As a property management system, Rentals United generally delivers a solid experience. The tool is reliable in daily use and the functionality provided is sound. Channel synchronization works properly, which is essential for preventing double bookings. The biggest drawback is the dated and cluttered interface that makes working with the system more time-consuming than necessary. Despite these usability challenges, the software does what it needs to do and the core functionality is solid. For professional use it's an acceptable solution, but there is certainly room for improvement in terms of user experience and modern interface design.

Pros

The tool does exactly what it needs to do and works reliably in daily operations. Integration with various booking platforms runs smoothly, which significantly simplifies reservation management. Channel synchronization works dependably, effectively preventing double bookings. The core functionality is solid and delivers the essential features you need for professional channel management (icw Guesty).

Cons

The interface is unnecessarily complex and cluttered, making data entry cumbersome. Navigation through the system requires more clicks than necessary and it often takes longer to find specific information. The dashboard can be confusing for new users and the learning curve is steeper than you would expect from a modern SaaS solution. A more modern, intuitive user interface would significantly improve the workflow.

They cost me tens of thousands in double bookings and did not pay any of the fees. They admitted to it being their fault in writing, but did not pay for the costs or time it cost us.

As a revenue manager working for a property management company in Barcelona (with 100's of units), I could not be happier with Rentals United. They keep on meeting our needs and their CS representatives (mainly \[sensitive content hidden\]) excel in their duties with such kindness. 10/10!!

Complete waste of time!

Pros

The purpose I used Rentals United was to connect with Google Rentals and plenty other Otas, Renatals united connect with.Complete loss of money and waste of timeOut of 12 reservations I got through rentals united in 6 months only 1 really showed up.

Cons

Complete waste of money and completed waste of time.The OTAs I connected with through Rentals United dont seem to screen guests reservations.in 6 months of use I only had 12 reservations and 11 cancellations!I had my calendar dates blocked by guests that never paid and eventually were cancelled by my team or by them selves.I lost money due to blocked dates by bogus guests

Hi Zohar, We are sorry to hear you have had a negative experience with our platform. Our Customer Success team has been in contact with you for the past weeks, offering meetings in order to resolve pending issues and to optimise your account. We are happy that the pending issues now have been resolved. You are using Rentals United in combination with your PMS which has direct connections to the big OTAs. Rentals United offers additional connections to other sales channels, from which you have received several reservations.   With regards to these reservations, some guests have cancelled their reservation and received a refund according to your cancellation policy. Guests, unfortunately, sometimes need to cancel their accommodation. We recommend reviewing if the cancellation policies you currently work with, are still a good fit for your business.    While it is correct that we usually see a 25% increase in reservations, it is important to keep in mind this includes reservations from the biggest OTAs. These are connections that you are not using with your PMS, not with Rentals United and therefore you probably have not seen this mentioned increase. We do apologise for the confusion in this matter.  If you have additional questions about this, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We did a 2 month test with connection with bookingsync for multi units. Complete disaster, wrong prices calendars show booked guests couldn’t book for certain days, wrong accountings connections. And sending us bills for months after we cancelled our agreement. Send 10 emails to accounting - zero response We lost largest Clint with 16,000 apartments and preparing for a lawsuit

Rentals United helps is bridge the gaps in using large-scale partners and OTAs as a small-to-medium size company. We couldn't do what we currently do without a channel manager and we feel RU is the best option at the best price, and the support is fantastic.

Pros

It makes your life so much better, when pricing and availability can be managed second to second, through a connected PMS.

Cons

Of course there are issues from time to time. To counter this as a con, however, the support is wonderful and always there.

We continue to use Rentals United because of our existing integration and a sort of "better the devil you know" outlook. However the many, constant issues we have with the service and support are close to pushing us over the edge to find an alternative.

Pros

There's really not much positive to say about Rentals United. They do allow us to list our rentals on a variety of channels (VRBO, Booking.com, Expedia) but their product is barely usable in a variety of ways. Really the onl

Cons

Our main interactions with Rentals United are via their API. Our in house PMS software connects to RU and pulls in reservation information, syncs calendars, pricing, taxes, etc. Rentals United API is antiquated (XML only) and barely functional. The endpoints frequently change with no prior warning, and you can tell they have no QA because we'll see that the change was some misspelling of an existing attribute that caused our integration to stop working. We have to depend on a "comments" section in each reservation to pull in vital financial information like how much the guest paid in cleaning and taxes. This information is frequently omitted and RU support just throws up their hands and claims ignorance as to why its not provided. Almost every interaction with support is drawn out and doesn't lead to any positive outcome.

Please note that your RU Key Account Manager has been trying to contact your team for the past months but has not had any response. These regular meetings between our teams are crucial, as this is our opportunity to communicate any API updates ahead of time and address any concerns you are faced with in an efficient and timely manner.  Our API team has confirmed that our endpoints have not been modified for the last 5 years. Additionally, we have extensively reviewed the requests submitted to our support team and we can confirm that back in August 2021, a more efficient way to extract the fees and taxes was offered as an alternative to using the "comments section".
