Fantastic honestly. Coming from other, more complex RMMs without the same usability, and also from simpler, more user-friendly RMMs without the needed complexity, N-central has been the perfect middle of the road where you can do everything you need and easily figure out how to get it done.

Pros

Easy to use and does everything we could possibly need it to do, from remote access, patch management, scripting, maintenance, you name it. Of all the RMMs I've used as an IT person over the years, N-central has been the best mix of usability and functionality.

Cons

I honestly don't have anything to complain about with N-central!

We have used Ncentral for 17 years and find it valuable to our business. We have customised the email alerts to be informative to our technician's and have integrated with many 3rd party services allowing full visibility of issues often before the customer notices.

Pros

It is straight forward to use and makes it easy to see where issues are. Automation manager has lots of great features that allow us to customise our support and see data from other systems giving us a single pane of glass to view issues.

Cons

backups still only offer FTP as a way to store off appliance which is frustrating. It would be good if cloud storage could be used.

We have been an MSP for 6 years and during that time have found them to be a good partner. They offer business development assistance, training and a good product. Since adopting their platform we have seen a dramatic improvement in the stability of our clients environments.

Pros

Quick view of alerts across all client locations is a big time saver. Using the dashboard view and the additional on demand reports, we can speak knowledgeably with short notice about a client's assets and environment. The scheduled reports keep clients informed as well. N-Central provides quick access to client systems for the delivery or remote technical support.

Cons

I would like to see the formatting of the on demand reports improved. The data is thorough but the look of the reports is column and rows only. Would be nice to have charts included.

### "Not worth the money, consider the alternatives"

It's OK but not worth the high price tag. It is a solid RMM tool to use as the foundation of an MSP business, but as a customer for ~10 years, if I were starting fresh today I would look eslewhere.

Pros

It has a lot of nice features in the core remote management product.

Cons

It's way overpriced. As the price keeps increasing, it is getting less and less valuable as more of the functionality that used to be unique to N-Central shifts to things like Azure endpoint management, and as remote management becomes more ubiquitous. N-Able basically spends all their time trying to integrate watered-down versions of other services they've purchased into N-Central. Meanwhile, they let bugs persist for YEARS. The mobile app is unsupported. The fingerprint login for it has been broken for at least 3-4 years. Additionally, working with N-Able is a miserable experience, whether it's on the sales, provisioning, customer service, or technical support side.

The cons above notwithstanding, the service has generally been no-noise for us. It almost always provides what we need, when we need (sometimes agents go stale unexpectedly), but for the length of time we have been running this service, it has generally been worth it.

Pros

Obviously, centralising our enrolled clients assets into a single pane makes management much easier, as we can bounce from one device to another in the same tab. Being able to add in other services as/when needed adds value to the overall service as well.

Cons

Honestly, increased costs that can only be partially mitigated through long-term commitments. We understand that the under-the-hood dev and enhancements cost money to R&D, and appreciate them, but it grates at times, especially because there is no out clause with punitive penalties. If we develop a distrust for the product, we cannot break our contract without paying it out in its entirety.

overall its been a solid experience. better than other rmm solutions i've used before. has made our MSP operations for efficient in many ways.

Pros

Ease of creating filters/rules/notifications targeting certain devices Automation manager and amps make it easier to create additional functions Interface is user friendly for the most part

Cons

reporting is not great, either lacking of great detail or excessive load times device views could be better - column reordering, additions would be nice integrated take control has been absolutely terrible recently

Great stuff. Save me a lot of travel time and I can put out fires in minutes. Make for happier customers.

Pros

Reliable In the Couple years of using it, It has always be there. The only down time was scheduled. The best part is it allows me to be in multiple places at the same time. Witch allows me to setup up end to end solutions from me desk.

Cons

There is not a lot I can say bad about this product. It has so much to offer, the only thing is me not have time to explore all the features it has to offer.

### "Cove/N-Able Backup"

Great, would recommend to other MSPs. We’ve been using and enabling Cove/N-able at our business for over a year now.

Pros

I like that Cove sends backups directly to cloud storage that’s isolated and immutable by design, meaning ransomware or local failures can’t easily corrupt your backups. ￼ Cloud storage is included in the pricing, removing the need to buy and manage expensive local hardware.

Cons

That reporting lacks depth and dashboards could be more customizable or easier to navigate. UI isn’t super user friendly, but the training on it was good.

Initially great, however UI has become dated. Account manager is more focussed on selling more product, rather than ensuring you are utilising the product to it's full potential.

Pros

Relatively easy to setup. Automation manager is easy to program. Monitoring and alerting works well.

Cons

UI / Features have not evolved in the last 5 years. When E8 applied to devices, some functionality breaks Remote control and Automation Manager are external to the core product. Built in reporting not great, requires external reporting module to get decent information out.

Very positive overall. I have looked into switching systems on at least two occasions and always decided to stay with N-Central.

Pros

I like the simplicity of reviewing the security, updates, and backups for computers all from a single window. For more granular work, we have to open up another tab for security and a different one for backups but that is not a huge problem. I normally keep multiple tabs open anyway.

Cons

The scripting is my least favorite part. We have a automated repair for hard drives that fill up that works for most client systems but not for all of them which is confusing.

It was fine, using N-central was good and we could monitoring a LOT. We were able to create automations, self heals and use scripts to good use. But Patching definitely lacked.

Pros

It had a lot of options/monitoring and features so that you could monitor as much or as little as you wanted within the RMM.

Cons

The patching. It was very confusing, had a lot of filters, based on rules, based on auto approve rules. Then after all of that, and with support looking too. The patching didn't work

Extremely powerful and capable platform. Very happy with N-Central so far and they regularly provide updates, listen to feedback and have an excellent support team. N-Able success centre is very useful.

Pros

The amount of features and how it easy it to perform large, complex tasks in the backend and manage patching.

Cons

Navigation. The UI can be overwhelming and confusing. It's difficult to remember how to access certain features and tools.

Pros

Ease of access to computers remotely, shows all the detail of each computer or server.

Cons

Take control service does have issues sometimes but can be resolved by reinstalling the agents.

The experience has been great. We moved to ncentral from CW Automate, so it was a big step up for us. It's been reliable and comprehensive thus far. It has given us a lot of control and additional functions which we did not have before. Support has also been great.

Pros

It's a very comprehensive remote management tool that allows us to properly manage windows patches and gives us the ability to use automation tools such as powershell scripting and scheduling.

Cons

There is somewhat of a learning curve especially when it comes to the patch management system and the automation manager.

Limited automation using automate and the scripting had to be within the automate engine which is not powershell. Patch management was messy and we needed something more reliable. Very good does what we need it to do as an msp we are able to setup our customers for success and offer them great value add tools.

Pros

Flexibility of the products ease of use and good range of features available in the MSP toolkit. Personally I like how’s you can run scripts and upgrade without any user interaction

Cons

Sometimes pc agents drop off for no reason which can be annoying and patching dosnt work sometimes and it’s tedious to fix

It used to be great, but after the latest issues and lack of urgency, we are questioning our future with N-Central.

Pros

Gives me the basics of an MSP. Fairly user friendly.

Cons

Ever since being bought by the investment group, live support has lost us customers by lackluster response time and de-escalating tickets.

Overall very good , a bit more priority could be given to thte take control issues seeing as it is the MAJOR function that we utilize.

The ease of use , and wide array of fuctions that it can perform

Cons

Patching process needs some work , we have had several issues with customers workstation patching . Take control seems to have major issues , lots of issues where it gets installed and then does not work and requires 2 or 3 reinstallations to fix .

The user friendly interface and the quickness of initial response times when raising support cases via chat.

Cons

Sometimes with more complex issues can take a while to get resolved. Also the inability to talk via the chat once the case has been raised rather than via email.
