### "Great functions and integrations, but a smidgen 'clunky'"

Overall it is great practice management software, I just think some of the functions are clunky (for lack of a better word).

Pros

Integrations with Gmail and WealthCounsel have been absolutely critical and it is so easy to send a client an electronic invoice/receive an online payment. I also really enjoy the workflow function - this is amazing for task tracking and automatically tracking deadlines. Another great feature is the Activity Dashboard that keeps you on track with daily activities.

Cons

It takes a bit to fully immerse yourself in this software and utilize all functions. The template function is a LOT but once you do it a few times you can figure out the ins and outs.

Too many to list. From accounting, billing, calendar integration, etc. The program has been fantastic for my law firm.

Pros

Prior to PracticePanther, I used three pieces of locally-downloaded software one for billing, one for client management, and another for form creation. PracticePanther has provided the firm with a cloud-based solution that has replaced all three pieces of software. Additionally, because it is cloud-based, the firm can utilize the software on a number of platforms and in any location in fact, I am using it right now on my iPad at a coffee shop, after entering billable time on my Android phone earlier in the day. In addition, PracticePanther's client portal has been a game changer. While I have not yet fully utilized the email replacement offered by the portal (baby steps), it has helped immensely with billing and in giving clients a great image of the firm. I have received a number of compliments on the portal it makes sending bills easy, paying bills easy, and working with clients a breeze.

Cons

I do wish PracticePanther had a more robust document preparation and CRM platform (like Lexicata). I am sure PP is working on integrating other providers into its software, and the pros FAR outweigh the cons.

### "PracticePanther has helped keep my firm organized and grow"

Pros

PracticePanther has helped keep my firm organized. We handle a large number of cases and we needed software that could help us manage them all, stay on top of tasks, and store information efficiently. PracticePanther has also been key in allowing for rapid growth in my practice. My favorite feature is the payment plans through PantherPayments. My collections are significantly higher than some of my colleagues and it helped simplify this process. We can easily set up payment plans that automatically pull funds from a credit card or bank account which means I don't have to spend a ton of time chasing clients for money that I could be spending on their case.

Cons

I started out practicing solo and quickly grew to more staff. Every firm has growing pains, so I was initially worried about acclimating new staff to PracticePanther. Thankfully, those hesitations were put at bay and we've been able to use the platform with ease.

### "Practice Panther not for me"

Wanted to like Practice Panther but can't justify continuing with the product.

Pros

The only real positive is being cloud based, the information is the same on all of my devices.

Cons

It is a frustrating software to use. Too many steps to enter simple information such as time. Reports are not accurate or helpful. Invoices are messy and difficult to understand for clients. The App is just a small version of the website and not easy to use.

It is okay. It is good for billing. If they don't improve their customer service or keep up with competitors we may leave. Having the relationship with law pay is essential if they end that relationship we will leave

Pros

Billing is easy to complete with PP. It sometimes syncs with QB (when it doesn't it causes major issues)

Cons

The customer service is horrible and has gotten progressively worse over the years. It seems like when the company changed ownership there was no money put into development to make the system better and it is constantly getting beat by competitors. The customer service is almost non existent and there seems to be constant turnover.

### "Fantastic Case Management Tool"

I use Panther to manage all of my legal cases, deadlines, calendar, client information, expenses, time entries. I would like to integrate some other features, such as accepting payment, but I'll get to that in time. I know it's there.

Pros

There are too many to list. On the top - great customer service. I'll say that again - great customer service! Ability to have Panther open in two or more screens to perform various tasks at the same time. Ease of use. Being able to create work flows. Customizable (not sure if that's a word, but it is true.) Multiple time entry screen. Being able to export time and expense entries into an Excel spreadsheet. Mobile app for on the go. Tasks and deadline reminders to my cell phone. Oh - and a great price! Plus the Practice Panther team is always updating and improving the software. Tutorials? Super helpful.

Cons

Probably the most annoying thing is that when I come in to work the dashboard is not updated to reflect the new day. I have to refresh. There are a few fields that don't let me edit them (because I messed them up and now want to clean them up). Um.... maybe when I lose my time entries because the computer goes down, but I'm not sure I attribute that to Panther. Perhaps an auto save in the background?

Pros

All of PracticePanther's features are great, PantherPayments and integration with GSuite are by far my favorite. The software is easy to use, there are tons of training videos available, and if that's not enough tech assistance is just a quick chat away. Using this software has helped get my law firm off the ground and running, one of the greatest investments I've made so far.

Cons

I would like some improvement on the templates feature. I wish we could add template docs directly from Google Drive rather than download a docx file and upload.

Overall, my experience was quite positive. The company has great customer support, which makes using the product that much better. The reason I switched to another product was due to the evolving needs of my firm. I think if you are looking for an easy-to-use product that works without a lot of training, and is a one-size-fits-all kind of solution, you cannot go wrong with this product.

Pros

Practice Panther has two features I really like. First, the design of the software makes it easy to work with. Second, it comes ready to use "out of the box," with very little learning curve required.

Cons

Practice Panther is for generalists, in my opinion. If you are an estate planner, you can use it. Family law, no problem. Real estate law, you can't go wrong. However, if you want specialized features unique to a particular practice area, then Practice Panther is probably not going to suit your needs. I switched from it because I needed software that was tailored specifically to personal injury.

Having tried different types of practice management software and billing systems, finding PracticePanther changed this skeptical old dog by teaching her new tricks to make life easier and assure time gets captured and billed and contacts are at your fingertips. PracticePanther works seamlessly across all platforms, desktop, laptop, iPhone, iPad so you never have to be without the tools to have your law firm with you when you need to have the information. Easier to use than most software of similar types.

### "Why did I wait so long?"

Until we found PP, we were posting our files in OneDrive and having to search for things that we should not need to. Quickbooks is inadequate for billing legal-type work and there was no way to run any kind of conflict check without making a spreadsheet and manually adding new clients and inquiries. Now, all we do is put everything in PP. There we can see the progress of our cases, billing, calendars, tasks assignments, project plans and do conflict checks based on more than just the case caption or attorneys. Each case has tag options for identifying the type of work we are doing or any other significant aspect of the case and we can use that also for finding things within the matter or inside our entire database. What's more, it works with OneDrive, so all of our documents are accessible within the program. This is just what we needed and more...

Pros

As a small practice, I needed to organize and implement an office management system that I could use if my assistant was not here. This software is the most intuitive, responsive and useful that I have tried...and I have test driven four of the top recommended products. I have everything I need in one package; whereas, other companies require additional packages to connect to email and form templates. The learning curve has been very small. Both of us here have not had any training yet and are up and running (for the most part) after only a week or so. Now we will be taking advantage of the great training videos and one-on-one training to hone our skills and use it to its fullest extent.

Cons

So far, our experience has only been positive. Graphics are simple and somewhat old-fashioned, BUT they work great for finding things...that's what counts.

Easy to learn. Easy access to tutorials and the help area is full of information. It has been a great decision to switch. I know that i have been able to capture more of my time and reduce time needed for billing.

Pros

I like being able to bill, take credit/debit card payments, and tell clients their balance with the app while in court. There are simple reports and a great dashboard to see how much is outstanding, to be billed, and the amount in my trust account. Practice panther has cut down on the time it takes for billing and made my office more efficient.

Cons

I print checks directly from practice panther, which takes several steps, but it makes it easy to add the cost to the client's billing. I would like the software to allow a report of vendors/payees' payments over various time periods as it does with tags and categories.

It was so easy to retrieve client information and edit it. Invoicing was a dream. Loved the online pay option.

I could not batch invoice. This was a real pain as I sent out hundreds of invoices.

I was using Excel and basic Microsoft programs (despite being Mac-based) prior to switching over to PracticePanther. I had looked into other programs and the reason I chose Practice Panther was the communication with PracticePanther's representatives, their patience as I picked a software to use, and then their training that was available. I loved that there wasn't the salesy pitch or putting down other companies, and their continued communication and support over the years has kept me as a loyal customer that is happy to talk about my experience with any other lawyers that ask me for my opinion.

Pros

I have been with PracticePanther for a long time. I knew that I needed billing software as I grew the first iteration of my practice, and came across PracticePanther. For me, the billing aspect was the selling point. The ability for clients to pay their invoices with PantherPayments - this feature has decreased my ongoing A/R, and frees up the time and energy it takes to run credit cards.

Cons

PracticePanther has been very receptive to any tweaks or feature suggestions I've had.

I regret that I ever heard of them. I am very disappointed that they stole an extra year of service from my credit card and refused to refund it when I requested termination of services. This makes Clio look all that much better.

Pros

It worked well, and allowed relatively easy billing and access to client payment history, but it cost more than Clio.

Cons

When I decided to switch to Clio due to the cost difference, I could not leave. They took the money from my credit card and would not refund it. Practice Panther's alias is Hotel California. You can check out but you can never leave. My advice is don't check in.

Panther payments- seems to be a bit of a scam. They keep fees on money you immediately refund to clients.

Lo que mas me gusta del programa son la cantidad de funciones que ofrece, como pagos en linea con multitud de opciones, flujos de trabajo automatizados que te ahorran un monton de tiempo, copias de seguridad a tiempo real de todos los datos, seguimiento del tiempo facturable desde cualquier dispositivo y por supuesto tener todas tus finanzas controladas para evitarte mas de un susto....aplicacion muy completa

La unica desventaja que veo podria ser el precio... El plan mas basico se queda demasiado corto para cualquiera que necesite de este programa, y si optas por el plan intermedio y tu o tu empresa no manejais un flujo de datos demasiado grande, pagareis por demas, tanto como 80 euros al mes.Bien es cierto, que no he encontrado muchos programas con tal nivel de funcionalidad.

### "Great, comprehensive law office management program"

We transferred over from another database program in a period of a month or two. All our contact information was integrated in from the other system, as were our case matters and billing information. At first we bemoaned the loss of our old cumbersome system that we'd gotten to know so well over 20 years, but within a few weeks our outlook brightened up and within a little over a month, literally everyone in the office was so happy that we had made the changed. Now after a year or two, we couldn't be happier. AND, the customer service is really good, they call you back asap and always have answers. I'm sure we won't be changing this database program ever.

Pros

This is a really easy to use program, that covers everything from client information, billing, document management, time tracking, and reports that are actually used a lot and simple to both run and understand. It comprehensively runs our entire office and makes our jobs A LOT easier. Plus, it's accessible from any phone, tablet or computer wherever you are.

Cons

E-mails pose a little difficulty in responding back and forth, because you have to start a new e-mail each time, although it may be because we don't have ours set up right. But it's still workable, and when they are saved into the program, it's as clean and easy to use as the rest of the program.

Pros

It is an easy to use software that makes client management and billing easier. I like the simplistic design/look of it and ease of use. It is very intuitive and there are multiple ways to go about accomplishing any task.

I don't really have any "cons" to list. I really can't think of any.

### "Great Product!"

I recently switched to PracticePanther after 20 years using different version of Amicus Attorney. While Amicus helped me to keep my practice moving for years, the lack of continuing support for the product and meaningful changes caused me to start looking at alternatives. After researching the current crop of practice management programs and downloading several demo's, I ended subscribing to the PracticePanther team. The first reason I chose PP was the fact that I was able to create "workflows" that automate a ton of the tasks required for several practices areas. For example, a new misdemeanor criminal case can have the misdemeanor workflow that I created applied and all of the steps for the cases are automatically generated. The scheduling of the first client meeting, initial hearing, filing of our appearance, requesting discovery, sending discovery, attending the pretrial conference, plea meeting with client and change of plea hearing all become tasks or calendar events with just the touch of a button. My assistant then just needs to coordinate the dates for all of the auto-generated tasks or events in order to have the file completely organized. The workflow also assigns the responsibility for completion of tasks automatically to me or my staff so we all are reminded of what needs to take place next. The second selling feature for me was the automated email and text-message reminders that can be generated to the client (and to staff if desired). I like that I receive a text reminder from my dentist's office and wanted something similar. For all events that I create within the workflow, I can assign the reminder details. This has significantly lowered the number of no-shows that I have for office meetings and court hearings and reduces the staff time that was spent before calling to remind clients of court dates and meetings. The third key feature that I really wanted was the secure client portal feature. The portal allows me to hand incoming clients an Ipad to have them fill out their intake information that we would need to create a new client file. Once the client has completed the information on the Ipad, it automatically creates a new contact within the PP system and we can then easily generate a new matter if we are hired. For clients that we choose to work with, they are also sent an email invitation to open their secure portal, thus allowing them access to their online file within the PP system. Clients love it.

Pros

Great tools, great automation, great customer support

Cons

There are continuing areas that we could further automate to make the product even more amazing.

Pros

I love how easy it is to use. I love that customer service is very fast and helps with any problems that we have. We use the billing/invoices, notes and document storage the most in our practice. This helps to keep us all on track and up to date.

Cons

There is very few things I do not like about this software. One of the main things if you want to switch between matters then you have to go back to the client profile and then into matters again before switching to a new one. It is time consuming as you have to wait for it to load.

Overall it has been a pleasant experience. Reminders on the Calendar are a bit odd sometimes, but it is fine.

Pros

Tracking time is basically the most that I use it for and the calendar. I do like being able to enter notes in one place where all employees can access to review.

Cons

Not being able to have draft entries, so if you enter a timeslip, you have to save it right then. I'm usually doing multiple tasks at once so I like to have many entries open with the description, I don't always want to save it at that very moment.

### "Does not respond and is not refunding payment"

POOR! When I first signed up for them, they were great. You could get a person on the phone (which I am paying for) or a response within a few minutes. No Longer! They do not respond at all!!! I changed my subscription to monthly from annual. Yet they took the annual payment and they are not refunding it. They claimed first that they would refund it immediately and bill me monthly. Then they said they are applying the amount each month to the monthly bill. It costs more monthly so why are they keeping my money for annual and billing me monthly? Then they asked me for the plan i was on and the plan i am not on. I gave that info to them over a week ago. No response. You cannot get anyone on the phone. And they do not respond to support.

Pros

At this point, nothing. They are not responding via telephone nor their support online

Cons

My header changed and no state or zip code now appears. I did nothing to change it.

### "Everything in One Place"

Excellent. And when I want to learn more, customer support is top notch. Really top notch.

Pros

We worked with and reviewed many business management apps over the last five years. Was resigned to needing 5-6 apps to do everything until we found practice panther. You still leave to go to Quick Books, but that's OK.

Cons

I haven't yet gotten into all the features. But I would like to change font, color, and appearance just a little. but this is small thing.
