Technical Support and Correction of Problems - Discovered a serious problem with the partial payment of invoices that does not allow a Client to make a partial payment to an invoice. Through chat session tech confirmed issue and then determined that it is a system wide issue and not just our firms problem.

It's been really easy and great.

Pros

My staff and I love practice panther and use it daily. We currently only use a portion of what it can do but it's what we need right now. We love that as we grow, we can use automation and additional features.

Cons

For a new firm with 1-3 employees, the price was higher than we wished and the credit card fees - although competitive to other companies - is a negative for this product.

Our firm uses this software and there isn't a single user who hasn't begged our boss to dump this crap and go somewhere else.

Pros

There is absolutely nothing about this platform that I like. Simple features like searching the calendar aren't intuitive and barely work. When you contact the support with issues you get the standard refrain: We don't have that problem when we use the software.

Cons

This program was launched long before it was ever ready for primetime. Simple features like searching the calendar are things they're "working on." This software is buggy, requires the user to frequently log in-and-out, shutting down browsers, restarting etc. Absolute garbage.

Hello! I submitted a question to the DM feature on PP on April 28, 2020 to inquire why my plugin feature for Outlook and PP was not working. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] promptly responded and informed me that it was a global issue that was being worked on. Honestly, I had forgotten I asked him this question at all, but here we are two months later and today I saw a new unprompted message from him to say that it had been fixed! His follow up and kind and prompt responses have made me really grateful for PP customer service and dedication to our firm. And his follow up will certainly make my job easier. Can't say thank you enough and I really do appreciate his dedication. I've always appreciated how PP makes my job easier, but this follow up really makes me feel like PP is more than a software and that I can always ask questions! Computer version is easy to use and logical in the layout.

Cons

On the mobile app, if your screen rotates it refresh the app to the home screen. The time clock stalls ALL the time. Money is very difficult to move. I had client put money in operating instead of trust and there was no way to move it back. It also does not seem to contemplate that clients could have multiple case or multiple people paying for one case.

Awesome - real increase in productivity, reduction in costs and excellent overall ease of use for firm and clients.

Pros

My firm used PCLaw for nearly 20 years and grew so exasperated with it that we began searching for something new. I contacted several companies to explore software options. From my first contact with Practice Panther, they were far superior to every other company and its software is, too. The web-based platform makes for easy use away from the office and on mobile devices. It's so user friendly that no one required any training. The client portal allows clients to track their invoices and payments, which eliminates lots of wasted time on the customer service end of things. Can't say enough good things!

Cons

The only knock is some of the terminology doesn't make sense. All receipts are called "retainers" and write downs are called "credit notes" and display like payments. The integration with Quickbooks is good, but it is not an accounting software package so some of the reports are a little light with information. That said, I relay my concerns to Practice Panther support and they work on solutions.

Overall our experience has been fabulous. Once the relatively short initial learning curve was over, we were off to the practice of law, occasionally delving back into Panther to learn and apply features that we many times didn't even know were there.

Pros

Value and QuickBooks Online integration. Support. I've been exposed to and used a variety of back and front office law firm applications over 30+ years in the profession. Until I stepped out on into my own small firm, I never had a hand in selecting those applications. Now I have and I could not be more pleased with the breadth of features at a cost far less than other less capable applications.

Cons

Not many dislikes if any; just nits here and there to fit my persnickety desires (such as layout of some screens).

It's very - ehhh. I don't regret getting rid of our old timekeeping software, but I regret going with Practice Panther due to the lack of any real solutions from Practice Panther. I don't know if they really have an IT department to fix any problem that is presented them. I have serious concerns that they don't know how to fix the bugs in their own system.

Pros

I like the set up and font size of Practice Panther. Once you get use to the functionality, it is easy to operate and understand.

Cons

The customer service does not follow-up with any real responses other than "we are working on it". It has taken months of no real response to a very simple issue. I would say the inability or lack of IT people that can fix the bugs that exist in program would make me reconsider whether the investment in Practice Panther is worth it.

Pros

Everything is arranged logically in the software, making it very easy to use. In addition, they are constantly making improvements and adding features.

Cons

The trust accounting has greatly improved, but still leaves a bit to be desired. The only other complaint I have is that while we can add multiple time entires (up to ten), there's no way to start a timer on the lines on that screen (although I haven't suggested that yet), and if I log in from my phone or another computer before saving that list, I lose the information on the screen.

I continue to be very impressed and happy with the software. They are constantly updating it with new useful features.

Pros

What I like most about this software is its ease of use and help videos. It has a full range of features such as time recording and invoicing, receipting and payment system, contact and client matters, templates and automation, calendar with tasks and events and much more. You can sync your contacts and files with google or box etc It is very easy to deploy and adding users is very simple.

Cons

There are always some improvements that can help with any software. I would like to see an update to the template tool allowing pdf templates rather than just docx.

Practice Panther is great. I like that they are continually updating the plug ins and functionality. I tried a few other systems before committing, and PP was the most intuitive, prettiest to look at, and the support people are great.

I don't have any. I guess if I had to complain about something it is that you can't easily see your hours broken down per month in a report

Practice Panther has been extremely receptive to our suggestions for improvements and changes when specific things didn't work for us. They respond quickly, and when something surfaces that may take awhile to improve, they communicate clearly and regularly to keep us in the loop.

Pros

Love the ease of use for the billing program. It's clear, easy to use, and easily adaptable / modifiable for your billing needs.

Cons

Sometimes glitches occur that cause you to have to break down your billing into smaller sections which is a little more time consuming.

I like using PracticePanther overall. It is good for tasking, time management and to a certain extent document storage. My firm definitely benefits from the ease in generating invoices or case history as well.

Pros

I like that I can task myself and my team for specific tasks, calls, events, etc. I like the ability to fairly easily add all my emails with the mailsync feature.

Cons

I wish I could assign certain tasks specifically to my paralegal and/or legal assistant so they know it is their task. Instead we are all sent the reminders. I also wish there was a one click copy option for mailsync. I don't like having to highlight copy and paste. It takes additional time and would be something I think could be easily fixed.

Pros

I like that it is very easy to organize all the information about a client, including their address and their phone numbers. It is also very helpfull to track our activities for any client. I work in a law firm and we use it to track the hours we work in each case, I found the software very friendly in this aspect. The notes are also very helpfull in order to keep informed the rest of the partners about the status of the cases. The software also allows you to keep track of your invoices and the payments made by client.

Cons

At the beginning I had trouble tracking my hours in cases where I forgot to put the timer but once you get how to do it manually it is all resolved.

Our own experience for our firm has been fantastic. Support staff has been very prompt and helpful whenever we had a question. I have recommended the product to every attorney I know.

Pros

Our entire office, from attorneys to support staff to office administrator, have all commented how intuitive and easy the software is to use. There is no doubt that our attorneys and paralegals have become more productive from using this software. Also, the reports for A/R, billable time per user, and many others are extremely valuable. We are a new firm, and this is our first (and last) billing software for our office.

Cons

If there is one thing I am "disappointed" with, it would have to be the add-on we purchased from Law Tool Box for court rules. When we first started using it, the rules for Nevada (where we practice), were almost all incorrect, or useless for our civil litigation practice. Despite providing Law Tool Box with all of the information on the proper court rules that apply here in Nevada over a month ago, they have still not made those changes. We have not been able to use or rely on it for anything. A great concept, but not functional. Useless.

### "Better than Clio, Better than anything on the market, Fast and Easy!"

Many saved hours and freedom from frustration! Peace of mind seeing my trust balance and $ due/ $ paid on the dashboard.

Pros

Fast, easy to use, intuitive program, excellent, responsive customer service. After struggling with software that was too oriented to litigation law firms and didn't work for my IP practice and use of flat fees, software that didn't give me the reports I needed to run my business, and software that took me 2 hours to create invoices that displayed what I needed them to display, I found Practice Panther. It tells me what I want to know when I want to know it, and invoices are so quick and easy to create and customize on the fly. Perfect syncing with Quickbooks also keeps data entry at a minimum. Answer to my prayers!

Cons

There are still one or two reports I haven't figured out how to create; and I am still unsure how to work with PP and Quickbooks when it comes to billable expenses paid by credit card. I suspect these "cons" have more to do with me learning some of the more advanced, newer features, particularly dealing with cost accounting, and less to do with limitations of the software.

If I've ever had an issue such as integrating a calendar, it didn't last long. Tech support is as easy as a chat or phone call. Everyone I've worked with at Practice Panther has been quick to respond with an immediate answer.

Pros

When an attorney can access the most recent case status at any time or place, he or she can direct their assistants to reschedule, contact a client, or draft a document for review, directly from within the software. "Time" is more than money, it can be the difference in a favorable decision for your client, and effective service can lead to your next client referral. Everything you need to know, from billable hours, account balances, recent notes, phone calls, or critical events are available from the app on your phone or your home or office computer. Practicepanther provides you the "time" to provide your clients with the best legal service you can give. Practicepanther even provides a billable timer than integrates directly into the matter you are working on. As a previous user of Needles, and Time Matters, Practicepanther has faster integration, and does so much more. It's design makes it simple to use for even those who have never used legal office-management software. Perfect for solo offices or large firms.

### "Perfect for my needs"

I have been using PracticePanther for my small law firm for a little over a year now. It has proven to be extremely valuable and has made my practice more productive. I have been able automate a variety of functions that I use every day to be more productive and expand my business. The software is extremely easy to customize and set up for my practice. Billing, intake forms, templates, workflows, calendar management and client relationship management, cloud storage, client portals with secure messaging are all integrated into the software. No hidden costs. Everything is included and no upcharges. Support is very responsive with several ways to contact them right within the program. They are also very responsive to suggestions and they have quickly integrated requested features. While I am not sure how many people work at PracticePanther, I imagine there a lot. However, I feel like I get the support of a local business and that my business matters.

Pros

I like just about everything about this software and have put most of my likes in my review.

Cons

It is hard to find a least like in this software, and if there ever is it get addressed and fixed. For example I had difficulty setting up my invoices but after contact with their support and granting them temporary access it was fixed in minutes

Organization and project management. Good at tracking financials and accepting credit card payments from clients. I enjoyed using Practice Panther and they have a clean interface. The sales team is a bit aggressive if you sign up for the trial, but other than that, it is fairly simple to use across all platforms (desktop, mobile, tablet.)

Pros

I like how easy it is to schedule a meeting or bill clients. The invoicing system and the templates are useful features. LawPay is free if you sign up through PracticePanther, which is great since it is an integrated way to accept credit card payments from clients securely. The ability to add notes to jot down details from phone calls or client meetings is helpful. It is a great organizational tool that is affordable, though not the cheapest option.

Cons

Good IT support, but the customer support calls get annoying while you are on the trial. (They called me about 6 times over one month since I signed up for the trial, and even though it was a human caller, the conversation was very scripted and they really pressure you to upgrade.)

Practice Panther is a great, easy to use product. The tags feature allows for easy sorting and most of the software is self-explanatory. I love that I can google any question on practice panther and find a full written and video demo to answer my questions.

Cons

I would like to be able to generate batch billing. When I generate invoices to send on to an attorney, it puts them all into a zip, which splits to each individual invoice. I would like to have an option to have the invoices merged into one file. The way the files are named also prevents me from uploading directly to OneDrive with out changing the file name, which can be very frustrating.

Overall - the system is great. I have complaints about the trust accounting and a few other minor things - but the fact is - there is not a perfect matter management/docketing/ accounting software does not yet exist.

I love that you can learn it slowly - but start using it right away. We started by just entering time and expenses and invoicing, now we use the integrations

Cons

Support is slow but helpful. The chat feature is often not staffed and it tells you the chat responses take hours. There is huge functionality, but some very basic functions are missing. Example: the reimburse feature; for attorney expenses like court parking, over the counter filing fees after a haring etc. We had this basic feature in another very basic matter management system.
