The larger projects will work, but might be very challenging for non-admins to actually administer. Pros The platform is very fast and simple to use for even the most non-tech person. The ability to quickly process and review documents is very valuable and allows for quicker turn data review and productions without too many issues. Cons The searching syntax is strange, but there is lots of training to get users up to speed. At times, the product appears pretty but functionality can be rigid. August 8, 2023 5.0 Our firm's experience with Everlaw, from top to bottom, has been excellent. Pros Ease of use, one price for everything and not getting pelted with constant add-on charges. They continue to development their product always seeking to improve their software. Listening to and hearing the needs of their clients. Customer service is excellent. Reps are knowledgeable. Communication is excellent. I could go on but you should just learn for yourself. Cons still trying to find something negative... Further, Relativity is cumbersome and difficult for the average user to actually use and as such, adds yet another element of cost requiring a third party to do your searching and database management for you. While I haven't been able to use them yet (closed beta), I've seen demos and I can't wait to implement for my cases. Cons There's not much I don't like about Everlaw. I have had to use other platforms in the past and while working with other law firms, and I am always very glad that we use Everlaw. From money saved in storing client documents on a cloud versus office space to store physical documents, to charging a client less time spent because we don't have a need to photocopy productions any longer, the overall cost savings has been worth the subscription. Pros The ease of use of Everlaw is what makes it superior to any other ediscovery software we have used in the past. The customer service is exceptional - from the customer service team, the avaialbility of contacting support and the things that Everlaw has chosen to include in the subscription (i.e. number of users being free), makes it a stand alone product. Cons What I least like about Everlaw is that they are constantly updating the software, so even when I think I know how to use something, they go and make it better and I miss the release. That is really the only thing I can complain about. I can't keep up with the awesome things that make the platform better time and time again. Pros I love everlaw for discovery production! It's the best software I have used for this function. It is easy, and the final production looks seamless. Cons It is not the most intuitive program. It took hours of watching training videos and using the software for me to become comfortable with Everlaw's features, however, once I got the hang of the platform, I was able to use the Everlaw efficiently. February 17, 2023 5.0 Overall I absolutely love using Everlaw and find it to be a great tool for organizing, reviewing, redacting, searching and producing documents in the discovery process. I also love that I can upload deposition transcripts and exhibits which is useful for ease in finding key words and phrases in a transcript in trial. Pros I love how easy it is to upload and produce documents through Everlaw. I also love the various ways to search for key words and phrases in a single binder or in the entire database. The continuous updates to Everlaw have been great as well, such as being able to rotate a single page now and not all pages in a document. I also find the ability to unitize large files very useful when it comes to redacting and creating an accurate privilege log. Cons I would like to be able to delete a page in a document (such as a blank pages that are part of a file import/upload). I would also like the ability to be able to rename any and all files/matters created. Another feature I would love to see is the ability to move or copy a timeline into another matter as sometimes I have cases that have overlapping, relevant information to more than one case. Pros By far the best quality of Everlaw is that it makes doc review about as fun as it can be. The smooth interface and the depth of keyboard shortcuts in your review window make it easy to code your docs in a way that almost feels fun. Cons The biggest drawback of Everlaw is the expense. $30/GB/month is incredibly expensive for clients, particularly on bigger e-discovery cases. In fact, it's usually cost-prohibitive. It seems Everlaw would be better off lowering the pricing to increase its overall revenues, especially because the cost of storage doesn't come close to approaching $30/GB/month. December 6, 2021 5.0 Pros The Everlaw platform is extremely easy to use and has a pleasing layout. I use Everlaw almost daily for document production and trial preparation. Its binder function allows me to easily find and organize like documents, and it has very robust search functionality. You can have multiple search criteria, including codes, metadata, and content searches. You can also have proximity searches or fuzzy searches if you don't know the exact words used. Plus, Everlaw provides search results almost instantaneously. Everlaw's support staff are also very helpful and responsive. If you have a question about the system, they respond quickly and do not charge extra for their customer service. They also upload documents for you if needed. But the upload feature is likewise easy to use, so I routinely do uploads myself. Cons I wish there was the ability to share multiple binders at one time. I frequently segregate documents into binders for trial prep, and it would be nice to be able to share all of them at once with the rest of the trial team. Review Source BP Bruce P. Their responsiveness is fantastic -- far better than any other product we have used. Pros Our firm has used several similar products over the years, from the earliest electronic deposition product (the name of which I don't even remember anymore) through a series of others, typically as the one we're using seems to stop evolving or no longer fills our needs. We are very pleased with Everlaw, and one of the best things about it is that they are constantly upgrading/revising the application with new capabilities, and always actively solicit user input. They respond quickly to questions or product ideas. Cons Very little. I know that the "drafts" section is intended to be a collaborative drafting tools, but it has some limitations, particularly in relation to formatting, that limit its utility. That said, I have conveyed my thoughts to Everlaw and I understand that some upgrades on that front are in development. Reason for choosing Everlaw Ease of use, price, and overall capacity. January 5, 2022 5.0 Reviewing large scale discovery would have been impossible given our timeline and staffing. Everlaw features and support allowed us to expand our capabilities to review documents with complex searches. Pros The search functions for Everlaw allowed for us to transition from our typical style of document management to encompass a much larger scale of discovery. There is a bit of a learning curve with understanding all the different functions, but with some really helpful support, I was able to get a handle on the functions and make the software work for our team. Everlaw allowed us to scale our document management while still working within the timelines that we had to follow. Cons There are a few features that I have run into that I would appreciate being added. We also found the general features - keyword search, translation, commenting/notes, and document management/organization to be very user friendly. Cons It was sometimes confusing and difficult to switch between analytical screens and the documents themselves. Relativity is obviously the big hitter in electronic document review, but this is an agile review software clearly built to address the biggest pain points of the Relativity UI Pros Totally customizable UI, keyboard hotkeys make going through documents an absolute breeze! Customer service/support is super fast and responsive. There's also no automatic timeout of your session. Cons Search functions are kind of finicky using booleans, and the native viewer for MS office documents is very flawed. Spreadsheets often fail to open at all, and larger documents can choke the system. Also, this is hosted within the Everlaw infastructure and unlike Relativity, cannot be self hosted. February 12, 2020 5.0 I have been the administrator on multiple legacy platforms and when I transitioned to Everlaw it was freedom from cumbersome and archaic technology. The incredible cost savings, fine administrative control of the entire platform are exactly what our firm needed. Everlaw's customer service/success is excellent and partnering with them on a business level is easy. Pros Easy ti use and most of all easy to teach. Can quickly get users up to speed and reviewing documents effectively. Cons It's a little difficult transitioning users away from the legacy platforms and getting their heads wrapped around the search tool. Reason for choosing Everlaw I was brought in, from a larger firm, specifically to transition to Everlaw. Cons Some features could be expanded more....like sharing exports with other users more easily. I also don't like that certification passage requires a 100% score. That is a bit unrealistic and doesn't aid in learning, but encourages "memorizing for the test". Pros In production heavy cases Everlaw is essential. It streamlines productions, makes searching through hundreds of thousands of pages of documents easy. Has a very powerful AI engine search to help you zero in on only those important documents. The user interface is also very intuitive and easy. Cons No major cons at the moment. Cons You really have to learn the intricacies of the software and things are not necessarily intuitive. But when I had to do a big project and really get the help of customer support, I learned the software and became much more comfortable with it. I expect future projects will be much easier as a result.
