Pros The ability it has to incorporate information from the app I was already using to collect data, filter search results, display photos, and map the locations of the billboards we are photographing. Cons In the beginning the software was a bit quirky, and the speed sometimes was slow, but these issues were ultimately resolved. We have multiple annual reports due for the first time, and between views and data pages, I have already produced 1/4 of them. Pros Excellent software and support. I was brought in to take over an extensively-developed system, to add features and update functionality, and was new to . The training videos and online help are excellent, and in just a few days I have been able to be productive. If I got stuck, I used the online chat, and they gave me links to read materials in detail, if necessary also looked at my work and fixed it, which we reviewed together so I understood how to repeat the process. Cons When searching the online help center often produces too many results. I think if you had a multi-level filter (Like Datapages, Reports, Pivot Tables, totals), this might help narrow down the info. Reason for choosing Caspio They decided on before I joined UCSF. It offers a drag-and-drop interface, database management and integration with other systems such as HubSpot and SalesForce. Data is also safe with Caspio's security. Cons The learning curve can be a bit steep at first because some of my non-IT colleagues were not able to keep up with the training due to the advanced features. Pros The software is pretty robust. Although this is 'low code', it is not 'no code'. There is some level of code writing required. When in doubt, support is always there to guide you. Caspio's simple step-through wizard quickly creates forms, reports and editable data screens in just minutes. From basic registration forms to sophisticated shared-data online cloud database processes, Caspio handles them all with ease. I first became familiar with Caspio in 1999/2000, when Caspio released their beta version. I quickly built a time-billing system for our in-field technicians which improved our company's billing-cycle by getting client invoices out faster and shortening the turn-around time for receiving payment. Since then I have designed, built and deployed well over 100 databases for non-profit organizations, government agencies and private companies. Using the Caspio application has saved thousands of dollars in setup, programming and hosting costs. One project save over $100,000. Pros The development and deployment process is quick and easy. Forms and database screens are a breeze to embed into existing websites and social media sites. But it doesn't stop there. I have also created smartphone applications and stand-alone programs. Cons Frankly, it's difficult for me to find anything about that I don't like. The product is secure, priced right and full of very cool features which I've often relied upon. They are very professional, competent, and are not afraid to engage in resolving the problem at hand. The overall Support structure is also excellent in that the transition from online help to opening a job ticket, and then on to an individual caspio expert is seamless and easy to use. Cons This is not a "con" per se. The software has a lot of functionality. As expected, it takes a little time to understand how the platform functions. The Support staff makes the learning process very easy. What's not to like? Pros provided free hosting and free development software, through their free subscription, to enable us to build a secure system to run our month-long awareness and fund-raising event. It was really easy to set up and provides enough data-entry screens/reports to build a fully-functional on-line system. We have had a couple of issues, but the Caspio team supported us professionally and promptly, just as though we were paying monthly for the software. Our users have been very complimentary of the system we have built. Cons I wish I could verify data-entry. I have two series of fields which, when totalled up, should equal each other before the user can submit the changes to the record. Reason for choosing Caspio Speed and ease of build/deployment. If I every struggle understanding how to implement a new database I know I can count on the forums and customer support for any extra help. All of that data is very hard to work with. With the system we are going to be able to store all of the data easily and be able to run reports. Pros It seems to me that the sky is the limit with this software, and that it's only limited to my own imagination. The technical support they provide is fantastic! They have a Chat session available and there is always someone there to help me. It's such a good feeling to know that I have help anytime I need it. Cons Getting used to the interface on how to build the programs. The one thing I would like to see improved is when building a datapage, it's very tedious to move datapage elements around. Was still in discussion over features and possible use when they started to bill me without consent or signature of any contract. They must be desperate for clients to fraudulently force a sale that did not happen yet. Stay away from these unscrupulous people. I am filing a fraud claim with the CA AG. We give scholarships to students while they are in college so have to keep track of them and how much money we give them over the years. We have 50 mentors entering information on different students, requesting payments to be sent as well as tracking all of our expenses, donations and donors. It's easy to update and I frequently pull data into excel to do more detailed analysis or use the pivot table capabilities. Regarding customer support - my experience has been fantastic. They called me back when they said they would, even called me at home on the weekend and worked with me for several hours on the phone to get a new project running the way I wanted it. Pros It is so feature rich. I haven’t encountered one thing it can’t do as standard. Cons The price per month. This is the most expensive of all of the low code database platforms I’ve evaluated. However the interface and functionality won me over. Once I purchased a plan and began the build in earnest, I was blown away by the level of support available 24/7. I’ve had countless chats, a zoom call and email tickets to get my database built. Each member of the support team has been a wizard and so helpful.
