You can quickly bring your ideas to life. Like Quickbase, it has a database-based approach. Unlike Quickbase, we can create different form login screens. It offers more flexible features for creating reports, forms and graphs. Cons Because it is not model-based, it may not be suitable for your business if you have complex business rules. But other than that, it will see you more than enough for all your needs. It has been a blast creating products using this tool. Pros I love how you can develop apps using no coding at all. On top of that, if you want to customize further, you can use custom code to develop anything you want. No other tool has that flexibility. Cons There are very few cons. This Software offers many features but currently I'm using Project Management feature and I feel very comfortable with it's functionality. It also provides Application Development with it's powerful feature "NO-CODE" which allows you to create app without coding. Once set up, it is a system that my clients can manage themselves. Pros I appreciate how easy it was to set up data access restrictions. I created 4 different portals with users of each portal only allowed access to see their particular data. Everything was also easily sortable. The cascading dropdowns ensured that only dropdowns specific for that user was available. Cons I do wish there were a couple of better data reporting options with more variations within the reporting options. For example, I'd like to be able to report the data on patients using different data points. Eg. I'd like to look at the number of times my patients logged in, then with a touch of a button see how many times these same patients watched a video. Cons Sometimes response time to needed updates or changes can take a bit longer than desired, but once addressed the team is very collaborative on keeping us updated on status for updates. Pros The interface is intuitive enough that a person with no technical experience can jump in and deploy a web application on day 1. With every update, the system becomes more refined and the features are more enhanced. Cons In some regards, cost is a factor. isn’t inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. Actually, you get quite a bit more. When I look back on everything we have accomplished with Caspio, it has more than paid for itself, but it’s a consideration for smaller operations. I was promised that I could use it to develop my app, however after I paid the subscription fee they acted like the drag and drop capability was some type of secret and refused to work with my developer or myself to implement it. She took our ideas and built databases to meet our need in only minutes. Her knowledge of the product is off the charts. Every suggestion we threw at her, she was able to make happen for us. I can't recommend her enough. She is a huge asset to the team. Pros Once established the program is very easy to use. The major advantage for us over our old Access database is you can log in from anywhere. Also, Access slowed down as it accumulated data, but has kept the same processing and retrieval speed. Finally, it looks much better and is easier to navigate. Cons It can be hard to learn how to create the tables and datapages, but they do offer training to teach you how. If you know javascript, you can bake extra functionality into your forms, but even if you only know html and a little css, you'll be able to do amazing things. Pros isn't cheap, but it more than pays for itself by freeing us up from the need to have a full-time developer to build and manage custom forms and databases. In a matter of a couple of hours, I can create a fairly complex form that would have taken others days or longer to build without Caspio. Cons The interface for building the datapage (form) is tiny. It could easily be made to scale so the user could see more items without scrolling constantly. This really needs to be fixed. Reason for choosing Caspio is extremely versatile, and allows lots of interaction with the raw data, as well as the ability to string multiple forms together to build complex applications with very few headaches.
