Cons: After being an agency partner for 2+ years, our company has yet to make a dime off of this investment.

First of all, the training they "supply" is almost non-existent. When we first became a partner, we had a couple of calls but then, nothing. There were many "learning pains" that we endured with SharpSpring even so much so as, demos I do with clients being times that "sharpspring is down."

It is very difficult to sell a product that does not work when you are trying to show clients the power of the system.

We also had a MAJOR real estate brokerage use the site for recruiting and, when messages were not being sent as they were scheduled to send, the client left our company and the SS product.

The platform is over priced and does not provide the support you would expect from a company as such.

SharpSpring has cost us as a business for our choice to invest in them. Had we gone with a platform that actually worked when it was needed and had the kind of training for us that they should have, we would be way ahead of the game. Instead, we are starting fresh with a new company that will hopefully fulfill their part in our agreement.

I would never recommend this product to anyone that is looking for an automation system.

Overall: Nothing. This company is completely worthless. They deleted a clients account out of the blue and also do not follow through with their commitments.

SharpSpring is a phenomenal marketing automation platform.

Pros: SharpSpring is a sleek system that offers outstanding tools for marketing automation. We researched a lot of platforms ranging from free to $1000s before going with SharpSpring. They have just the right amount of features that makes it the most useful for all of our clients, leaving off the bells and whistles that would inflate the price.

Their interface is top-tier which makes using their system a breeze. The dashboard gives you a comprehensive look at everything you're running. Moving around the system is super simple and they make it easy to jump to different areas when you're building a sales program. I'd urge you to check out all the features on their website because there are too many to list, but I can say that what they have offered us is unbelievably comprehensive.

We've also taken full advantage of their support which is outstanding. They have always been knowledgable and very friendly. Moreover, they won¿t let you off the phone until they are sure that the problem has been resolved! They also offer FREE continuing education programs like webinars to help make you more proficient at their program.

SharpSpring is a superior marketing automation platform, with a very intuitive interface and offer the kind of support we have rarely seen in tech companies. They have worked harder to earn and keep our business than any other vendor we've ever worked with. You would do yourself a giant favor to give their system a test drive.

Cons: I was not prepared for the steep learning curve that is required to take full advantage of this platform. I was a bit discouraged at first by everything there was to learn but I realized it's part of working with such a comprehensive platform. It's like moving to a new town and trying to figure out all the roads and highways. I don't know if that's really a con but it is something you must be aware of. You're going to need to spend some serious time learning it but once you do, navigating the system easily becomes second nature.

Overall: SharpSpring is a superior marketing automation platform, with a very intuitive interface and offer the kind of support we have rarely seen in tech companies. They have worked harder to earn and keep our business than any other vendor we've ever worked with.

Pros: The SharpSpring Marketing Automation Software provides the following features and benefits that make it a stand out product for my business;
1. The 24/7 support incorporated into the monthly fees; Ensuring no surprises down the line.
2. No requirement to pay fees annually upfront.
3. New landing page feature.
4. Blog page feature.
5. New integration with the Litmus test.
6. Link up with Zapier integration to allow connection to hundreds of 3rd party software providers with the Zapier integration and SharpSpring APIs.
7. Training platform library; In-depth and with video availability to walk through processes. This along with 24/7 support, in my opinion, are the two most important features out with cost of course which set SharpSpring apart as the right platform for our boutique digital marketing agency.

Cons: 1. Monthly fees in dollars do not convert via local UK sterling currency rates, unlike other US marketing software providers. You pay in £ sterling the same monthly fee as in US $ dollars.
2. Email builder while it is satisfactory it could be even more user friendly.

Overall: We are a small boutique digital marketing agency based in the UK. We spent six months researching all the marketing platforms available.
It was vital to have 24/7 support available within the fees payable, favourable fee rates for an agency of our size (which did not require upfront annual payment), the option to have access to support within GMT timelines for our UK clients and last but not least a marketing automation provider who were developing new features on a near-quarterly basis. We decided that SharpSpring and their team would provide all of these features and benefits.
We commenced our inbound integration mid-2016, and the integration ran extremely efficiently with amazing support within GMT timeline availability. The support since and the new features constantly being added without any impact on fee rates have made the decision to choose SharpSpring, the absolute correct choice for our company. They have over delivered every step of the way for our company. Their team are highly knowledgeable, patient and supportive.
I would not choose any other platform now we are with SharpSpring.

Recommendations to other buyers: Like you should with any business decision, do your research. Do not rush into choosing a marketing automation platform. One size does not fit all. Marketing automation requires a lot of investment in; 1. Researching the right platform to meet your business and strategic objectives. 2. Time to properly understand the platform. 3. Nothing will beat real world experience via using the software in a live situation to properly get to grips with all the features within the marketing automation platform.

Pros: Cost vs. benefit. Has all of the features our clients want or need, without a bunch of stuff we have to pay for that they don't need.

Cons: It's a struggle to find something I don't like, but if it was one thing over the past two years, it would be the lack of support on the sales side for our clients. More customized training and presentations for client side would be great.

Overall: A couple of years ago our agency was a relatively happy HubSpot customer. We sold inbound services via HubSpot to our web development clients most often, but it was a hard sell and required a certain client profile to be successful. The most important aspect of an inbound client for us was deep pockets! Why? Simply because of the cost of the HubSpot platform. If a client had sufficiently deep pockets, AND was convinced of the business validity of inbound marketing versus traditional methods, the full court press was on. To give HubSpot credit, they got very involved in the client sales process and they provided a lot of tools to aid agencies in the inbound sales process, BUT, all of that comes at a cost. A significant cost. While HubSpot gets a lot of credit for pioneering the inbound marketing platform space, they have become, in this agencies opinion, a bit bloated over the years. What we mean is that they provide so much it is sometimes difficult to choose what is most important to push and provide for each client. The net effect is, however, that whatever your client does want to do, Personas, email marketing, automation, web site development, contact list management etc., it's all included. So what's the downside? Their strength is their biggest weakness. No matter how little or how much of HubSpots resources you use, the cost is the same. Of course there are tiers of cost, but even the lowest tier is roughly ten times the cost of SharpSpring. So use a little, pay a lot. Use a lot, pay a lot. Now we at CX3 Group don't necessarily sell on price, however, if the tools that you bring to the table for your clients are less expensive, but still as, or more, effective, it gives the agency a lot of flexibility when customizing various packages to promote. While generally content with HubSpot back in the day, we are extremely pleased with SharpSpring. Approaching our two year anniversary with them we take every opportunity to sing their praises, and it's NOT just about pricing.
While SharpSpring is a fraction of the cost, of HubSpot (& others) the features it includes are all the features we ever really used with HubSpot. That is to say, we are paying for what we use, and not paying for anything that sits in the cupboard looking pretty, but we don't need.
If I had more space here I'd go into the newest features that SharpSpring has rolled out over the past 6 months. Suffice it to say, we're a very happy and satisfied SharpSpring client! -CX3 Group

Recommendations to other buyers: Do what we did, check out the demo (especially the magic trick) and you'll be impressed as we were.

Pros: The core marketing automation functionality in SharpSpring is excellent. If you're looking for Visitor ID tracking, better email communication, personalization, a landing page builder, or a CRM, SharpSpring is definitely worth a look.

Even though it's a "soft" feature, it's worth noting that the customer service team has been great to work with. I've been able to give my clients solid timelines for when to expect a fix or help.

Cons: The email and landing page builders are solid, but they lack some of the intuitive features that you might get from a dedicated email service provider like Campaign Monitor or Mail Chimp. There might be a few things you'll miss migrating over from one of these platforms, though nothing important for obtaining the same end results.

Overall: I've been using SharpSpring for just about under a year in this time, I've recommended it to just about every marketer I've worked with.

Typically, marketing automation software has only been usable by large and mid-size organizations due to the high cost of both the software and the expertise in operating an inbound marketing campaign. SharpSpring costs only a fraction of competing tools like HubSpot, Pardot, Marketo, etc., but it offers all of the core features of these platforms and has a few of its own features, like a built-in customizable CRM, that make it a great fit for just about any marketing team.

There aren't any serious downsides or tradeoffs with SharpSpring vs the more expensive platforms. The customer service team is always very attentive and transparent about bugs and fixes, and SharpSpring has made a series of significant upgrades even during the time I've been using the platform. If you're used to using some of the other platforms I mentioned, some pieces of SharpSpring might initially feel less polished. But, once you look under the hood and start working with the platform, everything is there in a pretty intuitive layout.

Highly recommended for marketing & sales teams.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure to ask lots of questions during the on-boarding phase. The on-boarding team is great, but you'll get much more out of the experience if you prepare for the onboarding meetings and take the time to practice with the software between onboarding sessions. I don't think SharpSpring is more complicated than other marketing automation systems, but all marketing automation tools require a nuanced approach to inbound marketing. So, there's going to be some learning curve no matter which platform you ultimately end up using.

Pros: Ease of use, good templates, built in CRM (although you can integrate with 3rd party CRM if you need.) Cost saving compared to competing products - especially if you can dispense with a full-fat CRM like Salesforce which is bloated and over priced for SME market in my opinion.

Cons: Occasional glitches. Sometimes you have to refresh the page to see the result of a change that you have made. For example - the number of members in a list - can take a few minutes after saving the query to report a true number. But you soon learn to live with minor issues like this.

Overall: I've used a couple of different Marketing Automation platforms in the past. Marketo briefly and Act-On for a couple of years. I switched to SharpSpring around 6 months ago when I set up my own marketing agency.

Really happy with how its going. OK - its obvious that SharpSpring is a smaller company. I come across the occasional feature that could do with some refinement. But overall its fair to say I love SharpSpring.

Top features from my POV...

Ease of use - The separation of Tasks and Workflows seems to make this a much simpler product to use than Act-on. Easier than Marketo as well - though its about 3 years since I used that.

The templates provided for rapidly building landing pages are excellent.

The new personas feature is brilliant when combined with "Dynamic content blocks" (which you can use on landing pages as well as Emails.

The built in CRM is a huge advantage and is perfect for BDM teams or smaller companies. Obviously if you can make do without a full-featured CRM like Salesforce, you'll save thousands $$ by switching to a simpler product like SharpSpring. (I used to use Act-on integrated with Salesforce and that was an absolute pig.)

Cost - SharpSpring is much less expensive than Act-On and Marketo. You get unlimited users on their standard license plans - so you're not penalised for spreading use across Marketing, BDMs and Sales folk.

So features - not a problem.

I've found the training / on-boarding satisfactory and the ongoing technical support is fast and personal.

Recommendations to other buyers: Well worth investigating if you're looking for a less complicated and less expensive Marketing Automation system for smaller / mid-sized businesses. I've implemented this software for my own company and for clients, and I've found it easy to master.

Pros: Being able to leverage anonymous web user data to create actionable insights way before they fill a form out is invaluable. For an agency/B2B company, it is the most reliable new lead generator of any tool out there.

Cons: New features roll out and feel like they should still be in beta. It has a few quirks like a lack of global date range filter that don't necessarily hinder reporting/analysis but are a slight inconvenience.

Overall: We've been using SharpSpring for nearly a year at our agency, and have used almost every feature of it (SalesForce integration, automated workflows, API for custom reporting, full-on CRM, etc.).

We love SharpSpring. In fact, in the past few months, SharpSpring has been responsible for helping us close nearly one million dollars in new business. As a B2B tool, the fact that we can see what businesses are browsing our site and reach out to them even if they don't submit a form is invaluable, and worth 10x cost.

Every client we bring in gets put on the platform, and it's an indispensible part to growing their business. We are able to verify leads which instills confidence in our reporting, but also helps us evaluate the quality of leads and ROI through lead scoring and campaign assignments. We've used SharpSpring as white-labeled companion and even migrated some clients over to use it as their CRM. It's extremely versatile.

SharpSpring's breadth of tools means you could be using it for a year and still not have used some of its features to the fullest of their ability (Dynamic Emails, Dynamic Web Content), and that's great... but it is also the cause of some frustration, as they sometimes rush out products to tout they have a new product, but that product will still feel very "beta" in nature. When dynamic landing pages were introduced we tried to use it for two weeks, and there was a bug that would wipe out whatever changes you made. We eventually abandoned using that tool, but came back several months later and it worked as it should have.

The flip side of this is that SharpSpring is constantly working to improve. It is not a platform that rests on its laurels. You can also submit a feature or improvement to their team directly.

Anytime we have had an issue, Customer Support has been great. Their agents have resolved our numerous issues quickly, whether its answering a quick implementation question or testing bugs for a larger issue.

Overall, SharpSpring has been an integral tool to both our agency's growth but our clients' growth. And, though new tools sometimes feel buggy, we can easily overlook it due to the value it provides us.

Pros: It is easy to use. There is a learning curve, but it is not that steep. The list building logic and workflow logic just makes sense, and I think this is where Sharpspring shines. SharpSpring's support was critical to our success in getting started, as getting started truly is the hardest part. The responsiveness from their support team is also incredible. If you are not looking for all the bells and whistles that you ultimately won't use, Sharpspring is a true value.

Cons: The improvements I would like to see in Sharpspring centers around the contact management part of their solution. We have sales people that are using the system as their CRM and some basic features like searching, segmenting, and sorting are not available to a person in the sales person role permission.

Overall: Our experience with Sharpspring has been great. A trememdous value for our company that has already shown us ROI. Our company uses Sharpspring for both marketing automation and as our CRM tool. Specifically, Sharpspring is allowing us to target prospects in our database to fill top of the sales funnel with prospects, as well as allowing us to nurture specific prospects based on their engagement with us. Depending on an action a prospect takes, we can serve up the appropriate response automatically to further cultivate this person. In addition, we are able to use the analytics the system provides to better help us understand which marketing activities are working and which ones are not

Recommendations to other buyers: Any business that is looking for a robust, feature-rich marketing automation tool should audition Sharpspring. The fact that there are no long-term contracts ensures that you will not have buyers remorse, but I doubt you will. If you are in a small to mid-size business where marketing is wearing many hats and you do not have unlimited budgets, you need a tool that will deliver, demonstrate ROI, and tell you where you need to spend more or less of your marketing dollars. If this is you, Sharpspring will fit the bill.

Pros: I'm pretty experienced with figuring out software without help, and SharpSpring presented me very few difficulties as I taught myself. However, every now & then I'd want to do something that I couldn't figure out. That's where I think SharpSpring shines. It has layer after layer of help that ranges from "hints" to detailed video instruction, detailed written instruction and then finally - if all else fails - a help ticketing system that has been very responsive.

Also, it seems that they frequently update the help documents. And by "frequently", I mean - almost every week. Every time I open the help pages, there are new documents and/or videos there. Honestly, in terms of keeping the help docs fresh and constantly adding to them, SharpSpring is the best I've ever seen in my multi-decade career.

Cons: I'd like to be able to trigger workflows by a date or event in the future rather than in the past. There's a way to do this. It's just different than the way I would have preferred. Minor complaint.

Overall: SharpSpring is not for everyone. If all you do is send a monthly newsletter to your Left-Handed Knitting Needles Enthusiasts mailing list, SharpSpring is overkill. However, if you have an email list you market to, and if you have landing pages that matter to you, then SharpSpring is a must-have tool.

In building our consulting business, we have dozens of different niche markets we want to address, each with different campaigns and different types of campaigns. We have lots of different landing pages, lots of different funnels and we need to make sure that we can both make sure each prospect gets the right email at the right time and also that we respond to whatever events occur in an appropriate manner.

That means building emails and building workflows, and then testing them to be sure they do what we want, and then executing those workflows automatically. SharpSpring provides me almost everything I want in that regard.

Before using SharpSpring, I built similar workflows in InfusionSoft. Since it was the first marketing automation program I used, I thought it was pretty good, if perhaps a little confusing.

SharpSpring has managed to drastically simplify the workflow-building process without losing any of the power. And since it's simpler, that translates - at least in my mind - to easier. Easier to build, easier to understand, easier to test, easier to troubleshoot.

Recommendations to other buyers: SharpSpring is NOT a CRM. So if your main need is CRM, you need to plan to hook it to something. It does an awesome job at marketing automation though.

I recommend this to everyone!

Pros: Sharp Spring provides me and my clients with several advantages over its competition (like Eloqua, Marketo, Pardot, Infusionsoft). First of all, you can not beat their licensing value. Each license comes with unlimited users. This alone beats all the competition. Secondly, they have integrated an awesome CRM (missing in all the other marketing automation tools) so you do not have to go out and buy licenses for that. Lastly, it is a COMPLETE marketing automation system with true behavioral marketing capabilities.

Cons: At first, I had a hard time understanding how they do automation. I was used to using a drag and drop "visualization" interface to build drip campaigns. I also had a bit of a hard time getting used to their nomenclature. The way that automation processes are set up in Sharp Spring are through two things... Tasks (which I was used to calling triggers) and Workflow (which I was used to calling task automation). You can see how it was confusing for me. Well I learned it, it was not that hard, and I actually see now how it is a way superior way to program automation then using visual aids that would be cumbersome to try to set up and manage in large scale automation projects.

Overall: Overall I give this tool 5 stars, A's all across, two thumbs up, a wink and a smile. As I mentioned, I have been using the tool now for 4 years and have quite a bit of experience using their competitors and so-called "market leaders". I love Sharp Spring it does everything, at a value you can hardly compare.

Recommendations to other buyers: Get it... if you need marketing automation and CRM you can not beat this software at its price.

Pros: The software does what it is intended to do. It is not all things to all people like some of their competitors pretend to be. SharpSpring is killer marketing automation, light CRM and big-time sales enablement. It is not for wimps.

Like with any sales enablement and marketing automation solution, choose wisely, include your key players in the selection process and be prepared to hire a pro and pay them to make this software perform.

Unless you like making your own paperclips, don't try to put yourself in the marketing automation business. It's nuts to think you can do this on top of your own business unless you have a serious, full time pilot to help administrate this bad boy for maximum ROI.

You do want ROI, don't you?

Cons: Not much to dislike when you make an informed decision. There are no tricks, gimmicks or lame sales practices.

Overall: I have consulted and implemented over 300 marketing automation cases since 2008 when I became of Infusinsoft's top-ten rated consultants, partners until May of 2016.

Prior to parting ways with Infusionsoft with which we had great success, I needed to find a better system for my needs and the clients I was serving. I wanted to explode the size of my email and prospect list without blowing my budget.

When I found SharpSpring I fell in love because of their approach to serving partners and customers. They don't try to be all things to all people. SharpSpring sells through approved consulting and training partners like me, and many digital marketing agencies as well.

Recommendations to other buyers: Choose your solution for the long-haul and be prepared to use it every day, training and coaching your team to get the best possible performance. Do the championship-winning sports teams have part time coaching and training for their athletes? Same with this.

Pros: The amount of features you get for the price is absolutely unmatched. Their support is also really great now that they have strengthened the team. It used to be that responses took weeks but now I'm seeing replies sometimes in a matter of minutes.

Cons: Even though it's cheaper you have a tendency to want to compare it to the big players that have been around for years. Simply put...Sharpspring is just not as refined as some of the options. Although they seem to be rapidly releasing new features to be better contenders it seems that they come packed with a ton of bugs confusion amongst the team.

Overall: Using Sharpspring is a lightyears leap forward from your typical ESP. It brings a world of new opportunities typically only found in software packages three times the price. Sharpspring offers and incredible tool and impressive feature set for those just stepping into the world of marketing automation.

For those who already familiar with this world with existing software in place, Sharpspring has the potential to save you a serious amount money. That being said, take some time to fully evaluate your needs (especially if you intend to use the CRM) to be sure that this younger and arguably less refined software package will be able to act as a full replacement to your existing software.

If being used primarily as marketing automation tool only you'll find that Sharpspring plays really well with your existing systems with their Open API as well as Zapier and Salesforce integrations.

In summary...Sharpspring is an incredibly strong contender in it's space. The fact that it can actually be compared to software that is over 3x it's cost is a statement to itself. Whether it will be a complete replacement for your existing software package will come down to your specific usage but if you are just getting into automation Sharpspring is a clear winner at the price point.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you intend to replace existing software... make sure to fully evaluate that everything you need is available in Sharpspring. Try not to make a big decision based upon feature to feature comparison alone.

Pros: Easy to get started with.
Great support.
Easier to use than competitors.
Constantly improving yet keeping the price constant.
Agency pricing model is extraordinary.
Feature set and price equates to the best value of the major marketing automation platforms.

Cons: They are growing so quickly that there have been glitches in account management and support. With that, things have settled down and support seems to be better than ever.

Additionally, there are times the application is slow but it is hard to tell where that "fault" lies. Regardless it hasn't caused major problems.

Email design can be a little clunky. When using our designs using built-in templates, the html doesn't always behave. I know it is something being worked on which sums SharpSpring up nicely, they are constantly listening and improving.

Overall: SharpSpring provides all the functionality my clients and I need most at a fraction of the cost of leading competitors. It does so in a user-friendly application with excellent self-help tools and support.

Before choosing SharpSpring, I was hands-on with Hubspot, Marketo, and Act-On and chose SharpSpring because of what I've written above and because it was much easier to learn and use than those platforms.

When I first subscribed, there were a few features it was missing that I wished it had, but "settled¿ on SharpSpring based on a price/value decision. Lo and behold, over the last year they have added additional functionality including a couple of the key missing pieces and in doing so, technically reduced prices.

Recommendations to other buyers: When considering marketing automation platforms, I recommend gathering your requirements then demo at least 2 of the other high-end competitors - don't just allow a salesperson to sell you on something that may not work as promoted. The devil is in the details so regardless of what tools you may be interested in, use them before you decide. Backing out of a marketing automation program would be a nightmare!

Pros: Positively positions our agency.
Very easy to get new licenses.
New billing structure makes it more affordable for smaller agencies like us.

Cons: Parts of the platform lack features.
The app is almost useless for design and marketing purposes but is great for entering contacts.

Overall: We have been on the Sharpspring platform for a year now. Before SharpSpring we were a web design and marketing agency that worked on one-off projects and sent our clients on their way once it was complete. After we made the decision to invest in SharpSpring it completely changed how we interact with our clients. It has helped us establish much longer retainers which makes it possible for us to build stronger, closer relationships with our clients. After just one year of weaving SharpSpring into our business, we have seen huge growth for ourselves and for our clients who have bought into the platform as well.

As with any other new technology, it hasn¿t been without some struggle. I am still not completely sold on their email builder platform. It lacks features and functionality that I grew spoiled by with MailChimp. Still, it beats having to jump from one platform to another to duct tape together all of our marketing efforts. We no longer need to have a separate landing page builder and email builder since SharpSpring does this all. I have full confidence that with the growth of SharpSpring they will beef up their email builder as well as landing page builder.

We are a growing agency and have hitched our growth to that of the Sharpspring platform. They can count on our business for many years to come.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you give SharpSpring a chance make sure you spend the first two months making it an integral part of your business before you market it as a service. Spend the time to get certified and encourage your team to get really comfortable using it. Be patient and consistent!

Major Deliverability and Customer Service problems

Cons: Deliverability & Customer Service

Overall: Someone else here has exactly expressed the truth about Sharpspring. Based on my tests, approximately 50% of Sharpspring emails don't get delivered, and their customer service is the pits.

I have stats to prove it, in case they try to claim I'm also a dissatisfied customer who they are going after with collections.

Here are the facts which I've already shared with them myself directly:

We have conducted our own A/B test comparing Sharpspring deliverability to Mailchimp using the *** account. We took the *** email list, arranged it in order by @domain, then alternated A/B for two test groups (we did this in order to split up emails from the same domain). Here is the feedback from our email specialist, who we trained in using SharpSpring:

Here's the head to head comparison. IMO MailChimp clearly does a better job delivering mail b/c the metrics are roughly double SS's across the board.

Mailed Opened Clicked Bounced Unsub
MailChimp 1267 250 9 32 13
Sharpspring 1268 132 4 4 6
MailChimp 1267 20% 0.7% 3% 1.1%
Sharpspring 1268 10% 0.3% 0.3% 0.5%

Clear evidence that their emails are not going through.

Now we have wasted: time to integrate their tool into our code, time to train our staff to use their tool, time to load the emails into their tool, time to dig into whether there is a deliverability problem, and most importantly sales opportunities (and our sales team's time not able to generate leads). Now I've spent all this time to try to get our money back. They have essentially refused, so I have put all their charges in dispute with my credit card company. We were attracted by the price and the feature set, but had no expectation that their tool would utterly fail at delivering emails.

I'm by no means endorsing Mailchimp as a marketing automation tool. There are competitors out there who specialize in this. But in terms of delivering emails, Mailchimp knows what they are doing.

Sharpspring's ethics are questionable, as evidenced by their refusal to refund our money when their tool is failing. If a customer of mine ever had the issues I've been having, I would immediately refund their money, but they have refused. They only give excuses about why they are too busy to get back to me.

By the way, their deliverability engineer straight up told me that they mark emails as delivered when they are not. Don't trust their numbers - do your own tests, like I did.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't be lured by the low cost. It will cost you way more in the end.

Pros: SharpSpring is easy to use and is robust. From contact to lead to client management, it's just drag and drop. The marketing automation tools are comprehensive, but simple. When trying to manage a lot of tasks at once, SS makes it seamless and nothing is missed. Their iphone app is great too!

Cons: I don't like where the NEW button is found on the menu bar, but otherwise, the software is easy to use and I don't really have any complaints.

Overall: Our agency started using SharpSpring in 2015 and we couldn't be happier. Our lead nurturing and contact management was a mess - switching monthly between new online platforms - but then we found SharpSpring and what a difference it has made for our business. No more lost leads or cold prospects. The SS interface is so easy to use and the flow is very logical. We have recommended SharpSpring to all of our marketing services clients and most have migrated away from the "big guys" and love the transition to SS. The customer support is FAST, helpful, and full of tips to make client management and marketing even easier. The pricing structure is one-of-a-kind in the industry and it's quite unbelievable to me how reasonable the monthly fee is.

In terms of email marketing campaigns, the template setup is robust, but simple. Our college intern was able to take over and figure out how to use SharpSpring in an hour! Several of our prospects noticed the change in the quality of our emails and asked what platform we use. This gave us credibility in the marketplace for being up on hip new technology.

Lastly, SIGN UP for a SharpSpring demo! You won't be disappointed.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it! At least do a demo and see what a powerful tool this can be for your business. We have added several clients onto our agency account and not one of them has been disappointed!

Pros: First, the set up is very easy, within 24 hours I can have a new client up and running. The automation is very flexible. Sharpspring comes with forms that can be placed on your website or can integrate with existing native forms. Sharpspring is a total marking solution that allows marketing to create landing pages, develop automated campaigns and track ROI.

The built-in CRM allows sales people to see the user behavior and interest, add to nurture campaigns and even gather data on anonymous visitors.

Cons: The reporting on the CRM side could be a little more robust, but for most SMB's that reporting is more than adequate. The Landing Page module is new and could use some more templates. If Sharpspring could build a direct integration with Wordpress for the landing pages, that would be great.

Overall: I have been using Sharspring for almost 3 years. I have B2B clients and B2C clients using the platform. Sharpspring has made some incredible progress in the past year. The customer support is excellent. It has a built in CRM that is fully integrated into the platform. With the new addition of the landing page and blog modules it is a complete Marketing Automation Solution. It is very user friendly and configurable. I highly recommend this software.

Recommendations to other buyers: Excellent Value! If you do not have a CRM or looking at upgrading your CRM, you may wish to look at Sharpspring. It has all the functionality of the major Marketing Automation Software with a CRM built in.

Pros: Once we signed up with SharpSpring you are given a 60 day onboarding process. This is where you are assigned to a onboard specialist and he essentially trains you. My onboard specialist was Deontae Lafayette who was fabulous, so knowledgeable and so patient with me. I really liked that I could have as much time with him as I needed. I made two one hour meetings every week. He would train me on something then I would work on that component and then we would review with our next meeting. After my 60 days ended he assured me that the support team is available as I need it. Also, SharpSpring has video tutorials that are accessible anytime I need to figure out how to do something. I really have enjoyed my time with SharpSpring so far as I feel they are really a very knowledgeable company and very easy to work with.

Cons: I really have not found anything I dislike. Some functions are not in formats i am used to with other platforms but one thing SharpSpring allows you is to send in a product feature that you would like them to consider and so far I have sent in two and they have used my suggestion and made that feature available.

Recommendations to other buyers: We are a PR firm and sent out press releases for our clients. We have used many other platforms but could never put our name to the releases. With SharpSpring it looks like our releases are coming from us and not another mail server.

Pros: Initially, the biggest feature was the lack of sticker shock associated with purchasing this software. We are a small marketing agency that drank the HubSpot Kool-aid so to speak. We signed on and went through all the training to become an Agency Partner. While it's great software, the price tag puts it outside the realm of feasible for most small business budgets. We found ourselves having to cut our own profits to get people to sign up for it and then they were frustrated at the year contract. SharpSpring solves that problem. They have the main automation product that goes head to head with HubSpot for features in every way for significantly less monthly investment and no lengthy contracts. Then they have the Mail+ product that's great for the really small clients. It has some limits on features, but offers a way lower price point for baby-stepping a client into the platform. And the most impressive thing was their onboarding process. They gave me unlimited access to a dedicated human while I was getting things set up and learning to use it for the first 60 days. The coolest part to me was that he was able and willing to deviate from the typical onboarding script. Instead of putting me through the usual paces, we spent our sessions diving into my client's needs and getting things set up. That saved me so much time and allowed me to onboard 8 clients in the first 2 months.

Cons: The landing page builder stinks- but honestly, I use Thrive Architect and WordPress anyway, so this didn't matter to me. When I pitched a feature request at them to look at Thrive Architect, the dev team said they were already talking to the owner of Thrive Themes and looking at how to either integrate it or build a similar tool. If they do anything even close, it would be awesome. And they don't have social publishing yet, but I'm told it's coming soon... fingers crossed.

I use SharpSpring for onboarding my new clients and I love the seamless process.

Pros: I am the Office Manager & Content Writer for our firm, so SharpSpring and other such programs are not my forte. That being said, I have found SharpSpring fairly easy to use in my weekly work life. We use SharpSpring internally for blasts, campaigns, and CRM and we also have 4 clients (soon to be five) using SharpSpring for their clients.

I use it mainly for onboarding new clients. I love the smart email option, and the custom fields. This makes my job a lot easier when I input a new client in as a contact and update all of their custom fields then just click send. I am able to track which documents the clients have opened, etc.

In the future, I plan on implementing my own onboarding automation as follow ups and reminders to clients to complete their onboarding process. I also plan on moving my onboarding forms into SharpSpring so that my entire onboarding process is in one place.

I've only been with the firm (and this product) for a few months, but I'm loving it all so far!

Cons: The things I have found that were missing, or confusing, or anything like that so far, have always been answered quickly by SharpSpring support, or are currently being implemented for future activation. Recently I reached out to support because there was no SOP for onboarding a new client on the Partner Portal. Within 24 hours, I had a preliminary copy of this document that they were working on pushing out.

I wish there were a way to view reports on campaigns sent out by date, rather than aggregate. I have a large campaign that we launched for a client, and we launch to a new subset weekly. Unless I create a copy of the campaign, I can't seem to find any reporting for each individual send. I have yet to reach out to support regarding this one, small inconvenience, and I'm sure if they don't have a solution they are probably already working on it =)

Pros: - Marketing automation tool easy to use after a few passes, and has a lot of flexibility around triggers and options.
- Forms are great for collecting lead information elsewhere (we use largely with Leadpages) and automatically pulling that data into SharpSpring/contacting the appropriate rep within our company.
- Reporting is pretty good; I really appreciate the ability to drill into the email reports on an individual basis.
- Self-help documents are pretty good.

Cons: - Customer service is weak (aside from onboarding). It took a long time (over a month) to resolve an integration issue, and in general customer support is slow to respond and not very knowledgeable.
- Email builder is just OK, and customization options on forms are limited. I would love to be able to better manipulate the look of the forms we use.
- Landing Page tool is new, and I expect it to improve, but it's clunky and hard to build what I want at this time.
- There is sometimes a lag in reporting that makes it hard to confirm in real-time if an email has gone out/an import is loaded, etc.

Overall: Overall, SharpSpring meets our needs. We do not need a full content management system (ala HubSpot), but we needed a more flexible email marketing tool and a good way to drive leads for our sales team.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take advantage of onboarding. It's the one time you'll really have knowledgeable help; however, they weren't great at driving the conversation. Before you start onboarding, set out a plan of all the things you want to learn and explore, and continue to update that. You'll want to schedule a lot of time in advance; it books up quickly.

Pros: The price point is phenomenal. You get all of the standard functionality of a professional marketing automation platform at a fraction of the cost of the competition.

Cons: We'd like to see more third party integrations. As a newer platform, SharpSpring is still behind when it comes to providing fully baked connections to external services. The Zapier integrations will hold us over for now, but we're waiting patiently for more. =)

Overall: After several years as a Marketo partner, we grew tired of our clients and prospects complaining about the cost of the marketing automation technology we were offering. SMB marketing budgets are tight enough, but the bloated technology we were bringing to the table was eating half the spend. The technology is not all that sophisticated when you get down to it, so we were right with our clients when they wondered why this application was so damned expensive. And we patiently suffered the indignity of having brilliant campaign ideas cut short by shriveling budgets, constantly roped in to make room for the technology.

So you can imagine our relief when we discovered SharpSpring. Finally, a marketing automation technology that made sense. Not just because of the price, but also because of the intelligently designed user experience. Your marketing automation technology does not have to be hard to use -- you wouldn't put up with clunky UX in any other application, why would you tolerate it in your business software? And no, in fact, it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. They didn't resurrect Albert Einstein to write their code.

With SharpSpring we get a robust marketing automation platform for our content marketing operations. We not only implement and deploy this application as a standard part of our content marketing services, we also use it for our own campaigns.

This is the future of marketing automation.

Recommendations to other buyers: Stop shopping, SharpSpring is the one you're looking for. I've spent years in this field and I've carefully evaluated almost all of the available solutions. Everyone has different needs, obviously, but if you know how to do marketing automation strategy and you need a reliable tool to carry out your operations, this is the application you're looking for.

Pros: SharpSpring offers effective, powerful tools for digital marketing in a single application. It allows me to offer affordable automation to my clients for their email campaigns, landing pages, CRM, and sales management.

SharpSpring offers fair agency-focused pricing at a fraction of what Infusionsoft, HubSpot, and Ontraport charge.

The price offered to agencies allows me to pay less than end-users, decide what I want to charge my clients, and operate without concern that they will simply go around me and compete for my customers.

I start with the ability to manage up to 100,000 contacts and three client accounts without paying extra. And I have the freedom to operate the tools on behalf of the customer, offer only the tools the customer needs, or offer the full suite of tools directly for customer use.

They provide fast and reliable "real-person" support when I need it. SharpSpring team members are the most helpful and friendly people in the business. All support comes directly from their headquarters in Gainesville, Florida delivered by kind and knowledgeable staff who are truly dedicated to my success.

Cons: SharpSpring has only been in operation since 2014, so some features are still in development. However they are eager to consider suggestions from agency partners and constantly working to improve the product. With such great customer service and an already impressive set of tools, a little patience for upcoming developments is a small price to pay.

Overall: I received the ability to help my clients on a whole new level. I am now able to offer tools and functionality that only large firms could previously afford. With email marketing, landing page building, automation, CRM, and sales management capability, I can provide more and better service to my customers than ever before.

Pros: Last year my company decided to switch from Hubspot -where we'#39;d been for three years- to SharpSpring. We knew the transition would be tough, but SharpSpring seemed like a great, and less expensive, alternative. Now, a few months in, we only wish we switched sooner. While SharpSpring doesn'#39;t have everything Hubspot does, it has a lot of things Hubspot does not, and it has everything we need as a small business. My only complaint originally was that there was no social media calendar, but they just added one in December, which means we can use SharpSpring as our complete marketing and sales hub. Part of onboarding with SharpSpring includes one-on-one calls with a member of the team where you are taught about features of the program. At first, we thought this was unnecessary, but we really benefited from the guidance we got during onboarding. Here'#39;s a recent example of the kind of customer service you get from SharpSpring: He was our onboarding contact and when we had our last call he told me that, while onboarding was over, we were welcome to contact him if we had any questions. Yesterday I had a question about a workflow that customer support may have been able to answer, but that I thought the may be better able to help me with since he knows our company and our strategies. He wrote back by the next morning with detailed instructions on how I could achieve what I wanted to. This kind of support really sets SharpSpring apart and I would absolutely recommend it to others, especially those with small businesses like ours.

Cons: My only complaint with SharpSpring is that some tools can be a bit buggy sometimes, but customer support has always been very helpful.

Comments: As an agency we use SharpSpring not only for ourselves but also our clients.

There is so much one can do with it, but for us we really get awesome value out of it as a lead generation tool that we hook in with our LinkedIn strategy. We¿re a B2B business so it¿s very much about relationships and SharpSpring allows us to find that critical balance between automation and personalisation.

We also use it extensively for our sales teams to manage leads, targets and projections. At a glance I¿m able to see where the key opportunities are for any particular month and focus my energy and support on the sales people that sit with those leads. Additionally for those struggling, I can get a picture of where in the sales process they are having difficulty and provide the support and training needed. It allows me to prioritise my time more effectively.

If I¿m nit picking the newsletter design interface is the only thing not as intuitive as I¿d like it. I believe that is in part due to the huge functionality and intelligence offered in the creation of workflows, that just means it¿s tricky to keep it super simple. But the beauty of the SharpSpring team is they are always looking to evolve and improve the product. So I know that tiny quirks that may not sit 100% with me now, will be tweaked and adjusted on a continual basis and very soon down the road, it is improved. And I love that fact. So many other products we have tried in the past stood still and stopped adding additional value. I know with SharpSpring they will continue to push our teams with their functionality, rather than the other way around.

Comments: TLDR: - Destroyed my SalseForce database - Terrible support - Bad sales experience Let's start at the beginning. The sales process was confusing thanks to SharpSpring's disorganized channel model. I was unable to buy directly from them because I happened to speak to one of their resellers after I initiated a conversation directly with SharpSpring. This doesn't seem like a big deal, but it slowed down the purchase which I was trying to expedite. Furthermore, it took about a month for them to find me two relevant reference customers to speak with about their experiences with SharpSpring. Next, implementation and support were terrible. Because I purchased through a reseller, I was unable to work directly with the SharpSpring team to get my data imported and integration set up with SalesForce. My reseller didn't have the experience to accomplish these tasks, so they ended up working with the SharpSpring team and looping me into a frustrating game of telephone that further extended my implementation time. As painful as the sales and support experience was, the most critical problem was the complete corruption of my database. SharpSpring managed to swap data on leads such that email addresses, phone numbers, names, and other data was randomized such that a given lead name could have a different email address and phone number associated with it. I didn't catch this issue until it impacted about 70% of my database, causing complete confusion in our sales and marketing efforts. After disconnecting SharpSpring, I was able to clean up some of the data, but I still have a mess on my hands and have sunk a substantial amount of time into cleaning up my data. Where was support during all this? Practically nonexistent. It wasn't until I emailed as many contacts as I could find at SharpSpring with the threat of abandoning the platform that I finally received limited help.

Pros: The interface is straightforward and fairly easy to use. However, this does not make up for the company's and product's shortcomings.

Cons: As mentioned above: - Destroyed my SalseForce database - Terrible support - Bad sales experience

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't do it. Explore other options. ANY other option will be better.

Comments: Early in 2014 I received an email from SharpSpring that piqued my interest. I had been looking for a marketing automation tool that was easy-to-use, scalable, and frankly affordable. I'd examined hubspot, marketo, and pardot but they all veered towards the enterprise. And I was looking for a solution that my agency could utilize in helping our small business clients. So when the email came through, I clicked on it via my iPhone. I read a little, and thought I'd check it out more later, and headed off to work. At my office, I received an email from Rick, the President of SharpSpring, and it outlined the pages I had visited and asked if I wanted to learn more. I was hooked.

We use SharpSpring to grow business for our clients. Many of them are focused on ecommerce - so we were early adopters of SharpSpring¿s shopping cart tracking and their new abandon cart feature. We've developed and use many successful drip campaigns that nurture casual browsers and convert them into paying customers. Our clients have enjoyed great, trackable success, where we can see the original email subscription, see which email prompted a visit, and then when in the drip campaign they converted.

Moreover, our clients that sell via salespeople have enjoyed the lead scoring capabilities. One, in the first months after implementation, saw his closing rates triple because his sales staff was able to target the most qualified leads.

Is it all love for SharpSpring all the time? No, they¿re a young, rapidly-growing company, so there have been growing pains. But, most of our grievances with SharpSpring stem from its rapid introduction of new features. They don¿t always communicate new additions well or at all. Fortunately, they¿re usually easily understood, and if not, a quick call or email to our account manager gets an explanation quickly. And again, to their credit, they¿ve hired a new outreach person that¿s initiated weekly update emails, and they¿ve started monthly webinars. So even these growing pains are subsiding.

As an upstart in the marketing automation arena, SharpSpring is holding its own, and against our measurement for success - helping our clients to improve sales - they¿re hitting it out of the park. And to think, it all started more than a year ago with a simple email from Rick Carlson I read on my iPhone. We signed onboard, then several of our clients signed-on with us, and those clients have increased their sales too. That¿s why I say, ¿SharpSpring Rocks!¿

Cons: They've changed their customer service model a few times. During some of these change overs I've had to wait a short while for support, but they seem to have things worked out now.

Overall: I've had a great experience working with SharpSpring. I'm a consultant for companies developing new Content Strategy and Content Marketing Programs. As a result, I've had the opportunity to work with companies of all shapes and sizes in many different industries. SharpSpring has been a great fit for them regardless of size or market, and often at half the price of some of the bigger names in this space.

Their platform has been much easier to learn than some of the other systems on the market. I've worked with a few companies that insisted on using other platforms, and without exception, I've found those to have a sharper learning curve and in most cases your paying for bells and whistles that no one ever learns to use effectively and aren't necessary for a great content marketing program.
The SharpSpring team is doing a great job of focusing on what's really important as they add new features. The new landing page feature is great.

If you're implementing a marketing automation platform, I highly recommend you evaluate SharpSpring.

Recommendations to other buyers: I've seen some other reviews for Sharpspring on other sites that sound almost too good to be true. They're really not. All I can say is, check them out for yourself. You'll be glad you did.

They also have an excellent partner program that allows you to get your license through an agency that will help you set up your platform and make sure you are on a path to success.

Cons: Some of the new features they launch are pushed live before they work perfectly, but it isn't a major issue as the primary features aren't impacted. You can also be sure that any problems that do exist will be fixed quickly.

The only other issue I have had is with their support team being located in Soth Africa. This has lead to some questions not being answered quickly but if you use an agency partner this will not be an issue as they are your primary point of contact

Overall: I have been using SharpSpring for about two years now and have seen many improvements. For the price, it brings a lot of value to the table, and they are continuously adding new features and upgrades to the platform.

Any small or medium business looking at marketing automation software should consider using SharpSpring.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you do a Google search for agencies that offer a discount on the monthly price before you buy :)

A powerful marketing automation tool with the an incredible agency business & pricing model

Comments: As producers of B2B sponsored webinars, optimizing audience acquisition outcomes is a critical part of our client deliverables. We made a change to utilize its email marketing capabilities and loved it's agency business/pricing model too. Their agency business model is more than just words. They provide us a "free Instance" to use for our own marketing automation and biz dev objectives. The pricing model is very attractive, for e.g., they don't monetize on how large of a database is being stored, rather they provide an allowance for email sends/period.

It's easy to use UI and other features such as creating a unique Instance for each client, means there's no risk of co-mingling of data/emails/databases between accounts aligns with our use case. The on demand email campaign performance reporting is straightforward, as no special programing is required. It even allows visibility to measure how each individual list is performing against the others or to compare it to other campaigns.

The Forms feature is easy to use for providing prospects access to download our assets such as eBooks, etc. We're also going to use the cool workflow automation feature to set up trigger campaigns to nurture folks who download the assets.

An improvement I'd like to see, is after submitting a job, while a dialogue is returned on the screen, I'd like an email sent acknowledging not only that the job has been submitted into the queue, but also when it will be sent. I'd like to receive weekly updates of all fixes and enhancements, or even have them put a video or webinar together explaining the changes.

Yet, their commitment to providing 1:1 service and support makes up for minor inconveniences, and they are extremely responsive and passionate about helping out.

While email marketing was our prime use case, we're keen to explore some of their other cool features. We are currently doing a pilot to evaluate the integration between GoToWebinar and SharpSpring, as this capability promises to streamline and automate our webinar workflows even more.

Depending on your use case, support and business needs, I would highly recommend you exploring this platform, as we're very happy with our decision and as mentioned above, know it will only get better over time as that's core to their success too. They understand the true meaning of what being a partner is, and it's in their DNA from their founder on down.

Pros: SharpSpring provides tremendous value for the cost. It has a breadth of functionality that provides the "all-in-one" integrated platform that our clients need but at a lower price point than other similar providers. I like the visual representation of the life of the lead and the the very light but easy to use CRM.

Cons: I don't think this platform is as easy to use for end users as more expensive options. Some of the navigation and set-up can be tricky. It can also be glitch-y, but it's still relatively young and the company is responsive about listening to feedback and fixing issues.

Overall: My company focuses on lead generation. Therefore, we are heavy users of marketing automation software. We use a variety of platforms, such as Eloqua, Marketo, Pardot, InfusionSoft, Act-On, etc. across our client ecosystem. We are also Certified Silver Partners of both HubSpot and SharpSpring. We have used both HubSpot and now SharpSpring.

Recommendations to other buyers: I believe this is a solid choice for SMBs that are priced out of other options. I would recommend making sure you understand your requirements to make sure you choose the best solution and then working with a partner agency to get the best price and to minimize frustration with implementation and set-up (which you would experience with any marketing automation implementation).

Comments: The mission of SharpSpring is to bring the most fully featured sales and marketing platform to small and medium business, giving us an advantage over the big guys. They do this by being a partner, with a powerful, intuitive platform, and offering unsurpassed value.

THE COMPANY:

Everyone with whom we have interacted at SharpSpring has actively sought ways to make us successful with the product. From the President and Founder to Account Services to Support, they've been responsive, quick, personable and thorough.

SharpSpring is a young company with the dynamics to match - quickly rolling out features we¿ve requested correctly the first time. Most of the time, support issues are addressed the same business day, larger issues within a week.

It¿s clear that the company culture is one of work hard, play hard, have fun and be excellent. They have proven to be not just a platform, but an eager partner.

THE PLATFORM

Sharpspring is incredibly intuitive. Our clients are not tech savvy; yet they have been able to gain confidence with the features of the product they need to use. The interface is clean. With plentiful context-specific options on one screen, it¿s easy to access all necessary tasks, boosting productivity.

It's also highly customizable. Set up custom deal stages that reflect your particular sales process; or construct a lead scoring scenario that allocates extra points to leads within your zip code, or with a certain area code. Set yourself up to focus on leads that are more likely to convert for more sales, more quickly.

SharpSpring provides the missing link between online and offline campaigns, because all can be tracked within the system. Not only that, but callers can be tracked, enabling improved sales and marketing alignment. This is the only marketing automation solution we¿ve found that has fully integrated CRM and call tracking. All of this in one place is a dream of many of ours - right?

THE VALUE

We evaluated many other well-known platforms, and feared we would not be able to add marketing automation to our agency's services because of cost.

Between robust features, a partnership model of doing business, and incredible value, Sharpspring has allowed us to raise our role with clients to be much more highly consultative - and valuable.

We enthusiastically recommend SharpSpring at every opportunity.

Pros: SharpSpring filled a void in our content marketing program, enabling us to better understand which resources impact our lead-gen and sales process. It also allows us to follow up with leads in intelligent ways, sharing relevant, personalized information and tracking response.

The SharpSpring platform is very easy to use and configure, and their customer service is top-notch. We especially appreciated their Onboarding process, which equipped us with the skills and knowledge we needed to manage the platform on our own. That self-reliance was crucial in our decision to move forward with SharpSpring.

We feel that the pricing is more than fair, and we are seeing tremendous value from the platform. SharpSpring helps us to have a truly integrated marketing and sales function.

Cons: We'd like to see more flexibility in the reporting--the ability to create a personalized dashboard with the precise metrics we need to monitor on a daily basis. The information is available in SharpSpring, but we have to look in several different places to find it.

Overall: - Ability to better understand the goals and needs of prospects and follow up with them in meaningful ways
- Ability to track the performance of site content and resources
- Ability to house all assets in a single, trackable repository

Pros: Pricing structure, extensive easy-to-use features, works with any CMS so you're not locked into a proprietary CMS for your website.

Cons: Organizing tasks and workflows into folders can be a bit cumbersome because you have to create them and then move them into the folder. I would like to be able to assign them to a folder when I create them because I sometimes forget to do it ;)

Overall: We had looked at several other marketing automation companies and were very frustrated. Not only was the price high, but some required upfront payment of a year just to sign up. On top of that, we wouldn't have had access to all of the available features, even though the price was very high for a company of our size. I was thrilled when we found SharpSpring. They've been great to work with, have awesome features and tools, fair pricing, and friendly customer service, and are constantly adding and improving features. I'm excited to see what the future holds for SharpSpring, and know that whatever is to come will help us grow our business. Thanks to all the gang at SharpSpring!

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're interested in starting to use marketing automation or even if you're already using another system, you owe it to yourself to give SharpSpring a look. I can't imagine why anyone would choose a different one if they were familiar with SharpSpring!

Pros: The pricing structure of SharpSpring is the key advantage compared to other platforms. An agency pays a monthly fee for licenses that are used with clients. Rather than investing in marketing, SharpSpring keeps the prices super low and allows agencies to promote the platform.

Cons: My primary concern with SharpSpring is the complexity of shopping integrations. SharpSpring works flawlessly with Woo Commerce and Shopify, but integration with BigCommerce is a challenge. I¿ve reached out to different web design agencies looking for a fix for BigCommerce, and I am still looking for a solution. Once integrated, the SharpSpring shopping features are amazing!

Overall: My goal was to find an HubSpot alternative for marketing automation. HubSpot is a great platform and I have zero complaints about their services. The challenge with HubSpot is the pricing model. When a client signs up for HubSpot at $2,400, it creates a challenge to negotiate adequate agency costs. I lost potential clients who could not afford HubSpot plus agency services. SharpSpring has become my alternative for marketing automation, and I think SharpSpring offers equivalent serves compared to HubSpot. The advantage of using SharpSpring is the pricing model that gives agencies control over client pricing.

Recommendations to other buyers: For anyone who¿s considering HubSpot of MailChimp, I would give SharpSpring careful considerations as a potential alternative, but at more than half the cost.

Pros: Our company has been using SharpSpring for over a year now. Not once have we ever encountered a problem that wasn't resolved within the hour through SharpSpring's speedy customer support. The features built within this CRM go way beyond others while still remaining extremely competitive with the pricing.
Another amazing aspect of this software is the simplicity. While SharpSpring is extremely diverse and has countless features and tools, it still remains relatively simple to train our new hires on the system. Sharpspring creates the ability to seamlessly integrate marketing automation within the CRM. The drip email options have saved and gained myself and our company as a whole, countless opportunities that before would never have been reached. As a smaller agency slowly growing into a large agency, our experience with SharpSpring has done nothing but strengthen and encourage our growth. Small, Large, or Medium - SharpSpring can truly solve all of your CRM needs and more.

Pros: Combination of several platforms all in one solution.

When developing automated workflows it helps to construct more effective targeted communciations

Cons: Emails can occasionally be a little difficult to format to exact requirements using the editor and sometimes require HTML coding therefore needs technical assistance

Overall: SharpSpring has proved to be a very effective platform for our agency as it is a combines several different platforms both ourselves and our clients were previously using into one cost effective platforms.

The platforms that SharpSpring have replaced for the agency and our clients include MailChimp, SalesForce and Lead Forensics.

We have found that the combined cost of the platform is often lower than just one platform that our clients are using currently, therefore helping to facilitate easier discussions.

Also during our time as a partner there has been a constant stream on new innovative features released which serve to add value to the complete offering.

Another key feature that we have found to be of advantage is that there are no additional costs for multiple users, something which has proved to be effective compared to many other CRM platforms.

Comments: I run an agency and B2B Adwords marketing is a specialty of ours. Integrating Sharpspring with our PPC campaigns allows me to look at the lifetime value of the leads we bring in, and tie specific sales, and revenue amounts, back to my ad campaigns to see real ROI for clients. This is critical for profit-driven marketing. Also, the CRM and tracking features allow clients to more effectively nurture leads across longer sales cycles in B2B and high-value conversions. Frankly, you don't have to use all of the tools to have it worthwhile. If you have a use case where you're actively selling to customers along a not-short sales cycle you really should have something like this.

Pros: Good company. I had an issue I had to take up with leadership and they solved it in a very fair and honorable way. I CANNOT say that about their competitors. The value for the toolkit is super good, especially if you get it through an agency as they focus a lot on partnering with agencies.

Cons: They've had some growing pains. Some things are not perfect. But I'd rather work with folks who have integrity and are CONTINUALLY working to improve the product. Other companies spend their money trying to lock you down to use their product. They spend a LOT on marketing. Sharpspring focuses its resources on developing the most awesome product for money out there. It also has a very open API so you can make it talk to other products (like if you already have a CRM you use). Sorry, this is cons. The point is there are some things that are not graceful. Like where you would want a notification that an action is complete but it doesn't tell you and you have to look carefully. Some things are a bit ungraceful. It gets it done, but you have to learn the ropes.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's good to work with an agency that knows what they're doing to fully maximize your value. Things go much more quickly with some of the setup and API integrations for someone who does this all the time vs. someone doing it the first time. Shop around on price if you do go with an agency. Some may have a larger markup than we charge.

Comments: Besides SharpSpring's low cost compared to other platforms, the main benefit to our agency and our clients is SharpSpring's simplicity and ability to implement, manage, and report on cross-channel marketing campaigns with ease. SharpSpring makes creating emails simple with its easy editor and built-in templates, and setting up automated email drip campaigns is as easy as checking a few boxes and filling in a few fields. SharpSpring even comes packed with an easy to use VisitorID function, which allows our agency to see the companies that are visiting our website and what pages they visit. This helps us monitor our own marketing and get smarter about reaching out to potential clients or partners. On the flip side to SharpSpring's extremely simple and easy-to-use interface, it is definitely not as complex or robust as a larger, more expensive solution. This is actually a really good thing. For our agency and for any business that wants to implement marketing automation without opting for an enterprise-level solution, SharpSpring absolutely a smart option worth looking into.

Pros: SharpSpring combines all of the things I want without complicating my processes with the stuff I don¿t need. And it connects and complements the right activities together in one platform that seamlessly fits into my business development approach. SharpSpring, like any of the popular systems, isn¿t a replacement for smart business development. It¿s a tool to make you smarter and more successful. It represents the best of Salesforce, Hubspot, Leadlander, Campaign Monitor, Social platforms, Google analytics, Post-it Notes and everything else, with a simple, easy to use interface that I call marketing magic. For less than a car payment, it has cleaned up my desk, made me better organized and put me in the driver¿s seat of new business.

Cons: That I didn't discover SharpSpring sooner. What I wouldn't do to get back all the wasted time I spent trying to get the other top name systems to do what I want as easily and intuitively as this product.

Pros: Can really get started quickly. From importing current contacts via CSV to sending those initial contacts an email, it's fast, simple and can bring some great results. Our agency began using SharpSpring in late 2016 after we compared other marketing automation platforms. The pricing structure was just what our growing digital agency needed...not to break our bank, but to allow us to mature and grow and provide awesome automation solutions to our client base. Our agency doesn't have a sales team, we're just made up of a handful of partners currently, and we're able to nurture new clients and grow our leads into customers all by utilizing workflows and email campaigns. Couldn't grow without SharpSpring.

Cons: One thing that comes to mind is SharpSpring is still considered "young" in the MA space. But with all the changes and integrations their dev team is implementing, SharpSpring could "spring" to the top of the list very soon.

Comments: We have been on the Sharpspring platform for nearly a year now and it has changed our agency. Back in the day (you know, a "whole" 8 years ago), inbound marketing and the software that supported its methodology was not a very crowded sandbox. But now there are all kinds of full blown platforms and other software stacks - needless to say, the playground is getting full. What made Sharpspring appealing to us what how it allowed us to "handle the transaction". Our clients know we use Sharpspring but they continually refer to it as if it were "our platform" - this instantly changes the way they (and prospects) see us. That being said, it has not been without its bumps and bruises. There have been times when features just didn't seem to work or required some guesswork (i.e. - building dynamic lists based on lead info seems to be hit or miss and the email builder is a bit clunky). In all fairness, we have just been too busy to become fluent in all aspects of the platform so this gripe may totally be on us, and not Sharpspring. All in all, I don't see us moving in another direction any time soon. We are a growing agency and we have hitched our growth to that of the Sharpspring platform.

Pros: Positions our agency as the resource. Up and running in a matter of minutes. Because of the quick implementation, a quick ROI to the client is much easier.

Cons: Parts of the platform are still clunky. On rare occasions, the platform cannot be reached. Because of its age, integrations are still limited.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are a growing agency or business you owe it to yourself to at least give Sharpspring an opportunity. The way it is priced and is ease of implementation will give you and your clients early wins, especially if there hasn't been a platform like this in place yet in your agency or business.

Pros: From a price to value ratio, Sharpspring is hands down the best option for marketing automation software. They cater to marketing agencies and offer them great pricing. The interface is clean and easy to use and they add new features each week. Comes with a built-in CRM that is pretty robust and works perfectly with the automation software. Also integrates with Salesforce.

Cons: Missing chat capabilities and the landing page builder is pretty bad at the moment but is improving. They also tend to rollout new features before fully working out the bugs in existing features, which can leave you with many features that you don't use.

Overall: I use it everyday for my business as well as for clients. If you do online lead generation and marketing and want to be able to track ROI online, this is the tool to use. Great value for your money.

Pros: Best value lies in its consolidation of several important marketing tools in one (eg site analytics, lead tracking, form creation, email campaigns, landing pages). This enables most small and medium size businesses to handle all the marketing within a single tool, which provides great synergy and a full view of the customer lifecycle. Overall though, this is a perfect tool for organizations who need a single platform for their awareness building, conversion and lead nurturing.

Cons: Lots of tools in the 'light' category so if using for a more Medium to large sized business you might be better off with more specific tools for certain jobs (eg: email wysiwyg vs a more dedicated service such as mailchimp). That said you can integrate all those tools in sharpspring to track.

Pros: Set up is easy and quick, all of the basics are already in place

Cons: Some basic things around date triggered comms and the lack of ASCII code compatibility

Overall: SharpSpring is a super marketing automation for agency and end users alike. The interface is simple and easy to use, with all of the basic functionality for your CRM and marketing automation.
It is quite simple to get a profile up and running and to begin using the functionality. The self-help guides are comprehensive, but some coding knowledge is definitely needed in order to fully use the landing pages and tracking codes.

I find the email builder simple enough to use and the conditional display rules work well once you have correctly segmented your database. The sending speeds are fantastic and the integrated media centre and rules allow you to take your personalisation based on interaction to the next level.
The webforms are not designed for traditional CRM use, more for marketing automation and I have found some of the more simple functions missing, however the easy to use native forms and integrations with other systems allow you to work around most of the issue.
The newly-launched persona's and landing pages are great and have made a huge difference to the service we are able to offer our clients.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great for people with a strong base with Marketing Automation, but also for those just starting.

Pros: I don't like this product. It might be well suited for someone who is very interested in sales and there seems to be a lot different ways to use this product. But it's not something i'm interested in spending as much time as it would take to learn how use all those functions. So, good selling point for others, but not user friendly for me.

Cons: I find it kind of difficult to navigate and I it is extremely confusing figuring out how to save date entered in each tiny little section. there isn't an overall save button, so if you don't click save in each section, you lose a lot of what you've entered. there are way too many things to navigate on the site and I find difficulte to figure how to get from one service to another. Retyping in names and company names as lead's is way too much trouble. I also don't like that you send multiple emails to notify of one lead. Pop ups, every time you click to different page you have to x out of are annoying. Lead assignments are confusing. The Pipeline is confusing to navigate. This could all be because we were not trained how to use the system from the start and the company has decided to use it differently over time, but even still, this system is confusing.

Recommendations to other buyers: Learn everything you can from the start. If you start using it one way, or certain portions of it, and then add uses, it will confuse you.

Pros: Great for marketing automation, email sending, testing and reporting. It was very easy to set up and get connected to our Google Adwords and our website. My goal for 2017 is to use SharpSpring's email automation to help me create a better buying funnel for our leads.

Cons: There was some time in the beginning of set up where I had to reach out to a developer for some coding help. That was not sharpsprings fault, we are using 2 different CRMs and they needed to talk to each other. It works fine now. Another con, I wish there was a connection with Bing Adwords.

Overall: We had a budget for Adwords and I always wanted more money to put into it. My boss would always ask. What is our ROI? I could tell him how many clicks and conversions we received and then he would ask. But are they buyers? Because of SharpSpring we know that they ARE buyers and I was given a larger budget knowing it was bringing in a great return. I also love the email builder, HTML, spending, segmenting and testing abilities.

Before SharpSpring we were pulling lists at random for our call center. Now we know what leads are warm because of the score. Every time they visit our website, click an email or fill our a form they get a higher score. We are able to call out more effectively and have a reason for doing so.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you have a lot of website code to change you might need to consult a developer BUT sharpspring has a great staff that can talk you through almost anything as long as you have access.

Pros: Our lead generation is based around who fills out a form on our website. Sharpspring's email and template builder allows us to create branded emails which are tied into our drip campaigns that help prospects become better informed on us and our service.

Cons: The auto-save feature has bitten me in the butt a couple of times. In one instance I had a new landing page built, thought it auto-saved, exited the program when I was leaving the office, and it was gone. While I had to start from scratch that allowed me to become better acclimated with the software.

Overall: Prior to working at Michigan Creative I was familiar with marketing automation via hubspot inbound marketing certification. However, I had no hands on experience with that type of software. When I started at Michigan Creative my first duty was to become familiar with SharpSpring and go through and revamp how Michigan Creative uses the software. What I found the most helpful was the tutorials and ease of use. I found that you don't need to be an expert to use the software for its very basic application.

Recommendations to other buyers: I don't think people know that the software exists as much as they should. Hubspot dominates the market and I prefer SharpSpring.

Pros: Features are easy to use but really powerful. Intuitive to use, low price in comparison to other apps. Great support

Cons: Sometimes has performance issues or bugs but they are resolved pretty quickly. Limited Social media functionality

Overall: We chose SharpSpring after doing an extensive review of several marketing automation apps on the market. We've used SharpSpring for over a year now and have been really pleased with the system, the support and the results we are getting.

As a relatively small organisation (25 employees) we needed a system that was easy to use with intuitive design and accessible but powerful features (esp as we use the system to manage all of our memberships too). The support has been fantastic and SharpSpring are always happy to go out of their way to help us get the most from the app. The pricing is very competitive and the feature set is great (and seems to be growing steadily with great new features released on a regular basis). Very happy to recommend SharpSpring.

Recommendations to other buyers: Great balance of price, functionality, support and features - would definitely recommend

Pros: As a marketing agency we work on a daily base with the Sharpspring Automation software and we use it for our own marketing as to drive leads for our clients. What I definitly like is that Sharpspring has a great support team friendly and always willing to help. The learning curve is quite steep in the beginning but when you get the hang of it is easy to use. The company keeps adding new features to the software. They also really listen to their users concerning feature requests and issue's. Overall I'm more than happy with Sharpspring Marketing Automation.

Cons: In my opinion the email builder is not what it can be but Sharpspring is still developing this feature and it keeps getting better.
