July 23, 2018 5.0 Pros My oversea's project team has been using this software to keep tickets working, communicate back and forth, and set deadlines. I love the way you can just respond back thru the same email that notified me of the communication and not have to log into the actual software and find the ticket to respond. I wish more support companies used this program. Nothing is more frustrating than getting an email that my ticket has been responded to, but I can't see the comment or respond without first logging into the software. OrangeScrum works so well, I almost never see the ticket dashboard. Now that is perfect! Cons As and end user, I have found nothing I don't like about the software. August 14, 2023 3.0 We used OrangeScrum for a few years, and it seems overtime the system got worse. A lot of issues with interface, navigation and just crashes. There were times where we couldn't use the software for the entire day because of some "caching issues" that they were experiencing. The interface is WAY too complicated and dated (compared to other offerings out there). Unfortunately, after years of trying to make this software work - we decided to ditch it and build our own solution that would work for us. Pros The feature set is pretty good, lots of functionality to manage projects, tasks and timeframes. Cons The software is very buggy, filters don't work half the time, sorting by date never works, getting a list of all "outstanding" tasks requires a lot of clicks and refreshes. The interface is VERY difficult to use, the system crashes a lot and considering the bugs - in some cases it's absolutely unusable. It is the life-blood of my company without which I would struggle to keep track of the work. Pros I like the wealth of information available in the summary dashboard as well as the different views for the task list which I find particularly helpful when filling out timesheets. Overall it is incredibly easy to use and customise, and a great aid to tracking the daily TODO list. Cons The only thing that really bothers me is the very limited WYSIWYG formatting options when adding comments to a task, in particular the lack of a preformatted/code option and/or text colour. Admittedly I am using the free version but that does seem like a pretty basic requirement. A small gripe would be that the addons seem a little overly expensive hence I have learned to live without them. We will implement the software into our planning and objective setting and goal reaching endeavors. Pros I love the accessibility of OrangeScrum and the infinite ability to customize the software to the needs and comfort of all the users within out work groups and organization as a whole. Cons Screenshots on the Community Edition of the software show OrangeScrum as a mobile app on a phone. This lead me to believe a mobile version would be installed with the software. Thus far I have only found the mobile api as purchasable add-on, but still, I think that is limited to payroll, and not so much a mobile version of Orangescrum. It also gave us a way for clients to submit all of their content for their projects and by doing that, it cut down on the number of emails we would get with project material. Having all of our project material in one location made it easy for everyone involved with any project, to stay up to date with new files and changes. Pros The ease of use is the thing I liked most about this. My clients are very comfortable with the layout and platform. Cons The only con I can think of, is that the web version isn't responsive. Having it responsive would make it easier for clients that don't have the mobile app easier for them to use while on the go. Seriously, mention one, and we have used or at the very least demoed it. The ones that we liked were crazy expensive, and the ones that were more reasonably price were only a little better than excel. OrangeScrum has a delightful blend of affordability and features. I love the dashboards and views that are available. The Kanban view makes it easy for our teams to coordinate. I can take the resource manager and better coordinate the timelines/deadlines for our clients. One unique feature that I have come to love is the "Daily Catchup" which allows me to get an automated summary of everything that was accomplished by my staff during the day. We are not a large company, but sometimes managing team and daily tasks can get a little unwieldy. Cons The biggest issue that I am having with the platform is the billable time. OrangeScrum allows you to set certain tasks to "billable". It's great but in order to create an invoice, you need to access each "project" individually instead of a global view of all billable items. Scrum Master Computer Hardware Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Finally a good task tracker" October 17, 2020 4.0 So far I really like it Pros When I set out to find a task tracker I found plenty of Cloud based services that seemed to do what I wanted but I really needed to have more control. As a programmer and designer I wanted something that not only worked but that I could also plug into my local systems. OrangeScrum seems to allow me to do that, the addons are a single cost and the self hosting option seems to be priced right. Cons It took me a couple days to get the community edition installed. I'm using Slackware 15 (bleeding edge features) and had to downgrade some packages to get OS installed. Installation took awhile as the instructions would assume it to work perfectly out of the box. Granted my distro was not "supported" but its just a web app, you don't need a package to make it work and I'd like to have some instructions to aid in those efforts. Reason for choosing Orangescrum Self hosting option and one time purchases for add-ons. I'm not sure how updates will be handled and i hope they will be free or reasonably priced. Cons I would suggest if Task# or its title is present in "Resolution Time Report" would be fine. because it already has average days and total no:of days to resolve the tasks with no:of tasks, if just an identification is linked to this feature it would be more transparent to extract reports immediately.... December 18, 2017 5.0 Pros OrangeScrum has all necessary features for project control, is user friendly, easy to use and free source. So you can use it as self-hosed free version with the basic features or as a cloud solution. In both ways you can upgrade the system with a lot of extra premium features for your daily work. The customer support team is great and experienced. Cons A lot of features are still available as pro elements / add-ons. They are not really expensive, but if you need some of them - you costs can grow up rapidly. The add-on combos/bundles are not free to choice what whould be nice for the customer. The frame work/structure of responsive web elements lack and the only option to use mobile app which is available is to pay for executive add-on product.
