Truly the best support experience I've ever had. Pros The customer support at MembershipWorks is THE best I've ever experienced from any company, ever! Every team member — \[sensitive content hidden\] — knows the product inside and out. (That I know all of their names tells you how often I've called :). On the rare occasions I stump them with my questions, they find out and get back to me immediately. \[sensitive content hidden\] was my first contact with the company and also ran my onboarding session. He's super sharp and offers great out-of-the-box thinking and clever solutions, along with a dose of fun. We're usually laughing by the end of our calls. In addition to the support, the program itself is pretty easy to use, very powerful, and offers a lot of customization options which I take full advantage of. Cons My company's needs are a bit unique so some of the features don't work how I need them to, particularly when it comes to analysis, reporting and form customization. But between the customization options and the team’s expertise, I’ve been able to make the software work really well for my organization’s unique needs. Pros The customer service, hands down. They are incredible! I used to work in tech support for a software company. I've never seen such a responsive team with great personalities and a genuine eagerness to solve an issue. So rare these days. And, not just once. I have probably asked for help a dozen times. Same experience every time! They are worth far more than they are charging for this product. Cons Would love to have a spreadsheet view of members to do manual entry :) but honestly, importing and regular data entry in the form was not that bad. The answer is always yes. Renewals etc. need so little admit time, that we can focus on adding value for members and not have to worry about the system. We did have a complicated move of some members from a different instance of the system, but the team in Membershipworks were there for us. Cons I thought that this is a negative, but will explain why it ended up a Plus We often think that we want to integrate MW into some of our other systems. We go through conversations about asking for APIs, hooks etc. These are not readily available... and we find another way to do what we want... or reassess the importance that the functionality would add... But, the plus side... by not having people like us dipping in and out of the database, MW can maintain a secure and reliable system... which should be the primary need of all orgs. It is also fun for us to look for workarounds, and finding ways to improve our work, which are almost always simpler than developing a bespoke app or integration. I will add that Customer Service is some of the best I've experienced in over 50 years of my work career! If not immediately available they respond quickly. They are extremely knowledgeable about the product to immediately answer questions and make suggestions to optimize your usage of their software. This applies every step of the way from the very beginning of setup to using advanced features. Cons At first their interface to find where setup functions are located takes some getting used to but I don't think it's any different than learning any other new software. The big difference is that if you get stuck they are easily available to help. So this isn't really a "con" at all :) Reasons for choosing MembershipWorks I looked at so many other products for Membership and Event Ticketing integration over a four hour search of products and initial assessments. I found many that didn't have good integration between these functions. I found one very capable system that started at $1,000/month (2023 prices). MembershipWorks has similar extensive functionality starting at $35/month (2023 prices). How's that for value?! Amazing! Pros The customer support, even during the trial period is incredible, the support staff is the reason for my review, excellent. Cons The trial license can make it hard to get a client to actually fund a proper license, it is a great trial/proof-of-concept process. Cons Sometimes things are hard to find and I've had to reach out to support to figure it out. But they have always been extremely helpful and super quick to respond! Pros Very easy to integrate into supporting our website, as well as normal transactions for our outdoor sports oriented club. Customer Service is outstanding, with excellent and fast support when implementation issues arise or clarifications are necessary. Cons Very limited feature adjustment allowed. It is mostly a fixed system with few allowances for creative changes or adjustments in process. No direct access to the member database to perform edits. Pros It does everything that I need it to especially integrate with my website for membership directory, events, membership management and unique documentation - all managed by the member in the website behind a login while allowing me to manage the details from inside the software tool. The customer support is also personal, fast and effective. Cons Membership management is complex for us and learning all of the details of the software takes some time, but the customer support makes that an extremely minimal problem.
