Seamless integration with Office 365, Box (and Dropbox), Quickbooks, LawPay, and more. We are capturing more of our billable time and the client portal has decreased the time between invoice and payment resulting in higher collection rates. They also have a wonderful support team that really cares about making your user experience the best it can be.

Pros

I cannot say enough good things. There are so many Pros! Seamless integration with Box, Quickbooks, LawPay, and Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Transferring/Uploading client & matter information was easy and amazingly fast. We were up an running after only a few hours from creating our account. Our clients appreciate the Client Portal including being able to securely upload documents, send secure messages (rather than using email), receive invoices, and pay online. We left another law firm management program, Rocket Matter, after only 2 weeks due to poor integration and non-stop headaches. I was worried Practice Panther would end up being much of the same, but I could not be happier we decided to jump to Practice Panther. Their tech support team strives to find solutions rather than simply telling us "no." Every time I wonder whether Practice Panther has the ability to do something, their team finds a way to make it happen. We are extremely happy with platform.

Cons

A few of the features were not immediately intuitive, but as we use it more and learn about all its features the happier we are with our choice.

I can keep realistic records of actual time spent, and detail about what I've been doing, which enables me to make a very credible motion for award of attorney's fees when we win.

Pros

As an attorney, I love the power to keep track of time--in real time. I can start a timer to record time spent on behalf of clients, or, I can input the time spent on tasks where I didn't have time to start the timer before jumping into an issue.

Cons

After I got accustomed to the features, I like everything about it.

### "An appropriate case management application."

Pros

The application interface is very user-friendly, we can easily create task lists and track down all the actions done on a particular case. The application also provides contacts management and we can add notes to each file. The workflows have helped our team to stay on track with the upcoming steps. In addition to CRM, the application assists in time management and the sub reminder feature enable us to schedule emails in advance. The customer service is very responsive, you can contact them via live chat or emails. The invoicing feature helps to track all your accounts with clients, including the operating account details and the credit card transactions. It is very simple to create templates and you get to see all the contact’s details on the dashboard eliminating the need to navigate through several portals to get them. The application has superb reporting features where we get in-depth details about income and expenses.

Cons

The application requires more automation. The absence of integration with PayPal. Documentation features are absent. We can’t view emails from an external source.

The software is very intuitive and easy to use. PracticePanther has clearly thought of the details to make day-to-day practice so much easier. I highly recommend this software!

Pros

Document automation is AMAZING. Once you have your templates uploaded and custom fields set, it can cut down your drafting time by a lot. As a new solo practitioner without a paralegal, this is invaluable. The customer service is fantastic. The software has a chat feature where you can type a question if you cannot find the answer in their extensive help center. I always receive a response the same day, and usually within a couple hours at most. The help center is quite extensive, and has both videos and text articles. I love the invoice reminders feature. It is automated, so I don't have to remember to send an email to a client if they have not paid!

Cons

Some of the "syncing" features are not actually syncs. For example, the sync with Outlook's calendar requires that you invite your PracticePanther calendar. It does not communicate directly with Outlook. Same with LawPay. If you enter a payment through PracticePanther, it will sync with the software; if you send the LawPay link directly to the client, it does not record that as a payment in PracticePanther.

### "Easily tied our two offices together."

Has allowed our two offices to start working together seamlessly, with fewer emails back and forth and duplicated work. Can more easily manage the workflow of support staff regardless of which office they work in. Attorneys can now access all their work from court or wherever they happen to be.

Pros

Love that it's cloud based and has almost no learning curve. If you have basic internet navigation skills, you can master Practice Panther in no time.

Cons

Would prefer for "contacts" and "clients" to be two separate things, and would prefer to have contacts entered in custom fields on the matter page automatically added to that matter's relationships. Would love to see added functionality of being able to generate mailing lists/proofs of service from the relationships tab.

I owe PracticePanther so much for helping our firm keep us true to our mission. At Ticket Drop, we made it a mission of our firm to provide the best customer service, so I have been looking for a reliable and affordable case management software that would help me do just that. I was hesitant to finally settle on one, but that changed when I tried PracticePanther. Almost immediately I found the software much more easy to use than the other products I tried out and it accomplished everything I was looking for to benefit my firm and my clients. We make sure each of our clients is able to communicate directly with the lawyer handling their ticket. PracticePanther's portal is so easy to use and intuitive, no one in our firm had any trouble getting our clients to use it to view the status of their case, billing, important announcements, and to keep track of all the work their lawyer was doing for them. I can tell you that our clients were incredibly grateful to have all the information available to them. PracticePanther made it so easy for them to see how hard we were working for them. PracticePanther made it so simple and faster to communicate with our clients and I know their software is saving us so much time in the short and long run. PracticePanther was the best way to show our clients that we mean what we say: that we value customer service. No other software out there made it so easy to keep our clients happy and our employees happy. The guys over at PracticePanther's customer support are also incredibly helpful. The software is not hard at all to pick up, but when there were a few bumps in the road I simply picked up the phone and called their customer support. They took their time helping me through the issues I had, they answered all my questions patiently and took my feedback to heart. They really make it a priority to listen to feedback and use it to make their software even better. That's how you make a better product and their software really show how much they try to make it user-friendly.

### "Virtual Files are a Reality"

Before PP we used a billing software with a calendar function. It did not provide a place to add contacts except for the client.

Pros

All information on a file is kept in one place and easily accessible. One of the great features is the accounting summary on each matter. You see at a glance how much money is left in trust; whether the client needs to replenish an evergreen retainer and how much you have billed out on the case. I am a visual person practicing family law so each case has unique money circumstances. This feature helps me stay on top of the $$ in the case.

Cons

I don't like that Matters are the main way you interact with the client. When all of your clients are individuals and not an insurance company with multiple files, it is a little hard to get right to the case. I am working on figuring out the shortcuts.

### "Change after 10 years - how easy was Practice Panther"

We needed software that was truly Cloud based that wasn't full of many of the bugs and issues we have seen in the last 15 years with many legal case management systems. Having specialised in Legal Costs for the last 30 years I have seen every flavour of CMS. Practice Panther was for us a simple choice, find a system that allowed us to increase billing and spend less time in the business, this has done it. The team at PP are great and so helpful. Best decision the business made aside from buying our own building.

Pros

It sits on the Cloud, allows us to access on any device and best of all it feels like it was designed for Macs. And after 10 years of using a desktop CMS purely for Macs PP has changed the way we work ( our billing accuracy has improved by 75% in the first 2 months ). Ability to use on ipad, iphone, Windows or Mac , the ease of the dashboard.

There has so far been nothing that we dislike

Pros

Ease of use and the graphics. My mind tends to see things in compartments and colors. Practice Panther is visually exciting and very easy to use, even for first time users of legal management software!

I cannot legitimately think of a "con". I have been using Practice Panther for a little less than six months, and have had no issues or problems.

I've helped client firms escape the torture of competitive software and find their way to Practice Panther.

Pros

Everything about this software is great. The interface is intuitive and easy to use. On the rare occasion that you can't figure something out, the support team is excellent. You name the feature - time entry, client management, relationships management, reports . . . whatever - Practice Panther is great. Having consulted with 150+ law firms of every size throughout the USA, this is the best software I've seen.

Cons

I wish the matter naming system was a little more restrictive so that you wouldn't end up with 40 variations of certain terms "Civil litigation", etc.

Portability of the practice.

Pros

The ease of accessing it from a web browser, the ability to instantly Chat with practice panther personnel or my inhouse personnel, client portal which shares documents and calendar events with the client, and synch with Google calendar and contacts.

Cons

The "add a call" feature doesn't have contact field for the other caller with their information. For example, in the matter, there are various contact fields that can be added. They allow you to populate through a drop down to the contact's info. If this was also in the "add a call" then I could have the phone number of the contact from the call part. So it would be nice to have ability to customize the call area to add workflow or templates like the matter area.

Easy way to communicate securely with clients. It makes sending them a bill so much more pleasant because it allows them to log in and pay rather than having to drive to the office and give a check or card.

Pros

Great customer service, easy to follow training videos, and our clients enjoy the features.as well.

Cons

I'd like the BCC/mailsync option to be easier to access when I'm emailing from outlook. I know you can download the vCard. Is there an easier method?

Thank you so much for your feedback. There is an easier method to sync your BCC/Mailsync email addresses to Outlook. If you have Exchange, you can sync your contacts and their BCC email addresses directly to Outlook. Once you use them once in Outlook, it will auto-populate everytime thereafter per person. I have been able to organize my clients and matters and have a central place to look for all information that I need. I have also been able to save time by using the document automation features and client intake forms. My clients really like having the client portal. I also love the integration with LawPay and Quickbooks because it makes bringing in money and organizing the money so much easier than it was before I had PP.

Pros

I really like the automation features including document templates and workflows.

Cons

In workflows, I haven't figured out how to make PP let you create an event that includes the date and time. It seems to default to all day events. I'm still working on figuring that out.

Rocket Matter didn't have all of the integrations I wanted. To get all of the features in Clio, I would have had to buy two different programs of theirs. I also don't remember if it had the LawPay integration or document automation features. If it did, I liked the way PP was set up more.

Pros

Offers the integration and ease of use needed for a small business, all of the essentials for streamlining tasks so that duplication of efforts is minimized. Also, receptive staff that implements users input and suggestions in timely and effective manner.

Cons

Integration to Business accounts is needed. Stronger partnership with quick-books may aid in that.

Overall, this is way better than our former program and I hope they will continue to improve.

Pros

I like some of the features this program has built in such as billing for hourly rates, and ability to download/send invoices right from the software.

Cons

It has A LOT of strange glitches that seem to still need work. It freezes occasionally, and I can never get the side bar timer to work. I have also had issues with generating invoices depending on how you put the payments in the client file. (PP says this is normal, BUT it is incredibly NON user friendly.) There seems to be more interest in trying to justify their flaws, than to fix them- which is frustrating. This software is also spendy.

Streamlined business operations.

Pros

When I opened my own office, I researched other practice management systems. I ultimately selected PracticePanther and could not be more pleased. It is intuitive, cloud based, and seamlessly integrates with other cloud based technologies, e.g. email, calendaring, document storage, credit card processing, etc It is a very user friendly portal to running your entire law practice. The invoicing is amazing bordering on magical. What years ago was a time consuming and cumbersome process has been reduced to a few clicks of the mouse. In about 15 seconds you can generate an invoice, send it to a client electronically, and accept payment online.

I haven't found anything that I don't like. But give it some time, I've only been using it for 5 months.

I very much enjoy virtually all aspects of this software and my law firm is happy to be working with practice panther.

Pros

I like the reminders, the ability for clients to pay online, the record keeping, and many other aspects of this program.

Cons

At this point, we have not encountered any problems we could not solve by ourselves or with the help of practice panther staff members. So far, so good! No problems!
