### "A great tool to use with a few minor issues"

April 21, 2021

4.0

Overall the experience was good but if we knew what we know now, we might have opted for a different tool or at least we would have done more research

Pros

I like the GUI the most as the simplicity and the ease of use of this tool makes it a fantastic product

Cons

I like the IT support the least, I think there could be a lot more support that could have been given to us when we were implementing and having some issues at the start of the implementation

### "Bullhorn for a staffing agency"

January 20, 2025

5.0

So far Bullhorn has worked well as an ATS but the options to customize and do BULK actions is a must.

Pros

Bullhorn integrates with most other systems that we use and is accessible on the go.

Cons

Bullhorn is very cumbersome and it lacks the customization we need in the staffing world with many differing clients.

Switched from

For the onboarding aspect we switched to Bullhorn but Asana made it easier to customize.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that the system makes it easy to maintain interaction notes and client records. We hear your frustration regarding calendar accessibility for you and your colleagues. We make regular updates to our user interface and automated workflows specifically to ensure that team calendars and shared schedules are easily accessible in one place. You can reach out to your account manager to ensure these integrated scheduling tools are correctly configured for your team.

### "Bullhorn ATS - Is just the best "

December 16, 2020

5.0

I recommend Bullhorn to many of our staffing clientele, I always go back to all the features Bullhorn provides, all of the integrations we use (Indeed/LinkedIn) to name a few. The ease of use is a big one for us and it just works so well with our business!

Pros

Bullhorn is so user friendly first off! When i train new employees on the use and flow of Bullhorn I have never had an issue with them not understanding. There are so many training videos that show step by step instructions on how to move throughout Bullhorn that are so helpful!

Cons

There are sometimes latency issues, but this seems to get fixed quite fast! Other than that, we typically do not have many issues within Bullhorn that are worth complaining about.

### "Bullhorn"

October 11, 2019

4.0

Works overall well for our needs, it's a bit pricey but does the job for a staffing firm

Pros

It's easy to pick up if you're a new user, the navigation is intuitive and it's rather easy to find what you need, input data, etc.

Cons

There's a lot of bugs and issues when it comes to logging in to sessions, it kicking you out too quickly, and a lot of features are either redundant or don't exist. (ie. you can't delete a company profile?) It's also difficult to edit features in the field mapping, acts too much like coding if you're not familiar with how to make those changes.

### "Overview of Bullhorn experience"

December 17, 2018

4.0

Bullhorn is a great CRM system, it's easy to learn and use and it has served us well so far. Our staff have picked it up easily however the odd technical glitch can be quite frustrating.

Pros

I like that the contacts, clients and candidates can all link up so you can keep track of everything and i love how you can track your recruitment process as it's happening.

Cons

We have had a couple of issues with latency in the past which has been time consuming. A lot of this happened when Bullhorn transitioned to the S Release

Pros

Deciding to switch to Bullhorn was the best decision our firm made. It is easy to use, and has improved our efficiency immensely. Bullhorn even allows us to store documents on it, allowing our firm to go 100% paperless. This product is incredible.

Cons

### "Streamline Your Hiring and Sales Processes""

Praising the system's powerful tools for candidate sourcing, resume parsing, and job posting, as well as its intuitive interface and customizable workflows. The system also offers strong reporting and analytics capabilities, allowing users to gain insights into key metrics and make data-driven decisions. That being said, some users have noted issues with cost, complexity, and customer support, which may make the system less attractive for certain businesses. However, overall, Bullhorn ATS & CRM is a solid option for companies looking to streamline their recruitment and sales operations and improve their overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Pros

Bullhorn allowing users to tailor the platform to their specific needs and workflows.Additionally, Bullhorn ATS & CRM provides powerful reporting and analytics capabilities, enabling users to track key metrics and gain valuable insights into their recruiting and sales operations. The system also integrates with a wide range of third-party tools, such as job boards, social media platforms, and productivity apps, making it a versatile and flexible solution for businesses of all sizes.

Cons

Cost: Some users have noted that Bullhorn ATS & CRM can be expensive, especially for smaller businesses with limited budgets.Complexity: While many users have praised the system's user-friendly interface, others have found it to be overly complex and difficult to navigate, especially for new users.Customer support: Some users have reported issues with customer support, citing slow response times and difficulty in getting their issues resolved in a timely manner.Lack of integrations: While Bullhorn ATS & CRM does offer integrations with many third-party tools, some users have noted that certain integrations are missing or not fully functional, limiting the system's flexibility and adaptability.

### "Bullhorn review"

February 10, 2017

3.0

I'm a former MaxHire advocate, user, trainer, etc. Love the platform. So this is kind of like a Chevy fanatic reviewing a Ford :-)

Pros

Very clean interface. No over-crowding. Mostly intuitive to use. Love that it's not an installed client on a machine and is cloud based. I like how you can immediately edit some field values on records while viewing them in list format. Love the reporting features and functionality. Hands down 1 of the best here that I've seen.

Cons

uploading data by .csv...if some data on the spreadsheet is a dupe in BH, it will tell you that x# of the uploads were duplicate. Okay - great. But then, that x# of dupes don't get displayed in my list. So then I have saved the new uploads into a tearsheet, sort the tearsheet A-Z and then open my spreadsheet to cross reference who the missing x#s are to then go find them individually in BH and add to the tearsheet. In MaxHire - which Bullhorn OWNS - I get an option to add the dupes to the list. BRILLIANT! Activities tab in a person record - I think by default always shows (0). But once you click it, you can then see placements, interviews, appointments, tasks, etc. This makes it really challenging to quickly search for those who have any of those activities. The Bullhorn Accelerator browser extension rarely works. How many times do I have to continue logging in to use it? Same for the Outlook add-in. Set up - I'm really disappointed that Bullhorn doesn't take the additional time on initial configuration to work with new clients on setting up (or at least notifying the client of these things) email integration with Outlook or Gmail. This should be a default practice by Bullhorn. I've now been at 2 companies on Bullhorn who didn't even have this setup and didn't even know the possibility existed. Bullhorn should be making these recommendations - they are called best practices - or making these things set up defaults. I know the user has to work with their domain host/email host. Tearsheets - brilliant idea - but to me, a tearsheet is my call list. I put people in a tearsheet per my planning for the next day. You open the tearsheet and you have to open each record to get to the phone number to be able to call them. This is an epic fail. Tearsheet lists don't even display the binoculars for a profile quick view. That would help. Tearsheets don't allow you to manipulate the fields being displayed on the tearsheet (to display contact info). This is a big fail. It was only after months of frustration that we opened a ticket about this to learn that we have to open the tearsheet through contact or candidate fields to then get access to what makes a tearsheet beneficial in the first place. Totally frustrating. Calendar - EPIC FAIL - Bullhorn doesn't have a calendar. I live in Bullhorn, but have to use my Google Calendar or Outlook calendar to see what my day looks like? Again - you guys OWN MaxHire. Another great feature for Bullhorn to make happen. And if I book appointments for people on my team with a client or candidate (and I won't be attending), I don't even see the event at all because I didn't invite myself to get the message to my inbox to then accept my own invitation. Come on - that's frustrating. How can I see when to follow up or get a reminder to follow up if it doesn't exist on my calendar.

### "Efficient system for managing recruitment agency process from client & candidate side."

April 20, 2023

4.0

Bullhorn does what it says on the tin, it's an efficient clean well integrated candidate, job and client management system. If you get great partner software's to merge with Bullhorn the journey can be even more efficient.

Pros

It was smooth in terms of it's operation, it was a great way to manage your KPI's through intelligence and stats gathering so you know you were 'following the process'

Cons

Visually after using Vincere one of Bullhorn's competitors, they could smooth the visualisations to understand candidate and client stages better.

### "System for tracking applications for candidates efficiently"

December 23, 2022

4.0

Pros

Bullhorn provides you the opportunity to gain experience tracking different clients' movements, positions, and prospects. Find the person you're looking for by calling the number. Bullhorn can link to Sense and send pre-programmed messages for first-day checks, end-of-week checks, etc., allowing me to keep in touch with my staff and learn about any problems they are experiencing as well. You may choose multiple tabs based on your needs and designate one as the default so that it always displays the relevant information. I also appreciate having the opportunity to record notes for each sale or hiring discussion and having the flexibility to amend those notes to keep both you and your coworkers informed.

Cons

A candidate must first be manually created, after which notes and modifications must be added. Speaking about job advertisements, I believe it has to be resolved. Additionally, for the workers I deal with, Pridestaff's broadcast messages occasionally arrive at the wrong time. If/when we entirely close the tab, we have to reopen it. These days, the sidebar is likewise outdated.

### "A flexible and modern ATS made for efficient recruiting"

April 22, 2024

3.0

Bullhorn ATS offers a robust suite with a strong focus on centralized data management, workflow efficiency, and insightful analytics, tailored for recruitment agencies. Its user-friendly mobile interface is commendable. Yet, its complexity and premium cost structure may pose challenges, particularly for startups. Enhancing customer service responsiveness would be beneficial.

Pros

The platform excels in consolidating candidate information in one database, streamlining the search and access process. Flexibility is key with Bullhorn, as it allows the tailoring of recruitment workflows and provides numerous automations for routine tasks. Furthermore, it facilitates effective coordination between recruitment personnel and hiring managers.

Cons

For those less technically inclined, Bullhorn may present a steep learning curve. The investment can be significant for startups since costs scale with user numbers. Reliance on integrations means troubleshooting can be problematic, and the storage system may require technical adjustments. Compared to its competitors, Bullhorn could offer greater adaptability and more expansive customer support.

### "Evaluation of Bullhorn Recruiting Software for Use by a Smaller Retained Executive Search Firm"

December 9, 2016

5.0

I had a personal, on screen demonstration of this product by a rep on Mon Nov 21, 2016 starting at about 11:00 AM PST. Using Citrix I looked at a custom screen demonstration while Adam Cuomo and I spoke by phone. (My rep and I were the only 2 people involved in this presentation.) At the beginning I explained how a small partnership or “solo” retained executive recruiter operates. Although it should be noted that I started my search career working for a larger recruiting firm. And that I am generally familiar how large and small recruiting firms in California and the U.S. function internally. And later I remembered that I had actually evaluated at least two different recruiting software packages in the past. During the on-screen evaluation Mr. Cuomo gave me enough feedback and comments to indicate that he had a really competent understanding of this niche or the overall recruiting business. The Bullhorn software appears to function beautifully. The Bullhorn software or system catalogs candidate profiles, open search projects, communication with candidates and clients, interview schedules, status and feedback reports, etc. And it apparently can accomplish a “housekeeping” function that I didn’t expect. That is, one component of Bullhorn is that it can apparently import a “resume” submitted by email or scanned into a system. And then catalog that candidate profile into the recruiter’s database of contacts. Where there are multiple recruiting consultants working for the same firm --- it helps to insure that everyone “is on the same” as to contacts with all candidates and client organizations. The cost for a small one-user firm like mine was estimated at monthly. The user’s database is kept in Bullhorn’s cloud storage. For my method of executive search Bullhorn is not necessary. All of my recruiting history is in my head or “searchable” by a key word on my Mac’s hard drive. And that recall can be enhanced by a standard Google-search on the web or access to any private database that I might have access to. It would, however, be a consideration if I ever added a partner to the business. As it stands, however, it provides more structure that most small firms probably need. But there was one aspect or component of the Bullhorn offering that could be immediately useful to a small search practice like mine. And that is the ability to neatly and efficiently input resumes that come to me in differing formats into my own structured database of contacts and potential candidates. I don’t have time to personally do this. And it’s often difficult to find and schedule in a support person who can effectively do this with my personal email records and the file notes from my searches. And there is always a concern with confidentiality when outside staff is engaged.

Pros

It appears to really function beautifully. And it's a fit with a retained executive search organization's needs. And it appears to be reasonably priced.

Cons

It probably has a more limited utility for a one or two person retained executive search firm.

### "Great for recruiters"

March 7, 2019

5.0

This platform turned out to be really handy for candidate recruiting. Users should pay special attention to the report functions, as they are really helpful in recruiting. For people who like everything individually organized and neat, it’s a lifesaver.

Pros

\- A truly simplistic layout - Seamless integration of all data from different sources to one complete Bullhorn database. - Efficient tasklist and search - Managing client and talent leads has become much easier - A real time saver - Contact list is searchable and easy to navigate An extremely useful service for integrating databases (e.g. client and sales, recruiting data etc). Bullhorn is one of the best CRM’s I have worked with. Simple, clean visuals, intuitive functions, good integration features. Allows synchronization with other programs and tools. - Customizable, with lots of functions - Compatible with tons of other software

Cons

\- Some problems with user interface, like popups - Refreshing posts is sometimes delayed, especially if they are close in time - Small window sizes, requires lots of scrolling action - Speed – data transmission could be much faster - Needs a lot of updating and administration (which is honestly the problem of all CRM sofrware) - Keeps old data which you have to delete manually, or it will interfere with current priorities

### "Powerful tool, mid level complexity"

May 1, 2017

4.0

Pros

\- Great enterprise implementation team - Intuitive layout - Useful data integrity features (ie. any field can be made mandatory) - Automatic Email inclusion - Good support (within local AU support scope, US support has been underwhelming) - SalesDuel

Cons

Built-in reporting is non-existent with two addon options available, the first being a third party who can create reports for you, and another called Canvas - BullHorn's solution to the overall lack of reporting. Cavnas: Canvas is an in-house rebuild of Cognos Reporting suite however it has a lot of key features disabled, such as the ability for report creators to Cross-Join when required, edit SQL code to enforce certain report behaviour and some minor inconsistent functionality behaviour. Any raised issues are handled well by our local AU support, however, the US Canvas development team are rarely able to provide long-term solutions. As of 1/5/2017, I can't endorse Canvas as a complete or entirely functional product. Training: If you are moving from a system like JobAdder where the entire concept is around making the process as simple as possible and are making more fields mandatory, you'll need more than the basic BullHorn supplied training for your users to ensure the transition is smooth. Data Display: Some overarching data is unavailable in any form, such as "Last Contacted". You can find "Last Note Added" and "Last Edited", however, neither of these take into consideration the Outlook Email integration they have in place. Which makes it difficult to determine the last time a contact was actually contacted in any way. The solutions around this are poor.

### "Bullhorn - Staffing & Recruiting "

December 21, 2021

Overall satisfied with my experience with BH. Easy program to manage my job orders and seems to work well with our assignments and onboarding team. Does what it needs to do and has a simple lay out!

Pros

BH is overall easy to use; It's a lot easier to search via job numbers. The systems is very straight forward; easy to make notes, comments, change requests, update job descriptions and details, etc.

Cons

The search functions aren't the most accurate when it comes to candidates. I also wish the system could calculate the bill rate once the pay rate is entered, especially for accounts with a specific markup.

Pros

I do everything in bullhorn. It may feel bulky at times, but that is just because it is bursting with functionality. There are multiple paths to accomplish the same result, which is convenient.

Cons

### "Clunky, slow, terrible reporting. Does the job, but does so in a very inefficient way. "

November 1, 2017

3.0

Its an ATS - it keeps the data we need, but it just does so really terribly.

Pros

Navigation between candidates, companies, and applications Relatively user-friendly interface Note sharing and distribution listings easy

Cons

Reporting. Pulling a report with the exact same parameters multiple times produce reports with widely varying results. Even when parameters are set (e.g. exclude a field), parameters are not stuck to leading to inaccurate results. Will not operate correctly if there is too much data in the reports, so it cannot handle creating a single report with multiple months/years of data, meaning smaller reports have to be pulled separately and then pieced together manually. Customer service - highlighting issues with the platform went nowhere. Identifying problems or issues elicited zero response from Bullhorn. Performance - so so slow! Opening candidate profiles takes forever!
