Web Developer Internet Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "mooSocial Review" February 22, 2024 5.0 I have been using mooSocial for some time now also along with their mooDating alternative which itself is based on mooSocial. I've tried other social community scripts but this one has many features that the others don't have and it's very affordable with very reasonably priced plugin addons to add new features and flexibility. The software is fully responsive although you can purchase the mobile apps at a reasonable price if you wish and are excellent. The support team are really helpful and prompt, when I first installed mooSocial on my site I found a couple of bugs but they where soon rectified and included in the next updates. They also have a very good community for help, tips and support and many tutorials if you happen to get stuck. Overall I am very happy with mooSocial and would recommend it to anyone wishing to start up their own social community. Excellent! :) Pros Great flexibility and all of the addons are made by mooSocial whereas a lot of other software alternatives only offer 3rd party plugins which through experience I found very buggy! Pros Super easy to setup. Support team really helpful and understanding. Even able to do customisations requested. In comparison to having to do everything from scratch this definitely gives one a head start. Cons I am using the upgraded version of the tool, so there is still some functionality being built up and expanded upon which is a bit concerning. I had a chat with someone and sorted out what I needed and paid in pretty much 1 day. I usually got help in a day. The software didnt freeze, it all worked and I just had to custom it. It took me 2 years to get questions out of other providers even for my host so it was really nice to have all the yes I can help and here are the options we have in 1-2 days for a change. Pros Its easy to use, it does all the things I need and more! Cons I couldn't change basic things myself like some fields or features we automatically required and needed customizing. Or I couldnt give messages permissions to 1 or 2 profiles types myself but I could permissions to all profile types/users. Cons Chat server installation and integration is difficult, and often unstable. You'll get nickle-and-dimed for various plugins, and also licenses and service fees, especially if you purchase the mobile apps. Support is awful. Nine times out of ten they can. I have notice with many other script companies don't have the customer support service we all need. Have needed them to write a few extra pieces of code from time to time and they are always happy to help. Some code I have had to pay fore but it has been a quick turn around and value for money. If you have not decided yet if to buy from these guys @ mooSocial; then take a look around the community forum and ask a few questions. February 13, 2020 5.0 When you are looking for a top of the line social networking platform you need look no further than moosocial. I spent 3 years researching what was available. At the end of the day I always found myself back on the moosocial site. In terms of form and functionality it is unmatched. With dozens of optional plug-ins offering many unique featurs often never seen on other platform, you can easily customize your site to just how you imagined while providing a unique and enjoyable experience for your members that will keep them coming back. Support, being new and not familiar with how PHP and dealing with a server, how to install the software on the server was the only reason I had not purchased Moosocial much sooner. But after having our site/community hosted on 3 other companies that cbarged a monthly fee to use their software that they hosted on a server that you shared with hundreds of other sites it became apparent that this wasn't the way to go and that we were just paying more for something that didn't even come close to what COULD be had for much less. Moo's tech support helped me decide on a hosting solution (Hostico) that was both very reasonable and provided us/our members with a much faster and stream lined experience. The difference was like night and day. if I had any questions they were more than willing to help. We have watched our member base increase 10 fold in only a short amount of time not only by word of mouth of our our members but by the numerous Pros The endless possibilities Moosocial provides makes our site an ever growing entity that let's us give our members new and unique features on a regular basis which keeps the site new and up to date and gives our members new ways to involve themselves in the site and encourages new and older members alike to get involved and in doing so helping us grow! Pros The fact that it sets up very easily, but can encounter some problems with the PHP Version on a host. Cons NO 24/7 or weekend tech support and it sometimes takes days to get support due to them being in Vietnam and myself in the USA. Plus, the fee for support is rather expensive when all you have is one issue you need an answer to. Support is $49 per month, no exception.
