, support procedures, and internal IT knowledge. It makes collaboration between support teams much smoother and reduces the time spent searching for technical information. The platform is reliable, feature rich, and integrates well with other tools. While there's a learning curve and some workspace organization challenges, it has significantly improved documentation quality and team efficiency.

Pros

I found Confluence to be an excellent place to maintain network documentation, troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and configuration notes. Having everything organized in one searchable location made it much easier to resolve recurring issues and share knowledge with the rest of the IT team. File sharing is straightforward, pages are easy to update, and version history helps keep technical documentation accurate.

Cons

The editor occasionally feels slow when working on pages with a lot of diagrams or attachments. Finding the right page can also become difficult if documentation isn't organized consistently. Some permissions and space management settings take a bit of time to understand, especially for new administrators.

Confluence eliminates information silos scattered across isolated files and ensures that every team member has immediate access to our firm's best practices and reference data.

Pros

In the information services sector, centralizing documentation is essential. Confluence stands out as a powerful solution for organizing our firm's collective knowledge.Seamless integration with Jira and the broader Atlassian ecosystem also represents a major strategic advantage for tracking our deliverables.

Cons

The initial onboarding process can feel intimidating for new employees due to the abundance of features and macros.

I've had a generally positive experience with Confluence, using it regularly to collaborate with my team and document project information. While it's been a reliable tool, I've occasionally encountered minor issues with formatting and navigation, which have kept me from giving it a full 5-star rating.

Pros

Confluence works well enough for our team's documentation needs. I like the layout and flexibility of creating custom templates. It's pretty solid for collaborative projects, but took a bit to figure out at first.

Cons

The biggest con is the occasional UI clutter when trying to edit a page. It can be kind of annoying to navigate through the menus and find the right options. Still, it's not a huge deal, and our team's learned to work around it.

Overall good. It does the job for documentation and works well with Jira, which is what we needed. But the tool will not organise itself — you need someone to own the structure or it turns into a dumping ground. Once we fixed our space structure and started using templates properly, people actually started using it.

Pros

I would say it works well as a single source of truth for process documentation and requirements. The Jira integration is the biggest win for us linking user stories and UAT test cases directly to specs means less time chasing context across tools. Templates help, we use them for meeting notes and BRDs.

Cons

It becomes messy very quickly. My team creates duplicate pages and after a few months you are never sure which version is the current one

Overall, my experience with Confluence has been positive. It's reliable platform for documenting knowledge,... The recent AI features have made it even more productive by helping create, summarize, and improve content quickly.

Pros

Now that we use Confluence for a few years we see that they still improving and adding new features. Like for example AI tools to write our POC details faster in Conluence. But feature like to summarize our confluence page so user don't need tot read all the details and get the high level of this POC doc. At so we like the ai feature definition that tell us what those technical term mean in our doc by just highlighted it. There so much more feature but those are for use the most use onces.

Cons

Only point is now you have more buttons that nested all the AI features. would be nice there is overview of only top useful ai feature.

Pros

In industrial automation, standardizing and documenting code lines or wiring schematics is vital for maintenance. Confluence serves as a centralized knowledge base for our entire production team.

Cons

The text editor can be finicky and rigid when it comes to embedding complex graphic elements like vector electrical schematics or large industrial data tables.

Overall, Confluence is useful for keeping engineering knowledge and project documentation centralized. We use it for architectural notes, procedures, project pages, and internal guides. It works well, although the quality depends a lot on people keeping pages organized and updated.

Pros

It's useful having documents, project notes, runbooks, and team processes in one place. It works especially well for sharing information that needs to stay available beyond a Slack thread.

Cons

Pages can become outdated or hard to find, especially when different teams organize their spaces differently. Search is helpful, but it can still take time to locate the right version of a document.

I've had a generally positive experience with Confluence, using it regularly to collaborate with my team and document project progress. While it's user-friendly and has a robust feature set, I occasionally encounter minor glitches and wish for more customization options to suit our specific workflow needs.

Pros

We love how Confluence's collaboration features work well enough for our team of 20. Creating and editing pages is pretty solid, and the commenting system is intuitive. We've used it for about a year now, and it's become an essential part of our workflow.

Cons

One minor thing that took a bit to figure out was the integration with our existing project management tool. It's not a huge deal, but it would be great if Confluence had better documentation on this.
