Since most of our presentation team is made up of volunteers, we needed software that was easy to learn and use, and MediaShout has been exactly that. Features like SongSelect integration save us a lot of preparation time, and having dozens of Bible translations included makes adding scripture quick and simple. We also appreciated being able to purchase the software outright instead of paying an ongoing subscription. On top of that, their support team has always been helpful whenever we've needed assistance. Pros I loved how easy it was for my volunteers to pick it up. We reached out to support a couple of times to get started but then after that - we were good to go. I also appreciate some of the new features MediaShout just added to make it easier for me to find new backgrounds. Cons Only available on Windows — we had to make sure our presentation computer was a PC, but that wasn't a big deal for us. We also had some new Volunteers join and our old media person left - so no one knew how to use ProPresenter and we weren't able to learn easily. I used it consistently for about 4 years. Pros Media shout did a great job of making the slides on our monitors efficient and without flaws. It was easy to implement and cut out computer screens showing during church. Cons It was laggy when using multiple different programs at the same time. We only used one program at a time due to this. Pros 1\. Price - there is a onetime price vs a monthly/yearly subscription. 2. Features - The version you purchase is yours. While there are free versions of presentation software that are good for a small startup congregation, Media Shout will grow with you and your needs 3. Ease of use - we have successfully trained people from 17 to 65 to use the software comfortably 4. Training - there are a number of simple and quick training videos on YouTube Cons Usable copy purchases are somewhat limiting or intimidating. You receive a limited number of activations at time of purchase. The full version trial program helps to ensure that the PC you are putting it on is really ready. I always recommend using an up-to-date PC with higher specs than required. We wasted our money with MS 7. Pros Although previous MS programs have been fairly easy to use and navigate we are finding MS7 to have many issues in navigation and set up. The instructions are hard to follow and when support does help you they go through things so fast that it is hard to keep up. Cons MS 7 is hard to set up on a weekly basis.
