The benefit to my small business has been phenomenal and I couldn't possibly go back to my old, haphazard time sheets! Being able to create instant client reports has been invaluable too. Just last month a client queried an invoice and I was able to give such a detailed summary of my hours on that account that the matter was settled immediately. Pros Paymo is easy to use in configuration, time recording and reporting. It's a great solution for scheduling and recording staff and subcontractor time. Cons Paymo is attempting to make the transition from a time recording utility to a full-blown project management tool. In this regard it has a way to go, so it's sort of caught in the middle at the moment. I've made a couple of attempts to work with the auto-time recorder, but have given up each time (but that's possibly more related to the fragmented nature of my work - your mileage may vary. The support team has been prompt in getting back to us, and so far everything seems relatively easy to get the hang of, once you dedicate some time to clicking around and screwing up and making it right. There's a few bugs here and there but nothing life-altering. It's not as straight forward as I had hoped, but it is made up with all of the functions and comprehensiveness. Pros It is very comprehensive. Allows for project tracking, time sheets, and all sorts of data collection needed all in one place. Cons It's a bit tricky to get the hang of, with all of the tabs, charts, buttons and options. There's just SO much, so really's it's like a double edged sword, because that's both 'good' for flexibility, but 'bad' because there's an extended period of trial and error. Also, plugins for desktop applications (which I have yet to explore, but are a good idea.) Cons Some invoicing feature should be added, like a summary of billed time, organized by days instead of items (I've been asked for this by clients and have to edit manually.) Also, mobile functions don't always transfer to the online account (e.g. tasks added via mobile 'might' save, but may not reflect time.) During payroll days, our Office Manager no longer has to try and track down time sheets from each team member. Pros The ease of use and flexibility of Paymo is what Cactex Media likes most. Each team member can choose how they view the projects, how they track and enter their time, what tasks are still outstanding, etc. Our accounting department likes how we can now report team members's hours by project - which makes it easier for client billing purposes. Cons We do wish Paymo would integrate with Quickbooks. June 5, 2018 4.0 Pros As a small business owner, it's important to price your work comparably. Many of us don't actually realize how long it takes to create something, or to finish a freelance job, so we undersell ourselves. Paymo allows me to track my time, and send those timesheets to the client. You can have multiple projects, which is great for me. I also use it for author conventions, to track my assistants so I can pay them within days of the event. Cons I do wish they'd bundle invoicing with the main free plan, even if that bumps it up a few dollars a month. Paymo has allowed me to stay on track and earn a lot more money, faster. Pros Very clear project breakdowns. Ability to develop quotes from project templates and task lists, progress dashboard. Cons Mobile app is non-existent, however the team have informed me it's coming in the last half of 2018 which will be fantastic. Aside from that, my least liked components are also non existent in other apps online, so really are just a product of personal project management methods such as specific project top level progress indicators. October 3, 2016 5.0 I've worked about 9 years in a company writing down my daily tasks on a sheet of paper. It was a real nightmare. For my own little company I wanted to find an affordable, flexible and reliable solution to track down the time spend on different projects. We believe that being well organised with time is a major key to success. Time is money right? I've compared online apps like Paymo for quite some time and tested quite a few as well. Paymo has really all we need and it keeps improving. In the beginning when things were a little confusing, their support was always super reactive to help me out in less than 24 hours. It is very easy to use and see the progress on each task. It has streamlined some of our processes into one place. Cons The one place we found needs improvement is the work allocation side. It seems a little labor intensive rather than a quick snapshot of milestones to not overwhelm employees with deadlines.
