It's a solid reporting platform. The customization of multiple scenarios for cashflow forecasting are fantastic. Pros Fathom does a great job at integrating with Xero and QuickBooks Online. Customizable reporting, great visuals and dashboard. Cons There is a learning curve, but thankfully you can get support during and after onboarding. I did have one strange client scenario that wouldn't work correctly, and support kept telling me that different workarounds would solve the problem. We went round and round and they finally conceded that this particular situation would not work in Fathom. Not a fault of the software, but we could have saved several meetings and a lot of time if support had done a better job trying to understand what we needed to accomplish. You just forget taking notes manually and can focus more on the conversation. I could use my notes to make jira ticket requirements and it allowed me to fully focus on my meeting and not have to make notes at the same time. Pros I specialise in working with data but Fathom makes it look beautiful — like a narrative. So as a Research Assistant, I often have to present my boss With lots of charts and numbers. These reports run super quick with Fathom. It pipes into my data and boom — I have clean graphs. When we are overspending on a project it is quite easy to observe. Cons The small details in a chart are sometimes difficult to switch. The owner and the invitee. During the meeting the software goes unnoticed. It doesn't have any interference of the meeting. Pros I like the fact that you can easily record meetings. The system will send an email to the other meeting invites, asking for their consent to record the meeting. It also gives the invites an option to receive a copy of the recording meeting. Cons After great thought, I can't think of something to dislike. Maybe the fact that an invite goes out to invitees in case you didn't need or want them to know the meeting was being recorded. It can do multi-currency without me having to do the math myself (that was a shock); it will help identify problems in the business rather than having to sift through rows of boring number all day. Pros Fathom uses the information from Xero and doesn’t freeze up so that’s nice (I thought it would). Charts are acceptable enough for the shareholders so they won’t stare at me like I’ve lost my mind during the meeting. Cons Balance sheet mappings are basically useless in comparison to the P&L functions which creates pointless ratio comparisons. The software is also ridiculously slow if more than one person tries to work in it at the same time. Tax variables in the forecasting get screwed up and fixing them is a pain. The summaries are clear and surprisingly accurate, which makes follow-up easier and saves me a lot of time.
