It allows us rapid adaptions. It is absolutely reliable. It is quite easy to start and still extremely powerful. Pros It is very well thought. I am with Cognito for many years. Every new major feature they introduced was carefully crafted and integrated in the existing experience, e.g. workflow, status, users. Thanks to this kind of development, even the more sophisticated features are doable. It is very reliable. I can always trust its results, even with very complex instructions. It is very good integrated with zapier and api, it allowed us to build quite complex client applications for the fraction of the costs for a complete own development. And also, with the peace of mind that you don't have bugs in the logical handling. Your own logic may be wrong, but never ever did cognitoforms a mistake in handling the logic. I find it an extremely good value for money. Cons I am missing a real backup solution. We have automated exporting excel files in our cloud regularly. But I would prefer an integrated backup solution. Customer service is usually responsive and helpful, and I'm able to collaborate with other creative people who help me find routes to solutions if I do feel stuck. They are also very good about consistently improving and upgrading features. Pros Cognito Forms helps me find creative ways to solve a lot of problems in my organization, and to create efficiency. With a little creativity, there is really almost nothing that I can't figure out how to do. Often, Cognito is a tool I use more as a process-driver than as an intake form. It's a great conduit to bridge systems and connect information. I love prefilled fields, lookups, and linked forms. The advanced calculations are also great. Cons I have a few forms which have images people upload. If I delete the images, I'm still "charged" for storage. I have to pay a hefty premium for that storage, but I don't need the images. This is the only reason I've given 4 stars ilo 5 for the platform. Cons After building dozens of forms and onboarding more than 5,000 people, the only issue I’ve encountered was a mismatch between UTC and a user-entered date and time fed from the API. In the subsequent years, Cognito become integrated into every part of our institution due to it's easy of use for anyone coupled with the ability to do complex workflows. Pros The complex workflow abilities are our favorite part of Cognito forms. When we show other form vendors the complexities of our workflows, they admit defeat because they cannot compete with what we are already using. Cons The most common request I get is the ability to integrate with our ERP system and SMS. We would love to be able to pull names and users with that type of integration. Data handling is very efficient. I have used Cognito as a customer contact form for our website, as well as entry forms for various Chess related tournaments. The security is excellent, since there is no e-mail that can be intercepted and bank details changed, for example. The forms can be printed and stored securely. Cons I wouldn’t necessarily call this a con, and I don’t consider myself an expert in Cognito form building, but I do think very novice users may find the learning curve a bit steep. I cannot remember the last time I worked with such positive, dedicated solutions staff. Not only are they always available to answer any question, from billing to "how do I do this with the tools available", but they seem genuinely happy to help solve the puzzle that is your latest requirement, providing not only an example in your instance, but an explanation of how it was done. Or, if they cannot for whatever reason, they are happy to log an issue for a future feature for their team to develop. Pros Cognito unifies and simplifies our processes, providing tools that are accessible to an average user, but powerful enough to satisfy any of our needs. As a University, we have hundreds of forms, capturing everything from food allergies to personal grievances, to exam deferrals and Cognito has had a solution for all of them. Cons Some common workflows still require complex several-step processes that should be simplified, such as approvals or guest roles. While there are workarounds, these are not as easy for average users to set up. Consolidating these functionalities into discrete, simplified pieces would make a huge improvement. Additionally, Cognito does not support some of the larger enterprise requirements, such as role based access control syncing with our identity management software; this means we have to manually maintain hundreds of users and try to keep this synced - a pain point that regrettably grows the more we use the platform. I'm able to create custom unit configurations with full validation and smart show/hide logic easily, save it to a database that I can easily reference at any time, and I'm emailed Word DOCs that I'm able to capture and organize seamlessly. Cons If there is one thing I'm DYING for them to add is an easy entry duplicate feature. Right now, I'm able to do so by filtering my list by the entry number, exporting out the data, then reimporting the data I just exported as a new entry. It takes way too many steps for what I would only assume wouldn't be too difficult of an option to add once an entry row is selected, from the Actions button (where right now I start the download dance from). Pros The most valuable aspect of Cognito Forms is the ability to use logic to open and close questions or sections based on answers. As long as you understand basic form builders, Cognito is intuitive to use. Cons I'd like to be able to view multiple answers to a specific question.
