Pros

I liked having project notes, meeting updates, requirements, and other documentation in one place. It made it easier to share information with the team instead of having documents scattered everywhere. Searching older pages and collaborating through comments was also pretty useful.

Cons

It could get messy when there were too many pages and spaces. Finding something specific wasn’t always easy if the content wasn’t organized properly. Formatting pages could also be a little frustrating sometimes.

Pros

What I like most about confluence is its ability and scope for project management, task division, and folder organization.

Cons

What I like least about confluence is that it can be very overwhelming to the beginner if you are not familiar with how to begin an extensive file structure for a company.

This is how the tool behaves for us right now, not how a demo looked. Confluence is what we open for the handoff between the person who does the work and the person who checks it, which is the only context that matters for this review. The part that works: We spend less time reconstructing what happened last week from inboxes and chat. The part that still costs us a little time: settings are easy to lose if you do not live in the product every day. I would recommend it to a similar shop with those limits stated up front.

Pros

Search and history are good enough that we stopped keeping a shadow copy in a personal note. That is why Confluence stuck after the first month of the handoff between the person who does the work and the person who checks it. The recurring task that used to leak into evenings now finishes inside the workday. It stays out of the way once the habit is formed, which is the highest compliment I give software.

Cons

What I like least is straightforward. Settings are easy to lose if you do not live in the product every day. Reporting is adequate and not something I would demo to a board without exporting. Those are operational nits, not a reason the product fails at the core job.

I've had a great experience with it, using it for SOPs and training documents in conjunction with my role in L and D.

Pros

Another great product by Atlassian. We only started using it this year, but it's very easy to understanding slides in seemlessly with Jira.

Cons

It's very easy to use and the interface acts like so many others we have for other systems. Very easy to edit and share.

Overall the platform has improved, and I much prefer using it now compared to a year ago. If the tool keeps improving then maybe next year it will be 5 stars!

Pros

The search has improved a lot recently and the addition of folders has made organisation a lot simpler.

Cons

It is still a bit tricky to import docs from other sources (Direct from Markdown for example) so the easiest way is to use an LLM + MCP.

Make use of the integration with the JIRA suite of tools, including bitbucket and Jira itself.

Confluence is a great platform for team collaboration and knowledge management. I particularly like its integration with Jira, centralized documentation, easy page creation, and version history. It makes it convenient to keep project information and team knowledge organized in one place.”

Pros

Easy collaboration: Makes it easy for teams to create, share, and collaborate on documents and project information in one centralized place. Knowledge management: Very useful for maintaining team knowledge, process documentation, meeting notes, and project-related information. Integration with Jira: The integration with Jira is particularly helpful for connecting project documentation with tasks and tickets.

Cons

Can become difficult to organize: As the number of pages increases, the workspace can become cluttered and finding the right information may take time. Search could be better: Search results can sometimes be too broad, making it difficult to quickly locate the exact page or information needed

Works well once everything is set up and you have an experienced admin managing the pages. Would recommend for larger organizations with multiple Teams/Departments but does not seem very cost effective for smaller organizations.

Pros

Good organization tool for Team Notes and Documentation for your department Processes. A well maintained Confluence can be the source of truth for all processes. Real-time edits work. ease of use and secure file sharing.

Cons

Does require a bit of learning for fresh users. Loading times can be slow and media heavy pages do tend to error/time out.

I've had a generally positive experience with Confluence, using it regularly to collaborate with my team and keep track of projects. It's user-friendly and integrates well with other Atlassian tools, but occasional glitches and minor interface quirks prevent me from giving it a perfect score.

Pros

Confluence has been pretty solid for our team's collaboration needs. We've used it for creating and sharing documents, tracking projects, and even hosting meetings. The workflow is pretty intuitive, and we've found it easy to set up new spaces and pages as needed.

Cons

One minor gripe is that the mobile app can be a bit clunky at times, especially when trying to edit documents on the go. It's not a huge deal, but it's something we've had to work around. We've also found that some of the advanced features take a bit to figure out, but overall, it's a great tool.

As a Data Engineer, I used Confluence to document data workflows, dbt validation processes, raw data validation steps, and technical designs. It helped the team maintain clear project references and reduced dependency on individual team members for information. We also used Confluence along with Jira tickets to track requirements, changes, and implementation details, which improved collaboration between technical and business teams.

Pros

Confluence helped our team maintain project documentation in one central place. During the LendingTree project, we used it to document data processes, technical details, and project knowledge. I liked how easy it was to create, update, and share documentation with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders.

Cons

As the number of pages grows, finding the right information can sometimes take time. Better search accuracy and easier content organization would improve the experience.
