"Gingr is the name on the door, but not who's sitting in the office"

**Overall:** Honestly? It feels like betrayal. Would you believe I just received a response to Gingr's online "chat"? What if I told you I submitted that question back in December 2025? Today is April 30, 2026.

**Pros:** The operative word, what DID you like about Gingr? We hired Gingr four years ago because we thought they understood the boarding business.

**Cons:** <No longer "Gingr"; was purchased by a corporate conglomerate or private equity (joined the pet industry investor greed train) <nonstop pricing increases <manipulation of merchant card provider (unfairly forcing you to pay more if you want their app to work correctly) <self-help text only; timely and reliable support was removed <customer portal is junk (our customers hate it and avoid it) <we use a workaround registration system, works better than Gingr <they changed all of our customers' SMS text option selection to No without our permission, then denied it even though we have previous backup copy of our database. The reason? Looks to be to back you into a corner to subscribe to a third party app they have partnered with for SMS texting; that costs an additional $250+/mo. <Sofware tools like Quickbooks don't charge as much as these guys do, and Quickbooks is 5x the software!! Greedy greedy. Time to hire a developer to create our own internal software. These subscription (leased) kennel management software's are getting fat and abusive off our hard-working pet industry backs.
