Reports are running quicker, no more glitches or errors, and the additional functionality is transforming how we do business. Cons Some areas are hard to implement into the organization, like project planning and resource management. I've worked in CostPoint before as well and the training on that was horrible, but moving from CostPoint to Vision was super easy. If you have the right trainers when implementing, you will have no problems. Pros Love the pay when pay function, it works great. As a result it is difficult to use, and takes more time to deal with than it should. We have had Vision for three years now and are still setting it up after paying your consultants a lot of money to set it up. I'm interested in how I can plot time and resources, maybe a gantt chart or deduct some workers from overall job costs bec. it isn't relevant....as a timesheet entry software it is great, otherwise.....it's confusing. Unfortunately it installs as a desktop app and is not yet a simple browser-based experience. That would go a long way in making the software easier to use and more accessible. Pros I really like that the software allows you to log in and see past pay stubs and benefits without having to ask our HR team. Cons I think the software is a little clunky to install in that it will sometimes be blocked in windows and other times it has to install seemingly out of no where even if there are no apparent updates. The company has worked hard to keep pace with changes in technology by creating an effective mobile strategy and evolving the product to take advantage of the web/mobile first strategy that has proven effective for so many other software manufacturers. Data Analyst Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Solid accounting software with plenty of room for customization" November 2, 2017 4.0 Pros It's a relational database in its root, sitting on top of a MS SQL database, so the flexibility inherent in that is a huge plus. It's project-based, which is essential for A&E firms. Over-the-chat tech support is a pretty awesome feature. Cons Reporting could be better. It's pretty clunky and unintuitive, thus forcing many users to reach for Excel for the usual features. Other than the over-the-chat tech support, the learning resources are pretty scarce, but Deltek is actively trying to remedy that. Review Source KQ Karen Q. The accounting functions are very easy to navigate and labeled very clear. There are items that can be improved on but overall the functionality is good. I have not really had to deal with support but have been told by the ones that do that they are normal for responsiveness. Although not using our payroll system for timekeeping adds extra steps, this system is easy to use. Pros Easy to use. Easy to load charge codes and set up new employees. Very easy to train new employees on. Cons The vacation tracking feature is always behind due to having to use two systems to track accurately. Cons It is difficult to pull running list of projects based on time frames or other parameters. Very unintuitive to use! Deltek can segregate the works that have been finished and determining the time that has been spent on each work.Billing and invoices are differentiated based on the client project. We can customize everything according to our work requirement, Deltek provides a good customer support for any problem. Cons The interface is not intuitive there are no basic tutorials showing how to use the interface. Pros Time and expense management as well as reporting and being able to drill down for PMs on certain aspects of their projects. The reporting functions well, and the batch billing is excellent for running large amounts of invoices at one time. Cons I don't like that it only runs on internet explorer - it's a bit outdated. I also wish that it was more HR inclusive. It would be great if you could run unposted labor reports that included the billing rates which is a minor inconvenience. Also if you could run an unposted unit report as well that would greatly benefit the PMs. Review Source JF Julie F. We have just transitioned to the Cloud and find it is very fast and responsive. We have had very few issues with Vision. We have used it for many years for our accounting and time management and are now beginning to use the CRM portion of the software. However, Vision is a tool with a lot of features and I know it has potential that I have no idea how to tap into. Would be nice if there was a more straightforward way to maximize it for our business. Pros It is comprehensive and the features are useful for managing almost all aspects of a business. Cons It is not always clear how to get the information I need out of it. The support site helps, but it is still not always clear and simple.
