The more time I have to commit to my clients, the more clients I can bring on. Pros This is the first software system that I have used to track time, and I was a bit nervous at first to track time effectively. Practice Panther made the transition into tracking billable hours very easy, with options for adding in multiple entries at once, maintaining multiple timers, and keeping personal notes within the time entry that can then be exported to an excel sheet. Cons When adding multiple time entries, I would like to still have the option to input a private note. I also have not learned about all of the integrations that are available, and would like to see a resource center where I could watch videos or review instructions for setting up integrations with other software. Pros It was a breath of fresh to use a legal software that modeled a Windows environment and something dos-based. The customer support is superior and the company is constantly improving the product based on customer feedback. Cons We lost some financial reporting capabilities switching from ProLaw to Panther. We use it as a cloud-based service and it's very convenient that we can access this software from other tablets, phones, and devices. I also enjoy that this software can be integrated with other programs, such as Dropbox and Quickbooks. Cons It would be easier if there were some additions where we wouldn't have to go through a third party, such as Bates numbering or a group-messaging system. Pros Helps me manage my solo practice all by myself. My clients are satisfied with their client portal and ability to send me messages. Cons I would like to be able to make payment plan invoices for my clients, so I do not have to remind them to pay every month. Most clients would not want to set up automatic payments, so with payment plan invoices, it would help alot and relieve the burden of reminding clients every month, that a payment needs to be made. " October 25, 2017 3.0 Pros The software is easy to figure out. The customer service is quick to respond. The software is readily available across any platform or mobile device. The software syncs with QuickBooks, GoogleDrive, Microsoft 385, Dropbox. I love being able to work from anywhere. This type of case management software is changing the way attorneys do business. Cons The lack of relational connections between opposing counsel, court systems, and clients so I can view all cases under which judge or opposing counsel. The pre-set fields need to be expanded as the ability to customize can make the situation more custom to your can increase the input to set up clients. It's not only very user friendly, it's economical as well. On more than one occasion, I've highly recommended this software. Cons I've not discovered any least liked features about PracticePanther. Support does it's best to get you the answer and if it is a very important loss of function it is escalated quickly and effectively. Pros Reviewing each area that we dealt with might be the best way to create a picture of PracticePanther. I have provided a short review of each below: The sales team addressed any and all concerns effectively and went deep into any concerns we had. The data migration team did their best to work back and forth with us to try and make sure the data wasn't input incorrectly. Their training team provided excellent training for our employees and still continues to do so. The support lower tier and higher tiers addressed any issues our team has had very quickly. Personally I enjoyed the ability to pull down literally any data search into excel and run analytics on them. It provides a robust way to look at the data and a transparent way to export whatever you may need. Cons They have a time frame to transfer all of your data into their system from older systems. If you went outside of this time and missed some things about data quality you could possibly get charged for it. If you are importing a lot of data I would suggest you make sure you have a clear picture of what you want and make sure they understand your expectations as well. Possibly have some longer detailed phone calls with their import team. The outlook calendar import is a bit tricky too, as you need a .csv to import and not just a 365 login. Practice Panther has made my life so much easier from time entries to document management." July 10, 2018 5.0 Pros Two things - first, I really like that all of my client information is in one easy location; with simple clicks I can navigate from client contact info to client emails to time keeping in mere seconds. Second, I love that in just a few minutes I can create several documents from my templates I have created with Practice Panther's super easy coding system. Editing a template is as easy as edit, save, and upload! Simply amazing! I also saw a gap in the market to offer practical and affordable legal advice to startups and entrepreneurs, the kind of clients who are keen to work in a new and different way with their lawyer. I launched my law firm, J L Walker Law six months ago and I’ve found the appetite for virtual law firms and flexible billing practices has been increasing ever since. I had a fairly rudimentary practice management system before joining Practice Panther (Google Business, Word, etc) – a typical sole practitioner kind of approach because you wear so many hats! I realised I needed one simple, user-friendly platform with good security and functionality – Practice Panther fit the bill. Pros I honestly love the intuitive design and user-friendly search functions. It just makes matter management, invoicing and billing an absolute breeze, rather than a hassle. The staff are always helpful and efficient in dealing with customer queries too. Cons No cons - but I would like to see some integration with other third party cloud-based platforms, ie Xero (invoicing/billing) - I understand this is coming soon! The mobile app allows you to quickly capture your activity while fresh and to enter time, expenses, etc., on the go, during travel or momentary downtime, or in other instances where use of a laptop may not be practical or convenient. Pros The product has great functionality in tracking time, ease of performing and switching functions with multiple access points to product features (such as editing time entries and invoices), and creating professional looking invoices. Owner Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Best and easiest out there" February 12, 2018 5.0 It's now a whiz to keep track of my calendar everywhere and bill for stuff I used to simply miss. Pros Ease of use - I have tried a handful of products over the past year trying to find one that was reasonably priced, easy to use and set-up, had support in case I had issues, and hit all or most of the marks for what I needed in a practice management software. Practice Panther is so easy to learn, I was up and running within MINUTES. I kid you not - MINUTES. Sure I am still learning parts of it, but overall, for the past month plus I have used it every day and have NO complaints. It is so intuitive and easy to use, I kick myself for not trying it sooner. Cons A few tweaks would make it perfect - just a few personal preferences, maybe not applicable to everyone. The great part of this "con" is Practice Panther listens and when I ask for a feature, they seriously consider adding it, or changing something to make it even easier to use. Parter Legal Services Used the software for: ### "Automating your Law Office" April 18, 2017 5.0 Before we had Practice Panther we had Rocket Matter as our software management system and they increased our fees significantly after the 1st year of our subscription. Practice Panther has fixed rates. Before we were doing a lot of things manually and spending a significant amount of time finding information about clients, and copying and pasting descriptions of time for billing. Now we have easy access to client information and don't have most of those issues. Also, the templates and inputs are awesome for routine legal forms! The custom fields and custom groups are increasing effectiveness and efficiency and quality of the our practice because of less mistakes and less of the problem of finding old client's names in forms that you might miss. Once created, the templates also makes it easier to find the permanent form for the specific area for your practice. Practice Panther added the ability to bill your time right from the calendar soon after we subscribed which is a huge time advantage. Also, Practice Panther is mobile with a great iphone app and ipad app you can take in the court room or on the road. My receptionist and legal secretary can make appointments which immediately show up on my remote apps and vice versa, and the calendar and billing time also works great on those apps. I researched many legal software management programs before deciding on Practice Panther and I have not been disappointed. It is an excellent software management system for the small to medium size law firm. Pros The software is very easy to use, which is due to a user-friendly interface. It has features to help you track time, calendar, invoice clients, track payments, manage operating & trust accounts. It also integrates with other, favorite programs like Google Calendar (syncs), Box.net (file storage), Law ToolBox (rules calendaring), LawPay (accepting credit card payments) Cons I encountered some problems with the time tracker freezing up when using the program. Tech support was very helpful in researching the problem and helping me to fix it. " June 6, 2017 5.0 I'm not sure there is anything I like "least" about the software. As with any software, I would like it to do exactly what I want to do tailored for my particular type of practice. That is obviously impossible absent having custom written software. However, after trying numerous platforms, Practice Panther is the closest thing I've been able to find two custom software. Pros When I oversaw operations at my previous firm, I always lamented my inability to leverage existing technology in a thoughtful and efficient way. Changing the dogma at an existing firm seems to be a significant barrier to many firms implementing technology solutions and, more importantly, sticking with them.When I decided to begin anew, I spent weeks trying all of the software out there. I tested the patience of the support teams as I pushed the limits of the various software platforms to make sure they would work in a way that integrated with how I work and think. Once I found Practice Panther, I knew I was where I wanted to be. The program is intuitive, forward-thinking, and addresses the things that I care the most about. Support is rapid and efficient.
