We use this application every day. It keeps our non-profit moving forward, allowing us to focus on our work. Pros We selected Flipcause for the ease of use for recurring donations and creating new campaigns. The short payment cycle was another key factor. As a small NGO, we could not afford to wait 15-30 days for payouts. The support team is very responsive and easy to contact when we have an issue. They have strong security and have worked with us to facilitate international donations. Cons The payment page has been slow to load at times but is usually fixed in the next software update. I anticipate that we would be switching within the next couple of years to a platform that has a bit more ease about it. Customer service is decent, not wonderful due to time lapses, but when we connect I've felt supported, questions have been answered or situations solved. Pros Fairly easy to set up website & change content. I like that there are campaigns that can be shelved, copied or deleted and that they can be integrated in a number of ways. Cons Lot's of chunky parts... ease of use regarding campaigns, types of sign-ups, limited offerings that would allow further control / design on our side. No crm option. If I were in the middle of creating xyz I'd be able to give better details. The percentage donors are charged has been a problem for many and we don't get back the amount I thought we were which was disappointing. Pros The website service is stellar; their response time and profressionalism is second to none. Cons Literally NONE of what they do matters if they are unwilling to transfer donation dollars to our bank account. When we first started with Flipcause, donations happened quickly. Over the last year and a half, every transfer request feels like a wrestling match. I will initiate the request, and then I will have to follow up on day 11 (after their self-imposed 5-10 business day turnaround) with an email, then a live-chat conversation, and then at least 2-3 more emails. And it seems to be getting worse, not better. Our board is suspicious, and I am now forced to contemplate finding a different company - and the painful process involved with moving all of our data and learning a new system. They made it very easy to integrate databases of donors to their activity tracker. And to transfer information from our old website to their system. After 6 years of using Flipcause we are delighted. Their system is easy and secure. We highly recommend their software and services. Pros The activity tracker, the ability to create campaigns and donation pages, the quick and efficient way in which they respond to our emails - it is human support!!! How easy it is to update our website. It is a reasonable yearly fee for a small non-profit. It has helped Friends of the Locust Fork River be organized, be better at fundraising, and become well known nonprofit in our community. Cons Nothing. We like it all! Pros Our favorite features include an integrated merchant processing system to reduce fees, ease of creating campaigns, ease of accessing information about our financial partners and the VERY RESPONSIVE customer service team! Cons It is hard to integrate information from the transaction and contact reporting areas. It is not unusual to have to create 2 reports and then merge them to get the needed information. This is also true about the Group reports and transactions. When they added Web service, they improved my website and made it look more current. I make most small changes myself, but my Flipcause Success Team helps me with anything challenging or too time-consuming. Pros Flipcause has enabled me to keep running my nonprofit without having to hire extra help. My Success Team is there to tweak anything, answer questions, create a new campaign, or update my web page. The Help content answers many of my questions, but most of it is easy to use. They also add new features that I love, like the Live Chat that gives me immediate answers to quick questions. Cons It was challenging to set up everything in the beginning, but it runs very smoothly for the most part. I wish someone would write new thank-you messages for each level of donation. My recurring donors must be tired of the same response every time! Fully implementing them and getting support transitioning our website in mid-2023 was less positive and a bit concerning. Ever since we've gotten fully implemented as of 7/1/23 the experience had steadily declined to the point there is zero support and next to no communication. It's not acceptable and as soon as we can get our money, if we get our money, we will be quickly moving away from them. Pros They provide a helpful web package. As a small non-profit, being able to easily update our website, in tandem with implementing donor software, is why we opted to initially move to Flipcause. It is no longer worth the stress. Cons Virtually zero customer service/support. You cannot actually speak with anyone there; all communication must be through email. Throughout the past 18 months we've used them, their response time has gone from within 24 hours, to ignoring most emails altogether. It's infuriating. If you're reliant on the funds that you are raising to operate your nonprofit, be aware that they state that when you request a transfer of your funds it should hit your bank account within 7-10 business days. That timeline alone is ridiculous, but we could manage to that if it was accurate. Never, since we've utilized Flipcause, have we received our money in this time frame. The last transfer request took me a minimum of 5 emails to get a response out of the company, and well over three weeks of waiting, before we received our funds. When they provide a reason for the delay, it never sounds believable. As of right now, it's 12/4/24 and I'm still waiting to receive funds I requested be transferred to our bank account on 11/6/24. And once our membership gets used to working with FC, they find it easier too. Pros I have recommended Flipcause to friends over the past 6+ years mainly because it has made my life so much easier, especially when reconciling our bank accounts. Financial transactions are clearly listed and what used to take hours to reconcile, now takes minutes. Campaigns run very smoothly, my success team is very helpful when we occasionally run into a problem. And it's now just a pleasure to work with them Cons There are two things that I like the least: 1. I used to be able to speak to a human being if I had a challenging question; but that has changed almost everywhere and every organization and I do get an email response rather quickly from my team. 2. It used to take 2 or 3 days to transfer funds from FC to our bank but now takes 10 days or more. However, this is becoming more typical of financial institutions of late. Pros The interface is very intuitive, which makes searching for basic information very easy even for beginners. Reports are easy to generate with a little practice. Very robust features for the price. Campaigns integrate directly with our website. Cons The system does not handle special characters very well. For example, it's not possible to enter a last name as O'Dell. This is awkward when exporting for mailing lists. The app seems limited and only useful for checking in attendees. Entries in custom fields can stack up in certain circumstances, which can bury useful information under special event details. Reason for choosing Flipcause Campaign integration into our website. I have had countless demos by sales people who pitch a great product, only to find out that their expectations and our expectations for what the price should be are leaps and bounds apart. Flipcause is the only company we've worked with that I felt was tailored specifically to our type of business. While our annual income routinely exceeds $1 million, we are relatively small. The software we've used before was not made for businesses like ours, and we had to "grin and bear it." With Flipcause, every part of their business model is based on companies similar to ours. It has been a blessing to be able to work with them. Pros Flipcause is designed for small non-profit companies like ours. It is the first software we've used that felt like it was created specifically for our needs instead of us having to make changes to fit software that was created for large corporations. Cons The initial startup costs for Flipcause seemed somewhat excessive, especially since we were not sure that it would be the right fit for us. Luckily, our board made the decision to go forward with them because we have made the initial investment back and have exceeded our prior year's fundraising goals before our fourth quarter has even started. Reports show a complete picture for each participant. This helps us easily understand what offerings are best received. Our first conference is coming next year. I'm excited to work with Flipcause on this HUGE project and having everything at my fingertips - registration, waivers, volunteer job descriptions, volunteer assignments, etc. Again, my advice - BUY IT TODAY. It is worth every penny you will spend. This platform has helped our organization grow already and we have only used it for a little over a year! Don't wait. Pros There are way to many things I like about the software to mention all. The BEST thing is having my own team who work closely with me to create a campaign that is professional, clear, beautiful and WORKS easily for participants. Team members are very quick to respond. Campaigns are ready within a couple of days for my review. I rarely wait more than one day to talk with my team, asking my questions and watching as they magically make the changes I desire. The team members are so much fun to work with! They are professional in every way, with excellent communication and technical skills. My requests are handled within 30 minutes and the campaign is ready to go. After that comes: awesome designs, functionality, ease of registering and donating. I have worked with the Donation and Registration Campaigns so far. My next step is to get our Volunteer needs online. Then comes Crowdfunding and the Store. Can't wait to experience the difference this will make for our organization! Having everything in one place makes it so easy! It is easy to get reports that are clear and accurate. Another thing that is impressive is that we made over $600 income because donors are asked to cover the fees when donating. That is more money for the organization! :) All in all, I don't have enough words to sing the praise high enough! This was the VERY BEST investment our growing nonprofit has made. AND they continue to add more ways to assist us. Just added the store! Cons The software takes time to learn - especially for someone like me with little understanding of the technology. The offset of this "con" is the Team does the work for me and is so helpful and willing to give me step by step instructions to pull a report, write a thank you, etc. I take a lot of notes in our conversations. Another "con" is that the email list functionality is in Beta testing. Once that happens then I can send newsletters through Flipcause. Right now our newsletters go through another platform and I have to remember to add our new members to that list! :) Being an international organization, having the ability to add language to the platform is really not needed. I just send the translations and the Team puts the information where it needs to be. From the sales person who answered all of my questions and demonstrated the product to the Success Manager and my account team, they have been there for me to help me get the most out of our website, campaign management and donations. The response time is almost instantaneous. Really the best product support that I have ever experienced! Pros The Flipcause team provided a great looking, engaging website that I can easily update myself or have their team update. In addition, the member dues & donation features provide an additional option to our members to donate to us. In fact, it has encouraged non-members to donate! Cons The campaign management feature could be more flexible to help us manage our events a little easier. Sometimes I have to adapt our requirements to the software instead of the other way around. But so far we have been able to get what we need from the software even if it is not an optimal solution. Kudos to the design and support teams at Flipcause! When I have had questions, responses are always prompt and thorough. Navigating the platform is very intuitive. Pros Very easy to learn not only the Flipcause functionality but also to manage the website completely in-house. For a basic product, it is very robust. Cons I wish there was a newsletter feature built-in so that we did not have to export CRV files to then import into another platform such as Mailchimp. I would love it all to be under one roof. I also wish that there was a Quick Books interface. I have figured out a system to periodically transfer funds, then record all transactions manually in Quick Books but it is time-consuming and clumsy. Reason for choosing Flipcause We actually went from entirely manual, no automation whatsoever, to Flipcause. We were first attracted to the option to build a new website which is included. It was in the development of the website end of things that we saw so much value in the Flipcause full product. May 12, 2022 5.0 Flipcause was such a game changer for our (very small) organization. This past year was the first year we used the software and we set a record in our fundraising efforts. Flipcause has streamlined our donation and event registration processes which in turn has resulted in increased efficiency. It's also made our event registration process much more organized and easy for our donors. We've loved our experience with the Flipcause team so far! Pros It's super customizable to our particular event and user-friendly. Plus, with the support of the Flipcause team, it makes everything so much easier on our small team. We have a very small two-person team running the show for our fundraising event, so we greatly appreciate all of the support Flipcause provides in addition to improving all of our website and donation functions. The reports it generates are so useful and the automated donor receipts have saved our team so much time. Cons When we were building our event, there were some pieces that seemed to be missing. However, whenever we brought these questions or concerns to the Flipcause team, they helped us work around it or considered the change as a whole and made the updates to the system. One detail in particular that we were interested in was giving the donor an option to cover a portion of the processing fee (rather than cover 100% or not at all) - we wanted to consider this just because some of our sponsorships are very large resulting in a hefty processing fee for them. Pros The Flipcause software, combined with access to our TEAM members assigned to our organization is great. If there is ever something that I do not understand or need assistance with they are an email away. The accessibility, ease of understanding the site and being able to pull what is needed has worked out great thus far. Cons Least liked, is the turn around on the softwhere to transfer donated funds to our website. The process has been extremely slow. This area definitely needs to be addressed and improved very quickly. There should be an immediate option transfer that costs extra, and one that takes 1-2 days max, like Paypal. Reason for choosing Flipcause I had a demo meeting w/ an initial Flipcause representative, and they sold me on the idea. " June 15, 2018 5.0 We can now now update and customize our website whenever and however we like instead of calling a third party. I have zero experience with website editing and even for someone like me it is extremely easy to figure out. The biggest benefit has been that the credit card processing is all essentially done through our website as well. They charge the lowest credit card processing fee we have seen and then all the information is stored in a donor database in the back end. Another great perk of this software is the customer service/design team that comes with it. We host many events and donation campaigns throughout the year and they make it easy to customize and create something for each event on their website including ticket sales and specialty requests. If you don't have time to create the campaign yourself you can send the information over to them and they will create it for you. We really don't have enough great things to say about the Flipcause team because the change has just been so monumental since switching over. It is much less stressful to manage our website and donations and donor database through one company than having 6+ third parties we constantly have to call. Pros Prior to using Flipcause we had third party entities which hosted our website (3+ outside parties) plus more third parties that ran just the donation part of our website (again 3+ other parties). Because we were using all these third parties it was very difficult to track down individual transactions and edit our website or really just any of the basic components we needed to do. Switching to Flipcause has made a WORLD of difference. Now our online payments and website hosting/editing is all run through ONE company. We have saved a lot of money (and time) by cutting down on all the third parties we were using and have been able to take better control of our brand because it is so easy to run our website and donations on our own. A major bonus has been the donor database feature of the website. Customer service is always quick to get back to you, and they will even set up donation campaigns and events for you. Another great thing about Flipcause is they are always adding and updating features. I feel like they truly listen to their clients and what they need and update their software to fit that. Unlike other companies we've worked with, I truly feel like they are listening to us and care what we have to say. Cons We have been very satisfied with the software, and the customer service team. February 1, 2022 5.0 We are so happy with Flipcause! When we first heard their offer we thought it was to good to be true. But they are the real deal, and working with them has been transformational for our small non-profit. We look forward to continuing to grow with them and hopefully for them to bring on new integrations like mailing list and mass email. I am not a bot, I just really want Flipcause to survive and thrive because of the impact they have had on our Non-Profit and how integral they are to our success. Pros It is fairly simple and easy to use. Where I have run into trouble an email to the success team immediately solves my problem. If I don't have time to implement a new campaign Flipcause will build out the bones for me and I can usually finish the details to my liking within an hour or two. They can fully build out campaigns and website pages for you, but I just find it faster to use them as support and for overall structure building. Cons Everything they do have I think works well, or well enough. So what I like least is that they do not have all the features I need to manage my non profit in house. Mainly mass emailing I wish that it was integrated with API directly to Flipcause so I could manage all my contacts in one place. Cons The Peer to Peer aspect of Flipcause has been difficult for us to implement well. I would love if there was a way to send mass communication through Flipcause. There is an option for visitors to your website to signup for your newsletter but no way to send newsletters through Flipcause. The customer service is quick and right on point. This is a benefit we can offer to our sponsored organizations that we can afford and makes their lives (and ours) much easier. Pros Where do I start?? We are a fiscal sponsor for 35 different organizations. We used to use our merchant account to take in all of the donations and I had to write donor letters for every single one. Also there was no way for donors to offer to pay the fee, so that took away from the donation. Now each sponsored organization and manage its own campaign, the donor letters are sent out automatically and we have the reports to keep track of everyone's funds. Cons Our sponsored organizations are not particularly tech-savvy. We had to record a Zoom video to train them on how to get set up and use the features. It would be great if Flipcause could do one comprehensive set-up video for the basics instead of a single how-to video for each feature. We love flipcause and the ethos behind it, as well as the can-do, positive spirit of the support crew. Pros I love how intuitive the Weebly system is, and how Flipcause is constantly working on adding features and capacities that make our work easier. Cons There are some features that have to be created by the support staff. This isn't a problem because our support team is very responsive and willing to help. But for some users, it might be more of an issue. Reason for choosing Flipcause Affordability, collaborative approach, flexible design choices, and most of all, the intention of the company to make web design and crucial nonprofit operations accessible to smaller orgs who need a helping hand.
