Progress Plus was our first MRP system and it greatly increased our Data tracking through time keeping and material stock. Pros How well the system tracks all transactions and links all aspects together when used correctly. The amount of reports that can be run throughout the system was also excellent for data capture. Cons We felt cost summary analysis and material costs at top level WO's was misleading. Pros The fact it can manage the entire business function in one place. Screens in different parts of the Programme are very similar making for an easier experience, Its also very easy to tailor for specific needs. The technical support and knowledge the team have also gives confidence. The service desk is at the end of the phone and will call back straight away rather than waiting for 24-48 hours like other software providers. The service that sets ProgressPlus head of others is the quarterly reviews, we get a chance to attend online meeting to discuss any new developments, any improvements that Progress could make to help us and plans for the future. There are always other customers on the call where we can bounce ideas around. Pros Progress Plus allows us to create, maintain and improve our operations by having a traceable system for all aspects of the business. A great example is when a customer asks for historical information or we're going through an audit. What could have taken hours to pull together is available at the click of a button. We know exactly where parts have come from, what processes they've been through and who carried out each operation. Customers are put at ease with our manufacturing software and this gives them confidence to gain more orders. Progress Plus is a game changer for us. It's not just something we use in one department – it's right across the business. Everything goes through it. For us, there is no 'other system' and there are no spreadsheets running in the background. ProgressPlus is where we go for everything. It's our single source of truth and genuinely one of the best investments we've made. Cons Only slight issue we would like to change is the ability to amend part numbers, sometimes we create a part but the Caps Lock has been on or we have incorrectly typed the number. This covers from the initial support and training provided to assist with onboarding and data migration, to the current period where a maintenance support package continues - if we encounter any issues then the technical support team are responsive and also proactive in helping to put a solution in place. The workshops that are held periodically also provide a useful insight into future plans for the software and how it can be further developed to assist users like ourselves. Pros Data capture, reporting functionality and the user interface are three of the main key aspects of the system that work extremely well for us. We have used the system for a number of years now, and although we are still developing certain areas of it, we can see substantial improvements in efficiencies re. enquiry / SO tracking, procurement, inventory management, and BOMs, and especially when compared to the manual systems we had in place previously. The system is used on a daily basis by the vast majority of our workforce, and across a number of departments, including, engineering, manufacturing (shopfloor staff) and accounts. The interface is user friendly and also integrates well with other packages we use ie SAGE and Microsoft Office. Cons Although the reporting functionality is very comprehensive, we are required at times to export reports into other formats in order to tailor them specifically to our needs. This may just be down to our preference as an individual user and may not be required across the board so it could be classed as a minor point in the grand scheme of things.
