VBO Tickets Reviews
Pros
The ease of use for both administrators and ticket buyers is very helpful, and they have a very robust reporting system.
We are absolutely enjoying VBO. This is my 3rd software since becoming a Ticket Office manager, and this is by far the best software I've had the pleasure of using.
Affordable and able to take on small or large jobs, it's my go to ticketing solution for their technically advanced product, user friendliness, and brilliant customer support.
The team at VBO is responsive and great, the software is excellent on the user end, and getting better on the back end (reports and all) Tons of potential here and some excellent innovation.
Cons
Usually the complaint is that they don’t know how to scroll down to put the tickets in the cart. That has literally been the only complaint and it happened about 10 times.
Setting up one-off shows and shows that run continuously is much more of a burden to maintain.
I've asked for added features and the turn around is typically less than a week. I know I'm not asking for anything crazy, but I have trouble even responding to an email that fast.
Most problems have been completely dealt with within the hour.
"Great for traditional theaters, not versatile enough for ad-hoc performances"
Overall: The system is reliable and solid in what it does. Support does their best to help you find workarounds for non-traditional theaters, but are unwilling to consider enhancement requests without paying for the development. My one actual technical issue (notifications of credit card failure self-dismissed to quickly for the user to read) has been pretty much ignored. I recommended VBO for my local community theater, even with all of that because it does work well for that model. It absolutely is a bear for the rest of us (I run an improv theater).
Pros: The interface is generally easy to navigate and figure out on your own. There are so many useful features, it can feel a bit cluttered, but once one learns the process, it handles every aspect of selling. The API is nice for embedding on your own site.
Cons: The entire process — from setup to event management to the API — is centered around multiple performances of one run (show), as per a traditional theater. Setting up one-off shows and shows that run continuously is much more of a burden to maintain. Ad-hoc shows, especially, require that you set up a completely new event, including reminder emails, ticket setup, etc. even if that info doesn't change from show to show. Copying events does not copy all the pertinent information, such as event images. Setting up event dates under one event for ad-hoc shows is cumbersome because the API and the dashboard group them all together.

""The Most Powerful, Customizable Ticketing Platform" doesn't begin to cover it..."
Overall: We looked at moving to VBO several years ago but held back due to some features that we felt were missing. In the two years we were with another platform, almost every feature we said was missing had been implemented. VBO seems to truly care about their client's experience, hardships, and feedback regarding the platform. The support team and sales teams are transparent about capabilities and timelines for resolution of the minor issues that we've come accross. The platform has exceeded all expectations. Are there some minor "hmm... that's confusing" moments? Yes... but they listen to your thoughts and rapidly implement fixes. If you're looking at VBO, I promise you they are worth giving more thought than I did the first time around.
Pros: The sales, support, and development teams have been extremely transparent, understanding of pain points, and quick to implement fixes. They value client feedback and are willing to put in the work to make the product work how you'd expect it to. The product ticks almost every box. The features you and your patrons rely on and expect are all there. We've had great feedback regarding the ease of use from patrons.
Cons: The only cons I have are back-end/administrative side only. There are some extremely minor UI issues like text and formatting, help tips that aren't always helpful, and support documents that could use some re-doing (they currently rely heavily on video vs. text). The event builder experience takes some trial and error to find the right settings, but only because the platform is extremely customizable. It seems like options and settings aren't always where you expect them to be, likely because they've been added over time. There isn't a true "mobile-friendly" view of the back-end admin interface, and branding capabilities are limited (not as "white-label" as advertised). There is also no option for administrative users to sign in with organization SSO, despite being advertised as a feature in multiple places, and the SSO integration for end users has some limitations.
"They need to provide a manual"
Overall: Customer service was excellent and always available and very much appreciated by me, a not so tech savvy person. But, the website feature access is not intuitive and requires a lot of instruction as to why one should click that to get that report. Other than calling in there are no on-site instructions on how to do specific things. I would use the company again but will need a manual.

"Effective Automatic scheduling with great mobile interface"
Overall: Great product with exceptional outcomes.
Pros: Efrective automatic scheduling saves lot of time and effort with a very user friendly interface
Cons: Lag in output at times which result in restarting the app all over again
"VBO Tickets and St. Norbert College"
Overall: VBO Tickets is the Swiss army knife of ticketing platforms. Its exceptional versatility perfectly aligns with our diverse needs across campus and within our community, making it an indispensable asset for St. Norbert College. It's clear they focus on being a customer-first company over a product-first company.
Pros: As the Box Office Manager for St. Norbert College in Wisconsin, I can attest to the indispensable role that VBO Tickets plays in our operations. Over the past 8 years, it has proven to be an invaluable tool for managing ticketing and registration events, both on our campus and within the broader community. We rely on VBO Tickets for a diverse range of events, spanning from alumni gatherings and athletic competitions to visual and performing arts events, camps, and student activities. Its robust features, such as registrations, season tickets, and event ticketing, enable us to maintain a centralized box office while granting departmental access across campus as needed. This has greatly enhanced transparency and communication among our internal stakeholders, leading to newfound efficiencies that have revolutionized our operations. In addition to serving our college community, we leverage our campus resources to offer rental opportunities to non-profit and for-profit organizations in the community. We utilize VBO Tickets to extend the same level of transparency and service to approximately 70 rental events each year, alongside our college-affiliated functions. Our renters particularly appreciate the Event Manager Portal, which grants them access to sales and customer data for their events whenever they need it.
Cons: I've worked with multiple ticketing softwares so it's pretty easy for me to pick up a new one. We also use almost every feature in the system. With the number of features available, I could see how smaller organizations could be overwhelmed by the size of the platform.
