### "Do not get Bullhorn if you are a small recruiting firm"

October 18, 2017

2.0

Pros

It looks great and it seems like it could be a great ATS. BUT.................................. as you will see that is about all I can say as a pro right now.

Cons

Once you sign on you find out there are all these extra costs for additional functionality. And they lock you in to a 2 year contract. This is NOT DESIGNED FOR a small recruiting firm. Especially if there is less than 3 of you. No matter how good it looks to you, don't do it. You will find yourself annoyed because you can't add certain features (like Linkedin integration) and when they do releases they don't just update the software, they make you request to update or add a new feature. What recruiter has time to do that? or sits around reading about their ATS. They just don't get it. Please save yourself time and money and look at an ATS designed specifically for your size of firm.

### "The best recruiting ATS/CRM I have experienced!"

August 15, 2017

5.0

This is a fantastic product that I would highly recommend. It is on the cutting edge of recruiting, and is a must-have for people looking to take their organization's talent acquisition efforts to the next level.

Pros

Bullhorn is very intuitive, and I love that it passively tracks email conversations through email formats like Microsoft Outlook. It has powerful reporting capabilities, and makes sourcing passive talent much easier than with a traditional ATS product. It is reliable, has a nice, modern user interface, and is great for when there are multiple recruiters or teams working on the same projects. There are nice branding and marketing options available as well.

Cons

There can be a bit of a learning curve involved, depending on the system that people switch over from. Also, some of the options and customizations can only be accessed, managed or implemented at the enterprise level, which can sometimes be frustrating when there are multiple organizations and operating companies utilizing the technology under a broad set of circumstances.

### "Excellent Recruiting CRM"

December 21, 2018

5.0

Bullhorn is a great CRM - especially for recruiting. It is the best one I have used.

Pros

Great workflow solutions. Easy to use and functional. Always coming out with new updates and ideas.

Cons

My experience with the mass email function was not as easy or functional as a mail merge in other systems.

### "Bullhorn does a good job "

April 25, 2017

4.0

The price is high for a mom and pop like us. There is a local company called Loxo that is much less and offers similar features.

Pros

Auto parsing from e-mails is convenient, tearsheets, searching functions are good. Features for recording placements and managing commissions is great.

Cons

I think the front screen fields could be better - such as a place to put info so all recruiters see right away - such as don't use candidate, locations of interest. I label all dialogue that comes back from a candidate as inbound. It would be good to have the fields of returned inmail, or returned e-mail, Taking candidates off from a tearsheet from the candidate screen isn't easy. I have to go into the actual tearsheet to remove it. For some reason, I get cued to login to bullhorn all the time. Mostly when parsing an e-mail. It could take 2-3 logins to get to the right screen.

never try to get things fixed dont expect customer friendly behavior be prepared to get ripped by the license model

Pros

nice UI was working ok before the new release "novo" easy to use easy to admin and customise integration in outlook was working (before novo), since novo it does no longer work

Cons

• no real workflow function • full of bugs since novo (the new release) • tickets take for ever to get solved • basically, zero SLA commitments, you pay, they do what and when they want • zero sales coverage • no ability to test new products (apart of on power point) • license model is absurd, you can only increase number of users, you can never reduce number of users • typical corporate BS, zero ownership, even on VP level, zero customer centric thinking mobile version is not proper working BI and reporting is siple in existing (stoneage) matching never worked

### "Good experience, with anything I think there is more there."

June 14, 2018

4.0

Pros

For 80+% of my work, it does exactly what I need. The core of it is well put together and easy to navigate.

Cons

There could be a lot more around customized features and reporting. We feel like there is a big gap on the reporting side and integration with other tools.

### "Review of Bullhorn"

March 2, 2017

3.0

Rather frustrating - the 'out of the box' solution doesn't really seem to fulfil as many of the requirements as some of your competitors do. The inability to set up multiple offices for the same company seems quite an oversight, particularly if one contact oversees the recruitment across a number of sites but can only be added to one of them for synchronisation purposes. Also, the fact that the online job loading portal automatically brings through the location of a role seems remarkably short-sighted when we don't want our competitors to know which clients we are acting for. Generally I think we are frustrated that when we initially looked at Bullhorn we thought it looked like a product for large organisations or in-house recruiters and was advised that this was not the case - yet how many start-ups can afford to employ a web developer to customise their vacancy portal or to invest in extra CV production software because the existing templates are too simplistic?

Pros

Synchronisation is seamless with email Customer service and tech support was good on some issues Online and mobile so can be accessed easily

Cons

Need to upgrade to access very simple tweaks - menu customisations? Should be fairly standard and not worth an extra £30 per user to do Not fully capable of doing everything we need it to. We paid a premium price to get a top end product and sadly this seems to fall short of that Requirement to have a web developer to customise portal

Bullhorn allows the organization to track opportunities and accounts.

Pros

Bullhorn has great integration with TextUs and Herefish. It has an easy to understand interface and makes it extremely easy to find candidates to match them to current opportunities. Our team loves this product.

Cons

There have been server issues, forcing Bullhorn to be down for extended periods of time which leads to a negative business impact.

### "Works well by itself and with others."

January 28, 2019

5.0

The integration with third-party apps is very handy. It allows you to keep everything in one place, which saves a lot of time. However, it might take a bit of research to be able to use this program to its fullest potential. Once you do so, it’s well worth the money.

Pros

One of the best features of Bullhorn is its integration with Outlook. It allows us to evaluate candidates without having to open a second program. It also allows you to schedule events and interviews with ease. The fact that it works really well with LinkedIn Recruiter is a big plus as well.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve to be able to use this program to the best of its ability. We had to do a few searches in order to get it to work the way we wanted it to, but once we had it set up, it worked flawlessly. The downtime can be a pain, but that’s with every software.

### "Expensive product with not enough functionality "

December 12, 2023

3.0

Pros

Great product for staffing purposes and the job recruitment process makes it super simple to very complex. The learning curve can be steep but after mastering the program you can tailor your experience to however vague or detailed that you need.

Cons

Overall a great product however for the price it's hard to justify unless you are doing big business.

### "Easy to use but feels antiquated at times"

December 1, 2018

3.0

Pros

Easy to use and pick up on, Quick easy navigation and like the task list

Cons

Buggy and quirky at times. Sometime it seems antiquated like it can't keep up with the times. Definitely a "B" player compared to an "A" player in the market.

### "Easy to Use ATS with Excellent Up-Time and a Healthy Customizability"

May 21, 2016

4.0

Like any product, it's important to understand your needs. Bullhorn isn't a perfect fit for every company, but for our Enterprise account of 100+ users, it's served rather well for over 6 years. I cannot speak about the conversion as I joined just about a year after. Over the past 5 years, the product has matured greatly. Up-time has improved immensely to the point the service is almost never down. Due to complex business needs, our product has been heavily customized internally and with the aid of Bullhorn's support -- for a fee of course. Managing the customization process is reasonable and within expectations, but you need to test the end-products thoroughly. It's been rare that Bullhorn wasn't able to accommodate a request, though the project timelines have grown over time. Bullhorn offers API access to further customize your functionality; something we've used to a huge extent. A third-party marketplace offers many additional features and add-ins typically with varying cost structures. We've used a few successfully and most have been valuable, others have not. Bullhorn used to come with a flexible custom reporting engine, but that is gone and the canned reports currently leave a little to be desired. User support has historically been excellent, though lately response time to non-urgent issues have slipped to several days. Overall, support tickets take a little longer to get resolved than before. Seems to be more bureaucracy that wasn't there before, though the staff we've worked with have always been friendly genuinely concerned with providing a resolution. Managing user access levels are simplified by Bullhorn managed roles. Changes beyond the core roles need to go through support, which generally hasn't been a problem for us. The application is very simple to use and even our most technologically challenged users pick it up quickly. Overall, Bullhorn offers a reasonably flexible product, with many features, simple administration and an easy interface. If your business isn't very complex, and you'd rather focus on the day-to-day operations, Bullhorn may be a solution for you.

### "Database management"

February 6, 2019

4.0

online chat are good, they dont know the more detailed information but will find it out .

Pros

It is easy to navigate, easy to send emails, and add notes to contacts, the overview pages are interactive and provide lots of information in an easy layout. Companies and contacts link easily together. The search functionality is comprehensive, and it is easy to be fairly competent.

Cons

one of my issues is adding notes is to a maximum of 500 records. Sometimes a note needs to added to several thousand which requires creating a lot of lists with the same criteria but excluding each of the lists you have created so far. Pulling off the first list took me 10 minutes it then took me 2 days more to add all the notes. The backend and how it can be manipulated is much less easy to navigate. With goals there is an issue with the way some things are recorded. a note saved to 500 people will only show as 1 note if you do it through batches so it is difficult to get relevant sales stats.

### "Mediocre Software "

January 23, 2020

4.0

It was fine at best. It's not a tool I would highly recommend to other individuals.

Pros

For recruiters this is a great tool for everyone to get access to other employees posts, comments, etc. Someone could easily pick up where someone else left off.

Cons

It was not an easy tool to navigate. There was difficulty pulling certain reports. Constantly ran into issues where we had to contact support.

### "Great Tool for Recruiting and Sales"

May 12, 2016

5.0

We have been using Bullhorn since 2005 to run our IT Staffing business. We recently converted to the S Release with minimal problems. It did take a few weeks to sort out the new User Interface and to get used to using Outlook for our mail client. We originally chose Bullhorn, after a thorough review of the then available products, because of the mail integration and cost. The SaaS model has worked well for us, particularly when compared to the issues we had with hosting our own Applicant Tracking System software. Bullhorn has been extremely reliable, the product is updated monthly and the administration is easy.

Pros

This is a well established product that is very reliable. They have a number of partners that offer you add on services at reasonable prices.

Cons

Telephone customer support is very good but tickets submitted via their support portal seem to get a much slower response.

### "Being Recruiter"

November 21, 2019

5.0

All over the it is good and useful software one can use for full Recruitment cycle.

Pros

Bullhorn is the best ATS i used so far. Bullhorn comprises of multiple job boards so we can search the quality candidate for our requirement. It has many features of starting from sourcing and posting till on-boarding of the candidate. There are many other helpful features and options present there for better efficiency and result. There are different records of companies, candidates, jobs, submissions, placements etc that will make ore easier to categorize and land to the result directly. All these records are categories by different colors so it looks beautiful though easy to find.

Cons

It could be tough to use or to find the specific result for the person who is using this for the first time, will take little training or practice to grab the things. Although once you get the things it would be easy and efficient for you.

### "Pretty good functionality for our purposes"

September 6, 2019

4.0

Pros

We use a heavily customized version of Bullhorn that is tailored to our specific needs. This allows us to trim cut out the features that we don't use and add features (for a fee) that we have to use every single day

Cons

It seems as though there's a Bullhorn outage at least 2 to 3 times per month that negatively impacts our workflow and the development time is ridiculous to say the least. We have been working towards transitioning to a new version of Bullhorn for almost 8 months now and have made little progress towards a working version rolling out with our customization intact.

October 24, 2017

Pros

I like that the display is very modern and fairly intuitive. The mobile functionality is also very easy to view and edit on the go.

Cons

I wish there were more customization options. It is getting better, but still further to go. I also wish the training sessions were a bit more in depth with more content available to read up on and train as you go.

### "Made for lead management, perfect for recruiting"

April 14, 2021

5.0

Used it everyday for 1 year, and I didn't really have any complaints! It was a good program, that I would no be upset if a future employer had the system.

Pros

This product, as evident by it's name, was made for people who need to track and contact a large number or people. Easy to track everything, it auto tracks phone calls if you set it up, it's a very professional CRM, not a cheap solution for lean management.

Cons

There were things that got frustrating sometimes, like any CRM, but it was overall a very simple CRM to use with a lot of features that I never even dove into. Overall there were no real cons, except that without very good management, if the lead base is too large, it's hard to weed out the bad leads.
