We rely on email marketing for our business, and from day one the team at MailerLite have been professional and helpful, day and night. Cons The building blocks, as I think of them, are a little bit rigid, especially when it comes to combining images with text. But I usually am able to find something that I can customize for our specific needs. It does what I need it to do, it doesn't try to steer me into areas that aren't relevant to my business, it's affordable, and it's reliable. I've needed help from support on a number of occasions and it's always been (a) a human response rather than an automated message that just repeats information you've already read in the help section, and (b) they stick with the issue until it's sorted. Pros It's easy to use and extremely flexible – lots of options and anyone at any level of expertise can use it. The support is first class, too. Overall, MailerLite feels like a personal service, which I wasn't expecting. Cons I'm not sure if this qualifies as "least liked," but my newsletter isn't aimed at product or service sales, so a lot of the options, advice, and tutorials aren't much use to me. (But there's enough for me to get on with the task, so no worries.) Pros Love it that I get 1000 subscribers free and can send 12k mails every month. I've also noticed that when I delete a subscriber, that is added back to the free subs. Setting up the automation feature is intuitive. The multi tagging feature for every subscriber makes it easy to add them to Groups. Cons Need to upgrade to use the time-zone sending feature. Also too bad it doesn't have a count-down timer feature for the blocks. The polling feature although is cool, it has problems integrating with scheduling a meeting/webinar at times. Founder Online Media Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Still chugging along on legacy" March 23, 2026 4.0 Pros In my last review, I wrote about how MailerLite launched an upgraded version of their product without any grandfathering in pricing for old users. This is still a bit of a bummer, but I'll hand it to MailerLite that they've maintained the old version, it still works, and the pricing has remained the same. Some subscription products would just force users into the new higher pricing option, so this is nice to see. Though it would be even nicer to be able to use the newer version at the same cost as I can't imagine that would actually cost the company any more money. I'd actually assume running two different versions (legacy + new) would cost more than just grandfathering old users into the new version. Cons The attempts to get me to upgrade from my legacy version to the new version are getting more sticky (there's now a banner at the top of the app 24/7). This has me a bit worried that at some point legacy will just stop working and I'll be forced to make the switch and start paying more. It's not abnormal for subscription services to get more expensive, but it is nice when they offer their long term users some sort of deal or benefit for being around for so long. I have two mailing lists for two different business ventures. One with 700 people on my list, and one with 7,000. MailerLite works fantastic whether you're on the free or paid plan. The only difference is (for how I use it), you can't use automated sequences on the free plan. I have very few complaints about the software. Pros I love how easy it is to use. It's a beautiful dashboard that's easily navigated. The WYSIWYG editor is super sleek. From adding new subscribers to setting up complex automations, it's all really simple. Cons Sometimes there's a hiccup in the system that causes text editing to mess up. What I mean is that I'll be typing and I'll get to where I am right now, and the cursor will reset to the beginning and start type there instead. If I refresh the page, the problem goes away. It has been easy to set up and train others on using it when I am not available. Pros Once its set up, its easy to create automations, landing pages, and set up and schedule email campaigns. I LOVE that I can set up emails to go out in the future--I can set it all up at one time for the next 8 weeks and then not worry about it. Cons Getting everything set up and verified can take a little time, but if this helps with deliverability, then that's okay with me. I was able to get the answers I needed with links to pages that will further assist me. Pros it was easy for me to set up my forms, i was able to go back and edit as i decided on brand colors, etc. for someone who has never needed this type of service before it was daunting, and Mailerlite made it easier. Cons I was confused about which form to use, and couldn't find a video or tutorial that answered my questions. i ended up with chat and all was answered and resolved beautifully. March 28, 2024 1.0 Pros Nothing - the worst email management software I have ever used Cons This is the worst email management software I have ever used. We started with an annual plan in Nov 2023, within the first month we sent a large campaign separated into segments of the audience. The feature to separate the segments and NOT send to others did NOT work, even though the correct boxes were checked. This resulted in some subscribers receiving the email blast up to 3 times. Obviously, this resulted in some subscribers clicking to mark as SPAM - clearly no one wants multiple emails with the same content! MailerLite then blocked our account and said they would not re-open it nor refund ANY money. Having paid about $1500 for the annual subscription, we tried many times to explain what happened, they were not interested. The customer service department is terrible, you cannot actually get through to a person and if they respond on email they are blunt and rude and refuse to refund an annual service that was used for about 1 month and malfunctioned causing this issue. Cons Maybe the way they don't give us permission to remove a subscriber's email from their banned emails list. We have had several subscribers reach out to us as to why they don't receive our emails just to find out that their email address is on the banned list. October 2, 2021 4.0 We looked at Mailer Lite at first to handle the automated welcome email to our new members. Our business involves training in meditation. We have developed a process to solicit daily input from our members about their practice and to send automated, situation specific daily and feedback. I have been able to adapt this marketing tool to this training process. Pros The free version might have worked for my purpose, but the $10 per month was inexpensive for the chat tech support vs. the email support available for free. The $10 price should carry us well into the growth of our business before needing something more expensive. Cons I am unfamiliar with email automation to begin with, so I don't know how this compares to other products, and I am still learning how to use this, but it seems that there is room for improvement in the process of designing workflows and in storing/retrieving templates. They reported that they are working on technology to increase the speed of automated responses and repetitive processes. It provides a no-nonsense, cost-effective, and robust platform for email marketing and subscription management. It doesn't aim to offer every feature imaginable, but what it does offer, it does so solidly. The features are adequate for most scenarios, the interface is intuitive and user-friendly, and the service overall is professional. I've been most impressed with the customer service. Queries have been responded to very quickly, and the support people have been efficient, friendly and a real pleasure to deal with - which is honestly difficult to say anymore these days. I currently use MailerLite's free service to gather subscribers and manage email newsletters for my recently launched YouTube channel and website at End Time Disciple (www.endtimedisciple.com). I will gladly sign up for their paid service as soon as I reach that level. If you need a robust email marketing service, or just a simple subscription management tool, I highly recommend giving MailerLite a try.
