Cons The AI might be okay for tech-related presentations, but for nursing edutainment, which is our niche, it was alarmingly not on track. Every slide we created was more ill-advised than the last. I think this speaks to finding AI products that are used by--and therefore trained by--folks in the same area of expertise. I'll try again in six months! Pros I was exploring alternatives to the loved Powerpoint slide presentation and found out about this. I love the templates because it has multiple designs that are categorized into 'themes' and not just for the business/office type of setup but for casual presentations as well. This has powerful export functionality such as converting the slides into a gif animation or a flash format which is great for making not just presentations but banners for blogs and websites. You can even make e-cards with this software. The text also animates and there's plenty to choose from. It is also great for making story lines - the kind that you have with Powtoons. For me, with this tool and your endless imagination, nothing's going to stop you from creating awesome slides. Cons I'm not finding any cons except for RAM usage when your slide elements stack up. But I guess, it's just my PC with just an average CPU power to process multimedia. Other than that, there are no bugs that I've encountered. Reasons for choosing Focusky Presentation Maker At that time, I wasn't aware of Powtoons having an offline installer which was one of my candidates for Powerpoint alternative. And although this may be a bit pricy compared to the latter and other similar products, I'm glad I discovered this and I'm using it more frequently than before. I am not sure I would use it as my main presentation software, but it's good to change from time to time. Pros Focusky is a presentation manager and proovides an alternative to Powerpoint and Prezi. You can "hover" over the background, zooming onto details as if you were a drone. The proves more effective than a standard Powerpoint presentation, especially if your audience is not familiar with this kind of effects. Focusky has all standard bells and whistles, including 3d text, shapes, images and the like. The paid version allows to export presentations as exe files, meaning that you don't need an Internet connection to run them in the classroom. Cons While they did a great job to provide all the standard functions needed in a presentation software, still the menus differ from the Powerpoint ones, meaning that you may feel lost at times, until you find out the key details. Also, if your audience is already familiar with this type of presentations (say, with Prezi), the visual effects provided by Focusky may prove unexciting and not worth the effort. Pros It has a 3d system that makes it one of the few platforms to view all kinds of presentations from another angle beyond the linear and the usual, adding a zoom system, panoramic. For me as a user, it has a great framework of creative templates that guarantee having a level of professional presentation in a few steps regardless of the level. It also has a large content library which allows, apart from the templates, to elaborate new arguments and edit them without needing a connection. Its audio and animation support system are quite elaborate, complete and make my presentations capture the attention of the staff that I am teaching. It has cloud support which allows uploading the information to then continue on another device or send between users. Cons Currently I have no negative aspects to highlight, the application is adjusted to everything I need to achieve the objectives within the organization.
